Reason:

She doesn't want to give up on her relationship but feels everything is out of her control. She never thought it would end this way and can only think about what could've been if it didn't happen like this.

To her, self-guilt is second nature, but in reality she really does the best she can. She just lives in a world where everyone expects the absolute best from everyone. She doesn't understand why her lover did the things they did, all she knows is they hurt her, and all she can think to do is blame, blame nobody but herself.

She doesn't even know what to be sorry for, she just wants recognition that she's trying. She's been struggling a lot lately in life and her partner knew that. They didn't mean to hurt her the way they did and only want the best for her. And, in return, she only wants the best for them. They only want the best for each other, even if that means being apart.

More thoughts of their future from her broken up mind, she just can't think straight anymore. The thoughts haunt her mind constantly, the feelings they cause are an entire spectrum. Sadness from it never coming to fruition. Happiness from the warmth of the thought. Anger from her feeling shes not good enough. This verse just hits her heart so hard shed hardly speak

"I hope I go to heaven so I see you once again, my life was kinda slow but I got so many blessings, glad you were mine, sucks that its all ending."

Normal break-up thoughts from anyone who had a serious relationship, just a ton of pain. Trying to adjust to life alone again is super stressful for her. And just because it was so abrupt she doesn't hate them, she still loves them for now, until she gets over them. She's a little sick right now, but being sick is necessary to heal. Looking for the silver lining is all she can do. Healing takes time and that's all she has now. She will be okay, she just needs some time.

Costello is more nostalgic over the relationship than angry. She's upset that it had to come down to them breaking up, but wants to understand the reasoning and help the other person move on to find their new happy.
