Range Trotters are the result of crossbreeding Orlov Trotters, Finnhorses, Welsh Cobs (section C & D) and Hanoverians. Later crosses of Quarter Horses, Paint and Appaloosas to gain color and to give a boost to their hardiness. With a height average of 13-15 hands, they're a hardy breed with characteristics for various disciplines.

Created for use as work, carriage and leisure riding horses originally, they now serve as long-distance range horses, such as work with Park Rangers and mounted officers.

Willing and eager personalities, most are quickly trained to be bombproof and therefore trusted mounts in all lines of work; some are being seen in local show jumping competitions, others are notably used in therapeutic sessions for their calm temperaments. Harness races and endurance trials are common for the breed, as they are able to sustain an extended trot without tire. Cross-Country competitions see some of the taller Trotters, but due to their cob lineage this is still uncommon.

Despite the variety of competitions and work these horses are being seen in, they are still famously skilled as endurance racers. Many competitors have chosen Range Trotters due to their tireless work ethic, as well as the ease in which they can be trained. Many have become champions in endurance trials, and they have quickly become a sought after breed for their natural ability.

I couldn't decide what limited marking I wanted to slap on adopt, so I'm gonna make it everyone else's problem! The above trotter is just a base- you'll get to decide what markings they have, including one limited marking!

To win this trotter, make something that tells me something important about them. This can be anything: a piece of writing or poetry, a digital or traditional drawing, a moodboard, a playlist, whatever you'd like. So long as it requires creativity, it counts! I'm looking for effort here, not an end product that belongs in a museum.

the world is a vast expanse of color and sound, but I am not a part of it. i’m a ghost, an unseen figure lurking on the fringes, content to observe from afar. the world moves too quickly for my liking, the hearts beating too fast, the minds racing with thoughts and emotions that leave me feeling disconnected from the world. it's not that I don't appreciate the beauty of life - i do. but from where I stand, it's like watching a beautiful painting move on an assembly line, but each brushstroke perfect but lacking the soul of the artist's hand. and so, I remain a specter, invisible yet present, watching as the world turns and time marches on without me.

in this forest, I am at peace. the trees are my companions, their ancient roots reaching deep into the earth while their branches reach towards the sky, as if they too are searching for something beyond their grasp. the rustle of leaves in the wind is like a lullaby, soothing my restless spirit and calming my troubled mind. the scent of pine and earth fills my nostrils, reminding me of the cycles of life and death that continue unabated. it's here, in this quiet corner of the world, that i find solace and comfort, where I can observe the living without feeling the weight of their mortality. and so, I remain, an unseen presence in the heart of the forest, content to watch and wait for whatever comes next.
