Casper was born in the Garden and therefore grew up viewing the Garden's matriarch, Monarch, as almost a sort of deity- a cat that knew all and could do no wrong. Since all of the other clowder members also viewed her this way, Casper believed it to be a fact that Monarch was almost akin to a goddess. That is until one day, when Monarch made a mistake that almost ended Casper's life.

After eating some bad food, Casper became sick and went to Monarch, who also served as the clowder's healer. Monarch, in her old age, had days where she felt sluggish and tired no matter how much sleep she had gotten, and unfortunately for Casper that had been one of those days. With her mind foggy, Monarch accidentally gave Casper the wrong herb to treat his upset stomach. The two herbs were nearly identical, except for the fact that one was a treatment for bellyache and the other was toxic to cats.

Casper spent days barely clinging to life. Monarch, overcome with guilt and sorrow, refused to leave Casper's side. By some miracle, he managed to pull through. Though he was physically recovered, he would never recover mentally. Casper's worldview had been shattered. He pretended that everything was fine, but inwardly he became resentful towards Monarch for her mistake, as well as the other clowder members, who seemed to pretend that Monarch hadn't done anything wrong.

Robinfur had just gotten back from his patrol when the clan was called to a meeting. He walked up to the leader's rock and listened as their leader blabbed on and on about how they were doing better with hunting patrols and how they're fighting techniques were getting better. But he failed to mention what they had lost in the last few months. The war with the wolves had gotten much worse, they had lost a lot of good warriors and even some innocent bystanders. Robinfur had lost his mother in the first battle.

He was so close. He had never run so fast in his life. His mother was screaming loudly when all of a sudden it when quiet. He turned the corner and saw her, limp bleeding from her neck. Robinfur screamed and ran before the wolves came back.

He had lost both his brothers in the third battle.

The wolves were hot on their trail and gaining. Russetpaw and Ebonypaw were ahead of him when they came up to a river. He pushed his brother forward and ushered them into the water, as they swam he noticed Russetpaw falling behind. He swam back to help him but before he could a wolf grabbed Ebonypaw from behind him and as he turned to help Russetpaw was grabbed too. He dodged the wolves and raced away. Sobbing.

And he lost his best friend only three days ago.

Rowanheart and Robinfur came from every angle at the wolf to keep the kits and queens safe. As they took down the first one two more came after them. Just as a wolf had Robinfur pinned Rowanheart launched herself onto the wolf's back and ripped at it's throat. Rowanheart and Robinfur touched noses and intertwined tails and they split off, Robinfur would go with the queens and kits and Rowanheart would hold off the wolves. Later that day Robinfur went back to where the fight took place and saw her, Rowanheart. Long gone.

Robinfur was sick of the optimism of his leader. He had been through so much in the last few months, everyone had, and his leader just glances over everything like they hadn't lost half their clan in the last three months. It's not like he hadn't lost anyone either. Of course Robinfur could never say how much he hated their leader, not now. The last thing they needed right now was more fighting.

I thought this was a fascinating view to see change and has much potential, story-wise! Congrats!
