Prompt: Bramble doesn't usually have to keep warm but he does receive much-needed security (and very rarely warmth) from his animal companion. When he was younger, Bramble lived in the wide plains of the savannah. He lived within a quaint hutch made with logs, sticks, and dead grass near a thin group of tall acacia trees. Bramble quickly developed a schedule of taking care of the daily duties of his little farm like hunting, preparing for winter, sweeping his hutch clean of filth, feeding the chickens, etc. He didn't grow any plants besides basic herbs like catchweed and feverfew but he did happen to own several chickens and a goat.

The chickens and goat were kept together peacefully in a large pen, right beside his hutch so he could keep an eye on them. Around six wide-moons of getting comfortable in his new set home, a lost pup managed to find its way to the tom's farm, most likely having been attracted by the scent of the farm animals. Bramble welcomed the puppy into his home, feeding it, teaching it how to behave around the farm animals, and providing it with its very own hutch, a nameplate right over the entranceway he made himself.

The nameplate read "Bella", a name the tom had always liked. Bramble taught Bella fighting skills shortly after she recovered from emaciation so she knew how to protect his farm from other predators and unwelcome visitors. Bramble grew closely bonded to the sweet border collie pup. Bramble never understood how bored he was without a friend before she had shown up, now they made each other happy and she kept him safe, it was an overall win-win.

Being friendly with humans has its perks. From the great free food to getting scritches in those hard-to-reach spots without having to ask very much for them. The brown tom definitely loves to cuddle up next to his favorite human in the cold months. With the furs and barks that they use to keep their small living areas warm, the tom couldn't be happier with the choice he made to not fear the furless wonders that survive in these conditions. He even has his own little leather boots to keep his feet warm.

Living in the grasslands can get pretty cold, especially with the strong winds that blow throughout. But Montgomery has devised a clever plan to help him keep warm and cosy during the cold months. He goes out and collects as much wild cotton and moss that he can carry and brings it back to his den. He then tirelessly kneads that moss and cotton into a basket shape big enough for him. He then returns to the outdoors and collects as much grass tufts as he can and returns to his den. He proceeds to place to grass on top of his basket essentially making a grass blanket. Montgomery then will proceed to crawl in and sleep buried under the grass blanket.
