Many moons ago, River, then Thicket*, led an army of cats against The Dark. The battles raged on for days, until, on the last day of GoldenLeaf**, The Dark's leader, Umphare-o, sought out Thicket, killing any cat in his way, eager to challenge The Light's leader. Thicket rose to the challenge, ordering his own cats to leave it to him - and they did. Thicket faced down the shadowed force of evil on his own. The fight was brutal, but Thicket won, not before Umphare-o landed a terrible blow across his face. The claws of Dark Soldiers are of pure evil, so no wound made by them can fully heal, meaning Thicket was left with a gashed ear and a terrible scar down his face. It still stings him when he is near The Unknown, but they are a sign of his strength and honour, and he bears them as such.

*Greats gain the Name "The River's Choice", replacing their birth name.

Campfire would argue that she was in the right place, but many think it was wrong. She was sitting just outside the camp when a rock fell from the top of the steep slope beside her. The lookout sending a warning that there were other's coming and to prepare the camp. The rock wasn't supposed to hit anyone, and everyone blames Campfire for being where she shouldn't have been, but if it wasn't for her sitting there, no one in the camp would have noticed the small rock until the scouts returned almost too late.
