Twice a year, semi-wild strings of Australian Drovers
are herded, halter broke and sold to carefully sele-
cted trainers all over Australia, and to some extent,
the world. At the end of an 160 day period, Drovers
and their trainers compete over a three day period
and are then auctioned off to the highest bidder.
This year, trainers have the choice to keep their Dr-
over but must submit this paper work 30 days prior
    to the competition.

    Notable rules and guidelines:
    - all trainers will keep their horses
    - this is a development event, you must complete
3/5 tasks to compete in the Australian Drover Training
    Event
    - there will be rewards for the top 3 placings in
    the ADTE!
    - you may chose to either have a yearling or an
adult horse, yearlings will grow at the end of the
    event
    - at this time you may only enter one application
    - you may not pick the colour of your Drover, but
you may give a specific height range and gender you'd
    prefer

Tasks

Postby heffalumps » Sun Jun 07, 2020 4:06 pm

    Task One
    ADULT & YEARLING
-Write or draw about your first encounter with your Drover. This
may be the day you got them home, when you went to pick them
up at the holding facility, or any other scenario where you first
    meet your Drover.
*remember that the Drover is no pre-picked and you will only find
out what they look like once you meet them.
*written task must be 100+ words at the absolute minimum
*artistic task may be tradition or digital but must be fully coloured,
have at least a simplistic-in-detail background

    Task Two
    ADULT & YEARLING
-Write or draw about your first training session with your Drover.
This may include as much progress as you would like; the first
pat, the first haltering, the first time being brushed etc. The pr-
ogress of your Drover is completely up to you.
*written task must be 150+ words at the minimum
*artistic task may be traditional or digital but must be fully coloured,
have at least a simplistic-in-detail background

    Task Three
    ADULT
-Write or draw about your drovers first ride and how they han-
deled it, include the good, the bad and the ugly. This part may
stretch over several days if you wish. Again, the progress of your
Drover is completely up to you.
    YEARLING
-Write or draw about your Drovers progress in-hand and how
you are going about teaching them to walk over obstacles
    and are desensitising them
*written task must be 150+ words at the minimum
*artistic task may be traditional or digital but must be fully coloured,
have at least a simplistic-in-detail background

    Task Four
    ADULT
-Write or draw about your Drovers first outing or ride outside of an
arena or round pen. Tell me how they went. This may be to
another property, on a trail, cattle work etc. This is where
you may tell me about your Drovers future discipline and
    how they are progressing.
    YEARLING
-Write or draw about your Drovers first outing or trail ride they
accompanied you on. Were they allowed to free roam? Did you
lead them off another horse? Did you take them to a river or lake
or beach at any point? (These are suggestions)
*written task must be 150+ words at the minimum
*artistic task may be traditional or digital but must be fully coloured,
have at least a simplistic-in-detail background

    Task Five
    ADULT & YEARLING
-Write or draw about the overall experience you had with
your Drover and about how you prepared for the ADTE. Are
you nervous? Do you feel that your Drover is fully prepared for
the competition? Do you think you will do well? Here you can
tell me about anything you would like to add about your Drover.
*written task must be 150+ words at the minimum
*artistic task may be traditional or digital but must be fully coloured,
have at least a simplistic-in-detail background
