Personality:
Mal is super jumpy and excitable! He gets frightened easily, and is often a ball of nervous energy. It's an endearing trait, and leads him to be babied a little bit by his family. He hates this most of the time, and, when he's feeling they're being far too overprotective, goes off and attempts to be daring and brave — which more often than not ends up in him running back home, tail between his legs and looking for some TLC!

Personality: Preto is slightly pessimistic and always avoids other Hounds like the plague. He stays in his den most of the time and only comes out to collect mushrooms, which he then catalogues neatly by color. Preto likes to watch the sun move across the sky, and sometimes wanders into open fields to watch it. Due to this, some humans tried to catch him and put him back in the forest, only for him to bite a 2-inch-long gash into one of their arms and escape, which increased his pessimistic tendencies and caused him to constantly be on edge and jump slightly at the littlest things.

Personality: Whisper is a natural born hunter. She lives for the whisper of the wind through the underbrush as she silently slinks through the forests, keeping an ear out for the rustling of the vermin that have become her prey, and the blood pounding in her skull as the chase begins, and the sweet sweet triumph of a hunt well done. Unfortunately, because of this she's become a sort of lone wolf. Not that she wants to be, but her boundless energy and raging prey drive make others often consider her a nuisance, regardless of her abundant enthusiasm in her quest to befriend another. So, she spends her time alone, plodding along forest trails in search of her next meal and a companion to join her in the chase.

Personality: Unlike other Bush Hounds, Bartie enjoys being near humans. While he would never be anyone's pet, he lives on the outskirts of a rural town and frequently visits. He has a very curious nature, particularly when it comes to humans and their daily lives. He's what one might call a "people watcher", because he spends his days observing the locals from afar. They gave him the name he currently prefers over his birth name. He feels honored, in a way, that they welcome his presence enough to call him something, though he quickly shies away from humans who approach him.

His curiosity sometimes gets him into trouble, namely with neighborhood dogs, but he doesn't learn from his mistakes. Or rather, he ignores any lessons learned due to stubbornness.

Cats are very fond of him though, and he can often be seen playing with the local cats. Bartie learns a lot about humans by gossiping with the cats, and they learn a lot about nature from him. Despite living near a town, he's very knowledgeable about the natural world, and he's more than happy to discuss it with anyone who will listen.

At night his boldness shows itself, as he often creeps into the town to investigate the human habitats more closely. If he finds something he likes, he takes it back to his den to keep for himself. Bartie hoards all kinds of strange human things, though toys, clothes and blankets are his favorite items.

This is all for the sake of understanding, as he feels that humans could bond more with the natural world, and other creatures could try to learn about and be more accepting of humans.

And it's all just plain fun. Who wouldn't want to spend their days having so much fun?
