flower: Blanche's favorite flower is the astilbe (also known as the "false goat's beard")! This is because Blanche was actually born blind, and navigates and enjoys the world through sounds, scents, and feeling. She adores these flowers as they have an incredibly uniquely fluffy and interesting texture. The flowers are soft and puffy, hence the name "false goat's beard" which makes them incredibly enjoyable for Blanche to feel and enjoy. Astilbes have a sweet floral smell, though it's very subtle and elusive. Blanche often has fun waltzing around the pasture in search for the hiding scent, yet after many years has become an expert in searching them out amongst the other arrays of floral smells. Many are aware of Blanche's love for the flower, and her friends often pick them for her as a surprise or treat when she needs a little pick-me-up and will braid them into her forelock when the bunch feels like getting fancy or dressing up for the fun of it. Anyone who peeks into her stable can catch a wide variety of flowers amongst the hay, though astilbes are always the star of the show. Despite her love of many types of flowers, astilbes have always been and likely will always be Blanche's absolute favorite flower.

flower: Lilacs are PB’s favorite flowers. They remind her of her mother and her old home. Fields would be covered with them in the transition from spring to summer.
