It all started when Jay was a pup, having his mother and father abandon him when he was young to fend for himself. It all started when Jay was a pup, being small and weak he couldn’t defend himself while in the wild. It all started when Jay was a pup, not having confidence and trusting himself. It all started when Jay was a pup, he lost his leg when trying to chase a rabbit, little did he know a wolf was lurking close by. It all started when Jay was a pup, he should have used his senses that he loved most, touch and smell. He should have touched the ground and felt another animal nearby, and he should have smelt the unfamiliar smell. It all started when Jay was a pup, having to get rushed to an animal emergency to save his life, unfortunately they couldn’t save his leg. It all ended when Jay turned 1, learning to defend his territory when needed. And with that, he became the sweetest rescue animal you have ever met.

Prompt - The time she started limping was when the dog catcher's net got stuck on her leg and hanked it back, after that she didn't use it at all. When she got hit by a car the leg got hit by the bumper while the rest of her laid under the car. The leg almost came clean off. She had surgery to fix it up after she was found on the road, unconscious.

Prompt - Claudette had lived in the woods for a good portion of her life after getting off the streets. She had been a pet at one time, but sadly had been thrown out after "not being cute anymore". She had been left on the streets and nobody had seen her since she escaped the box quickly. After a few accidents that she had escaped, Claud had at first ended up with a limp and wasn't very careful with her back leg as a result. After moving to the woods to get away from the cars is when it happened. It all started when Claud was roaming one day for food. She knew that she could get some food left at the edge of the woods, since people knew some animals hid away in there, but couldn't catch them. Claud wasn't paying much attention as normal and didn't watch the ground around her. She had somehow missed it with her front legs, but do to the limp in her back leg she would just hit it and not be able to escape if she tried.
A beartrap. Claud hit it with limp back leg and yowled in pain, she hadn't seen or noticed it before and if she had maybe she wouldn't have lost it. She would bleed out if someone didn't get to her quickly, but her yowling and loud whining had saved her in the end. A human who lived just on the outskirts of the woods, who offended checked in on the pets who he could and got them off the streets when possible. He had heard Claud crying and found her, he felt horrible. The man had thought he had taken all the traps out of the woods, but seeing Claud bleeding in front of him meant he failed, but he could save her. Unforently due to the amount of tramua on her leg from it being hit and injured Claud would have to have it removed. She wouldn't be in pain, just without a leg. Since she was now a tripod she would have to have care however. The hunter ended up taking in Claudette, but would still let her roam and she helped him make sure that all pets who had escaped into the woods got a new save home and nothing would happen to them like it had to her.

It all started when my first family brought me BACK to the shelter. Me and a few other animals found a loose few bricks near our cages. We ‘broke out’ during the night. I was too excited and started running around not paying any attention to where I was going. I remember hearing screams of warning to get back to where they were but I was WAY to excited. I didn’t even notice I was running near the road and a truck was coming near me at a VERY fast speed and couldn’t stop even if it wanted too. I remember feeling harsh pain in one of my legs. I was taken to a very bright room and put to sleep. When I woke up my leg was gone. Now I know what you are wondering, no it is not hard to maneuver with 3 legs. You get used to it, and it is actually very fun. You can still run but if you have to get it taken off, you just have to get used to it. I think that’s my food bowl being filled. Bye for now!

There were some good stories in there! I really enjoyed HappyAlpaca’s story as well. In the end I felt like the most effort and character development was in this form.
