It is the fourth time Cloudtip has come to him with her concerns for the court apprentice, Sunfish Danceypaws.
Starsnatch had not been concerned, not at first. Sunfish was a strange young cat who liked exploring far more than the average starpelt did. Starsnatch did not have to be after him every single cycle, and when the skylands were closest to the underworlds he was usually busy attending council with the groundlander king Sunburst. But now...
"I think he's seeing someone."
"Someone?" Starnstach says with growing alarm. "Seeing? Seeing someone, whatever do you mean?"
"Oh no- it doesn't have to be like
that." Cloudtip realized her tone seemed to insinuate some sort of romantic attachment. "I mean that yesterday- well he carried with him the scent of other cats. Groundlander cats. And that perhaps he is becoming... far too friendly with felines who are not our allies. It's not a good look for your apprentice to be so often away from his station, so often-"
"He'll grow out of it." Starsnatch was defensive of his protegee. But it was pretense; he
was concerned about where Sunfish's loyalty lay.
"-Let alone rubbing shoulders with the groundlanders."
