Range Trotters are the result of crossbreeding Orlov Trotters, Finnhorses, Welsh Cobs (section C & D) and Hanoverians. Later crosses of Quarter Horses, Paint and Appaloosas to gain color and to give a boost to their hardiness.With a height average of 13-15 hands, they're a hardy breed with characteristics for various disciplines.

Created for use as work, carriage and leisure riding horses originally, they now serve as long-distance range horses, such as work with Park Rangers and mounted officers.

Willing and eager personalities, most are quickly trained to be bombproof and therefore trusted mounts in all lines of work; some are being seen in local show jumping competitions, others are notably used in therapeutic sessions for their calm temperaments. Harness races and endurance trials are common for the breed, as they are able to sustain an extended trot without tire. Cross-Country competitions see some of the taller Trotters, but due to their cob lineage this is still uncommon.

Despite the variety of competitions and work these horses are being seen in, they are still famously skilled as endurance racers. Many competitors have chosen Range Trotters due to their tireless work ethic, as well as the ease in which they can be trained. Many have become champions in endurance trials, and they have quickly become a sought after breed for their natural ability.

Piece of Cake - He has been know for his love of food and will always show if food has been offered. He would never pass up the chance for a tasty morsel no matter how small. But be warned though it’s best not to feed him after midnight!

Umbrella - Gremlin hates water and will do everything in his power to stop himself from getting a bath. Whilst he is know to freak when even a drop hits him, on clear nights he can be seen admiring the water from a distance, as it shimmers in the silvery moonlight unsure of what the dark abyss holds. Maybe one day he will overcome his fears but for now he is happy on dry land.

Toy dog - This reminds him of his best friend that used you to live on the island. They’d spend hours chasing butterflies or digging holes for unknown treasures. As time went by his visits with the friend grew less and less until one day they stopped completely. Gremlin still grieves for his old friend and will lay by their favourite pond remembering the fun times they had.

Conch Seashell - With dreams of visiting the beach, he stumbled upon this odd shell and kept it as a memento; a simple reminder that he might achieve his dream one day. Sometimes if he listens closely he claims he can hear the waves as they crash upon the shore. Whilst he won’t dare go near the waves he’d love to feel the soft sand under his hooves and listen to a cacophony of seagulls as they go about their day.

Story Book - He has always had a love for stories and will often hide in the shadows as campers sat around the fire as captivating tales were told of brave adventurers or daring pirates as they crossed treacherous seas. He had stumbled upon a book with a worn leather cover once and inside were pictures of pirates as they battled in dangerous waters. He always loved to play pretend; sometimes he was a fearless pirate swinging around a stick fighting off the enemies or an intrepid adventurer braving the untamed forest around him.

The item itself is not important, as it is the color that resonates with Calixte. The first time I summoned Calixte, I used a small amethyst, some sprigs of lavender, a blue ribbon, some seaglass, and a lime. This summoning needs to be repeated every once in a while as Calixte has a habit of wandering into the shadows and disappearing, but I've gotten smarter about summoning her; I went and purchased crayons and colored pencils matching her flames to make summoning her a breeze.

This trotter does not wish to be summoned. As such, she has picked the most inconvenient items to procure, in an attempt to keep would-be riders away. Only the most stubborn and most imaginative riders may be able to perform her summoning ritual correctly, the sight of her eerily dappled rippling fur their prize.

The bark of a cat

In honor of unconventional ways to grow up, as this trotter was seperated from her herd as a filly and was initially raised by an entirely different species altogether.

A song of fire and sea

One element for the flames in her heart, the other for the sea that traps her here. When played, the song carries the distinctive sound of hoofbeats, no matter the instruments used or what the song was originally supposed to sound like.

A guiding light, one of monochromat

A grayscale lightsource, one that turns the forest shades of silver. Upon a successful summoning, this lantern's fire colors change to match this trotter's, and can be used to summon her in the future without the use of a summoning spell.

1. We shall start with something simple that is well and truly suited for most horses, a Himalayan salt lick! This nice pink block will provide lots of good minerals and encourage the Trotter to drink when he's thirsty. Plus he thinks it's fancy <3

2. A replica of the bow that keeps Neuvilette's hair in that beautiful tail he always wears. Sometimes even Cryo might feel like accessories are a good thing depending on what said accessories are, just don't drape him in neon stuff. He finds that atrocious

3. Something cat-shaped to appeal to the love of his Tortoishell markings. Just make sure it's not fragile, don't want it to be something easily breakable but if it is please make sure to move it out of reach as soon as you can. Cryo is a little bit clumsy sometimes

4. The heart of snow white - For the love of good do not take that literally and bring an actual heart, we're not summoning a demon! For this item please either bring something shaped like an actual heart or a love heart, it can be edible, it can be more of an artistic kind of deal. Hell, you could bring a funny little doodle. Anything that isn't a real heart. Why the heart of Snow White? Because someone (see Cryo) thinks it's funny.

5. Last but not least, for the final item on our list. A nice flower, as long as it isn't poisonous to horses or people because Cryo is partial to gazing at flowers when he's not doing anything more important, like eating.

Fall time leaf -As the light dwindles in the sky and the life begins to be drawn out out of all living beings, the maple fall time leaf symbolizes this well. It is this life force that the stallion seeks to help keep him alive!

Pumpkin - Summon the stallion into a carved pumpkin. Keeping his spirit held tight as the pumpkin begins to grow and transform into the large beast! Every spirit being needs a form to come to this physical plain.

Candy -With a sweet tooth the size of a unicorn horn candy is the best way to not only lure the stallion out and to you but, also make him passive enough to let you ride him.
