He'd be a tradesman, most likely in a medieval setting. He appears when he's needed, and always seems to have what you want. He's an "I have what you need if you can pay the price" type of trader. Sometimes, he'll trade for items and money, but sometimes, you have to do something for him to get it. Some think he's a wizard of some kind, while others think he's a demon looking to trick you, because of some of the things he requires you to do. In reality, he's just very lucky and can see small parts of people's futures. He'll know where to go to find them, and knows what kinds of things they'll need to do, to be ready for their next task.
