prompt: If his name wasn't enough to make it obvious, Trick Of The Light is a very sneaky and devious cat! He loves to pull pranks and cause problems for other members of the guild. His most infamous trick, though? Well, when he managed to trick the Council into letting him become an Advisor, of course! Trick Of The Light spent moons planning how he would go about completing the trial and tests, mostly by convincing guild members that "it would be hilarious," which, to be fair to him, it was. Eventually, the entire guild, aside from the Council members, were in on the huge prank that would be Trick becoming an Advisor. Finally, the day had come. Trick had shadowed under one of the most laid-back Council members (thanks to help from guild members distracting the rest of the Council) to confirm he wanted to be an advisor (however he only did it due to it being required). Now, he would have to solve real world problems under the watchful eyes of the entire council. BUT Trick had a way to get around this too! The ENTIRE guild would only come to Trick with problems that they had rehearsed in private, so he perfectly (or, almost, if SOME cat hadn't forgotten what he was supposed to do next and had to come up with a new problem on the spot) solved all of the problems. So, against the Council's better judgement, Trick was made an Advisor. His next big prank? Becoming a Council member.

bonfire is not the treating type. he's sarcastic, loud, and abrasive- not exactly the kind of cat that you would expect to go around charitably gifting others. as anybody would be able to tell within a single conversation with or about the tom, bonfire does not hold himself to any kind of standard that most others would, even when it comes to his own reputation within the ensemble. when bonfire does almost anything, it's solely for himself; it seems like being a smug, impersonable irritant is simply in his nature.

still, i value him as i value every cat in the ensemble. he is an integral part of the group regardless of his crudeness and sharp edges, and i know this because at one time, i doubted it.

i don't like being proven wrong, but for once, i was glad that i found myself corrected. i'm sure you know quiet, don't you? that little oracle that always seems to be off in their own world. well, it appears as though bonfire fancies them; even if not romantically, the tom has devoted countless days spoiling quiet at every chance. bringing them prey when they've been holed up all day in their den, volunteering (a little too quickly, honestly) to accompany them on their expeditions to the skyreacher or to go herb hunting, insisting they take breaks to go on a stroll alongside him.. it's endearing. there was this one time...

i once ran into the duo on one of my walks. i just meant to stretch my legs after a stressful conversation, but it ended up with bonfire half-jokingly threatening to bite my head off if i told anybody what i witnessed- which i'm doing now, aren't i? haha, don't tell him, okay?

anyway, the two were sitting by the lake shore just outside lostsun, taking in the evening breeze and watching the sunset reflect on the water. i startled the living daylights out of them both, i think, when i walked up behind them. poor quiet looked like they nearly had a heart attack. you should have seen the way bonfire stepped in front of them so instinctually, though...

..it really was sweet, so i apologized for my intrusion and greeted the two. honestly, i should have left them to carry on their whispered conversations, but instead.. okay, well, i was nosy, alright? so i asked why they were outside the city so close to night- it was around the time those hounds were a problem- and quiet answered me.

'he's treating me to a date, i think' they blurted out anxiously after a couple seconds of silence between us. bonfire did a double-take, clearly not believing that quiet just exposed his intentions, and stammered up an excuse. i was hardly surprised, and not buying his rambling- after all, it wasn't like his crush isn't obvious..

ah, i should stop, shouldn't i?.. yeah, i really shouldn't gossip, it's unbecoming.

For moons there had been whispers among the nursery of plans brewing underfoot, kits giggling in hushed mews speaking of the day they rule the clan- some going as far as to say the world. After all, there were all in on the plan, why bother being subtle about it?

For all but one of the clans warriors it seemed like the kits were just playing an elaborate game, but to Emberwhisker it was proof the biggest plot of his life was happening in just a moons time.

Now in the past he had been known to cause trouble, his most recent trickery leading to a very disgruntled, feather coated deputy! However this plan, this was big, every kit in the clan would join in to take over the clan for a whole moon! He had no malicious intentions truly, he just thought the warriors were always so dreary in leaf-fall, with the looming threat of leaf-bare. Surely a day of chaos and kits would cheer everyone up!

It was a flawless plan, really. Emberwhisker had waited to tell the kits about his plan until a moon before the leader and deputy were travelling to another clan for a meeting, then he would let the kits take over when the next patrols leave!

For now, all the kits knew what to do next moon, and so all that was left to do was wait...

And as day broke, the sound of a dozen kits yowling with excitement was throughout the clearing! The leader must have left early, because there were already kits scrambling up to the leaders den! Emberwhisker just sat back and watched the chaos for a moment as more and more of the warriors started to laugh and go along with the kits antics, there were kits standing on the peak giving orders to warriors, kits in the medicine den pestering the medicine cat about important prophecies, kits everywhere causing chaos!

Emberwhisker decided to join in the fun- he had earned it setting this clan-wide trick up after all! With a whole day ahead of him before the leader returned home, he was ready to cause some more mischief!
