Quietly Eveningblood dashed towards the nursery and slowed herself before peeking inside. Tumblinghawk was curled up in his nest, eyes closed, but she could tell that he wasn't asleep. He flicked an ear, making the gold earrings shift and clink against one another as he opened his eyes and glanced at her. "Hello?" he murmured, stretching out his paws, body also as lithe as Eveningblood's - but he was heavy with the weight of his kits. She shyly went to lay next to him, curling her thick furred body up against his side.

Besides a gorgeous pelt and bright amber eyes, Tumblinghawk was adorned in gold jewelry that shimmered in the low light, and a smile that seemed to light the room. Eveningblood was almost starstruck, and let out a small purr as Tumblinghawk gently laid against her plush pelt. "Thank you for coming to check on me," he said softly, "I was getting cold in here all alone." Eveningblood began to lick at his head and ears, sharing tongues with her newfound crush, but abruptly stopped, eyes wide, as Rustlingraven entered the nursery area. Her yellow eyes narrowed as she saw Tumblinghawk so casually spread against her apprentice's lush coat, but Eveningblood was quick to explain -

"Hi Rustlingraven! Tumblinghawk had a bit of a chill, so I let him lay against my pelt to help warm him up. I want to make sure that his kits are safe and comfortable!" Rustlingraven was a bit taken aback, but she came to lay by her apprentice and her love interest nonetheless.

"You've never said anything about an interest in the nursery before," she murmured passively, picking up with sharing tongues with Tumblinghawk right where Eveningblood had so swiftly stopped. "What's changed your mind?" she asked, glaring at Eveningblood once more with those stark yellow eyes.

Eveningblood gulped, but quickly caught herself. "Well," she said calmly, Tumblinghawk's head still resting against her side, don't say you were trying to steal her mate, don't say you were trying to steal her mate "I've always been interested in being a den guard. I really appreciate all the training you've given me, but I think my true calling is here in the nursery, taking care of all of the cats and their kits. After all, there's nothing more important than the future of our clan!"

The truth was, Eveningblood hated kits. They did nothing but whine and wail and get in the way. But saying she liked kits had to be better than facing Rustlingraven's wrath at trying to steal Tumblinghawk, right?

Wrong. Those lies that night not only cost Eveningblood her destiny as a prowler, they landed her in the nursery for the rest of her life - Eveningblood was swiftly named Eveningbriar and became the youngest den guard ever. She grumpily helped take care of Tumblinghawk's kit, Cliffkit, and occasionally trained with the scrappers to keep her guard skills up. But hey, at least there were plenty of cute mothers in the nursery!

she was basically cheating on her assigned mate, and told a lie when someone caught them. that the cat was sneaking off, and stingray decided to confront her. the group believed her and thought that the other cat was a spy. cora (the other cat) was exiled & stingray couldn’t bear to live in the group anymore, so she left. (I plan of writing this out?? not sure if I’ll have time though)

Every word she let slither from her tongue felt like a knife stabbing at her heart. Cariboutuft should have saved her, but she didn't. She had chosen not to, ashamed of her feelings for her. Now she was gone, and it was all her fault.

Cariboutuft had loved her, she had loved her so dearly at times she thought her heart might burst. It felt like a weight had been pushed over her shoulders and that weight had only grown heavier with her absence. She missed her so much, it made Cariboutuft sick. But it was her fault she was gone, at least that was what the clan knew, and with her absence went also her heart.
