Prompt: Mary Read is definitely a favorite of mine! I just find it so interesting how she was basically treated like a boy her entire childhood, and then as a man in her adulthood. Given that many pirates at the time considered women onboard ships to be bad luck, it probably would've been quite the shock to learn that not only is one of your trusted companions a woman, but two! She and Anne Bonny were both masquerading as men under the service of Calico Jack.

Prompt: my favorite fictional pirate is archie from pokemon alpha sapphire!!! it was one of my first pokemon games and i fell in love with his character. no matter how old i get, or how far away i move from pokemon, his character will always remind me of the joys it felt to play through that game. and i love his character, hes the boss of an evil team whos rivals to another team, and he unleashes his plan to cover the world in more water. he brings the legendary pokemon kyogre from his slumber and almost destroys the world - and he feels bad about it. he apologizes. he tries to make up with the characters and disbands team aqua. now its been a long time since i played those games, but im pretty sure thats what happened. not a lot of bad guys in pokemon do that. i used to go by aquaholic a long long time ago online because i loved this guy so much. sorry for such a long paragraph i just havent thought of this dude in a while but he still means as much to me as he did all those years ago.
