*stable's done, but I need to mess around with the links to make it publicly viewable — I should have it figured out by tomorrow
one.
Salem approached the beast in a confident stride, one that lacked his usual flare of mocking grace. Such silliness he reserved for his fellow stablehand, Danilo. Salem wouldn't want to unease his new charge with his flamboyant antics.
Appropriately, the tamer addressed the echobi, "Greetings, Glâsen, third of the land." He smiled, hoping to soothe Glâsen's distrustful stare. Salem, too, disliked the overall anxious air of the rehabilitation center.
Glâsen lowered his head eventually, and Salem took it as permission to reach out. Echobi were intelligent creatures; Glâsen's former owners hadn't been subtle in the slightest about their incompetence. Before he could make contact with the isabelline-coated creature, however, Glâsen pulled back.
Salem paused, considering the echobi. "That's alright," the tamer decided. "We'll take as long as you'd like."
At that, Glâsen relaxed. Salem stepped closer, allowing the stallion to push his head against Salem's still-outstretched hand. "Good boy," the tamer purred. "Brave, I mean."
Then, Salem laughed, shooting Glâsen an apologetic glance for startling the beast. He explained, "I wonder how Danilo is fairing with his little project. He has your friend Zephyrus, and no offense, but that 'ol stallion looks like he'd be a hard one to tame."
Glâsen muffled a noise of amusement, and Salem grinned. This was good, how comfortable they already were with each other. Certainly more progress than he usually made on first meetings, but this was good. He and Glâsen would be good friends.
