there had always been some kind of mystical air about the woods beyond the village. it'd always called to her, beckoning, reaching, just falling short. the ever-present whisper of wind through verdure had always kept her company when she was lonely, murmuring in ever-so-slightly strange birdcalls and babbling brooks. the forest had always called her name, but she'd never been brave enough to answer.

but one misty morning, its call didn't come. its ambient, humming presence wasn't there, in her head, as it always was. it was always there. where was it?!

it was this silence that drew her in, not the noise. the noise was comfortable, familiar. but the silence? the silence was deafening.

something wasn't right.

she had to do it. she had to. it was the village's most simple rule: don't enter the forest. it was enchanted. it was dangerous. many had gone missing, wandering about its perimeter. those who ventured in never returned. but she had to go in.

she found herself stood at the treeline before she knew it, on the edge of the world, like magic. how had she gotten here? she had just been in the garden, tending to the flowers—what happened?

her body moved with a mind of its own, taking that first daring step.

and another.

and another.

it was as if she was no longer in control of her paws, as if she was outside of her own body. her mind drifted, swaying in the rhythm of the branches above, quieted by the rustling of the grass beneath her feet and the no longer eerie silence of the woods around her. the stillness blanketed the forest like a layer of fog, muffling the world outside. it wasn't quite so disquieting from within the trees' arching dome, the one that filtered the daylight into pinpricks of sunshine on the leaf-littered floor.

she didn't recognize the trees around her. how far in had she gone? how long had she been—?

"HUN?" a voice echoes through the sylvan land, frantic yet ever-so-sweet. "hun, are you in there?"

it breaks her out of her trance. what..?

the spell of silence fades as footsteps near. "p-prim?" she manages. "where am i..?"

"i'm right here, hun. i'm right here. it'll all be okay, i promise."

SunFog was looking back on her apprentice and kit days when she first became the main medicine cat of the Falling Stars territory. Being a medicine cat was stressful, it was hard to keep everyone happy, but she kept falling back on this one memory whenever she felt down

When she'd just become the medicine cat apprentice, SunPaw was overwhelmed by all the names of the herbs, all the duties. Everything, but she couldn't give up now, she'd do this. Her mentor noticed her determination and rewarded her one evening. Asking the young apprentice to follow her into the mountains. They travelled for miles, and just as SunPaw wanted to give up, they stopped. Then she saw what her mentor wanted to show her, what they wanted to reward her hard work with.

The most beautiful sunset dipped below the horizon, the sunset being a similar color to her fur.
"That sunset, is like being a medicine cat" the medicine cat declared
"What?" SunPaw had asked at that time, she was confused, how could something so beautiful represent something so full of sadness?
"Sunsets are beautiful, and everyone wants to be close to them, but their presence reminds you that darkness will come. A sunset can never please all, but it will please those who can appreciate it's beauty" her mentor said

Those words would always echo in her mind, especially on bad days

Prompt: Mushroom nose loved mushrooms. Every time his mom told him they were eating mushrooms he pranced in the fields in joy! One day when he happily pranced in the fields, he saw a bowl of fresh mushrooms. He snuck one and popped in his mouth. He ran in the fields some more, but he tripped on a rock while chewing it! He fell on the ground choking! Luckily his mom saw him and gave him water. He learned to never run with food in his mouth again!

Prompt: Cute Sneezes Cures Diseases was born on a cold and harsh Leafbare night, where only her sneezes dared to challanged the sounds of the wind outside of the nursey burrow. Surrounded by plant life Cute Sneezes quickly grew very attached to fungi and herbs! As the young she-cat grew older she found that herbs and mushrooms were her calling indeed! Embracing the herbal side indisde of her, she turned to the path of a medicince cat apprentice! But before we can rush thqat far ahead we have to go the day that deteremied it all...
Cute Sneezes Cure Diseases found themselves sittinga lone in the medicine cat den. Her mother was stopping by for some herbs and she wanted to take a sneek peek around the new nook. As she padded along she found herself face to face with a Porcini mushroom. This small brownish redish mushroom was large at the base and held a large cap. These were very different from the red and white mushrooms she has come to know and love. Her mind began to overload with questions and curiousotiy. What other colors could mushrooms come in? What do they call this mushroom? Is this a mushroomkit? She looked to the medicince cat for all her anwser and thankfullly the Medicine Cat was wise and able to inspire young Cute Sneezes Cure Diseases!

A leaf fluttered into view, landing gently atop the violet-hued puddle. A lullaby of rain drops and swaying branches echoed within the quiet, peaceful camp. Just outside the cozy nursery walls was a small kitten, laying in front of the petite body of water. His eyes followed the leaf as it swirled atop the water lazily. The gentle morning breeze sifted through his fur, offering him a chilly yet comforting embrace. A small purr rumbled in his chest as delight surged through him.

From behind, the branches of the nursery entrance rustled. An amber-colotrd head popped out, their eyes sleepy and confused. After searching about for a few moments, their eyes settled upon the golden-colored kit. Recognition and understanding flickered in their gaze, "You're up quite early, little one."

In response, the tiny kit nodded their head, still facing the little puddle. The dawn morning sky reflected upon the water, it's image distorting with each ripple.

Leaves crunched under paw as the amber cat slowly stepped out and sat down beside the kit. The she-cat's tail swept above the ground, wrapping around the smaller cat's body. "Aren't you cold? she asked softly as she leaned down to lick the fur between his ears.

"Not at all," he mewed, shaking his head. "It's actually kind of nice"

Her comment seemed to please the older cat as she let out a warm purr. "I see. Your name certainly suits you, little Dawn." His head turned to face her, eyes glowing brightly. The she-cat's own eyes glimmered, a small etched on her face. The she-cat nuzzled her nose against his cheek, her warm breath tickling his fur. "My little morning blessing."
