prompt: Lost...... lost.... lost...... is all Mouse can think of.
I don't know where i am..... where's my twoleg? she cried out in mental anguish. She didn't like making sounds as she didn't want to alert anything nearby of her presence whether friend or foe.
I need to find home.... but how did i get here? All I can remember was my twoleg putting me into a box and then here i was..... i tried chasing after them but I can't seem to find their scent. She tried her best to navigate the snowy forest but with no avail she couldn't find a wisp of a scent from home. It was getting cold, and nightfall was soon approaching. Her paws were freezing and she needed to find a warm place soon, no matter where it was.
Maybe I can find a twoleg home to stay for the night... it may not be my twolegs but for the time being it'll do. She decided to continue searching for her twolegs tomorrow when the sun rises up in the sky. For the meantime, she went looking for a cozy place to stay the night. She scented the air but couldn't distinguish what scent was what. She only knew the scents of her twolegs, kitty pet food, twoleg monster and her neighbour cats. Everything else to her was a mystery.
She wandered too far from where her box was and where the strange scent of the twoleg monster had been.
Where am I? she cried out in her head, her mind going crazy with every single thing that she hears in the forest. Eventually, she tired herself out from all the walking, from all the searching for her twoleg home.
She had wandered so far yet wasn't close to finding anywhere warm, and no twoleg place in sight. While avoiding as much undergrowth as she could, which was somewhat easy with the thick covering of snow, a freshly broken stick from an withering tree had landed on her tracks and she stepped on it with a loud crunch!
She was afraid of making noise, it was her biggest fear. She stood frozen, wondering if anything would come out. But nothing happened. She waited a while and so far, nothing.
I'm going to be okay, right? I just need to find any twoleg and they can help me get back home. Or at least keep me warm. She continued on, and by the time she had gathered her thoughts after stepping on that dreaded stick, night had fallen.
She shivered due to the cold winds picking up.
Someone help me, please! she begged in her mind, not willing to cry out in her physical voice. She scented something
strange,
What is this weird scent? She decided to follow it in desperation, but all it led to was a
small fuzzy thing? There was a small ball of fuzz lying in the snow by a tree, it seemed lifeless but when Mouse approached, it let out a shrill scream. Mouse panicked in fear, fur standing on end and her tail puffed out. The fuzzy thing slowly came closer and closer, Mouse still frozen in fear until it ended up crawling onto her fur.
What is this small fuzzy thing doing? The small fuzzy thing had wings and a face that were furless, but the main body was completely fuzzy.
It climbed on her, and Mouse frozen like a statue, decided to use logical thinking.
Yes, it made noise, but it seems to be quiet? Maybe it's not a threat, whatever this thing is. The small fuzzy things with wings, nuzzled into her fur.
It seems to be cold too.... maybe its lost like me? she thought. Again, the fuzzy thing let out a shrill sound, and this time Mouse decided to not let herself be ruled by fear. "Are you lost, like me?" For the first time since being lost, she used her voice, she asked very softly to the creature. All the creature did was look at her with blank eyes.
"Whatever you are, we can do this together. We will find a home and I'll keep you warm.... I just need someone to keep me warm!" She sounded fierce in her soft meek voice. Thus Mouse had become more braver for her little friend- which she found out was good at locating berries, mice and bugs with its voice. She and her companion that she found out was a bat from a cat called
Emberstar. She found a clan to keep her and her companion safe. From being left in the woods, abandoned by her towlegs, finding an unusual friend, she has became something stronger.
