FAQ:

Will you judge based on the prompt, the aesthetic, or both?
I'll be judging primarily based on the prompt, but I'll also try to choose an aesthetic I think I can work with. If it really doesn't inspire me, it'll be tough to make a design!

What can I use for the aesthetic part of the form?
Moodboards, images, gifs, songs, palettes, or even things like poems or song lyrics - whatever you'd like to set the mood! Just be sure to credit the creators of anything that isn't your own.
However, please don't ask for specific hairstyles, design elements, etc. - I want inspiration, not instructions!

Can I do my own artwork for the aesthetic, or does that count as an extra?
You can use your own artwork, just know that it can't include the kalon since it hasn't been created yet. Also note that it won't give you an advantage to use your own art over just choosing free to use images from online.

What do you mean by "ghosted someone?"
I'm talking about ghosting as a slang term - ignoring someone who's bothering you until they figure it out and leave you alone. But you're welcome to interpret it any way you like!

Will there be RUs?
It's not likely, but if there's a form I really think deserves one, I might choose to award one RU with up to standard edits.

Will you extend the contest at all?
No, I don't plan to since I'd like time to try to complete your design before Halloween!

Does the winner get any say in the design?
I'll use the winner's aesthetic to come up with a design and then run it past them before I officially post it. They'll be able to ask for a few minor changes but overall the design will be whatever their aesthetic inspires!

What if I win, but I really don't connect to the design at all?
I hope this doesn't happen, but please let me know before I post the official design if it really won't work for you. In the end I want you to have something you're happy with, though note that having to re-do the design means it might not happen in time for Halloween.

"Excuse me, How did you die? Where did you die?"
The spirit stayed in silence, deciding not to acknowledge the young avid journalist.

Odyssey never wished to be bothered, and never wanted to "ghost" anyone. That is until his humble abode of an abandoned hospital was intruded upon by a very happy looking reporter. The questions thrown upon him were ones which he did not want to answer, as they reminded him too much of the past, and why he was no longer among the living. He moved in ways that made it known that he could hear the living one, but he never responded. He had no need to.

"I'm sorry... I know you probably don't want to hear me ask anymore questions... I'm used to being ignored anyways..."

Odyssey thought that was the end of it. The reporter left, and the afterlife continued on. However, the reporter returned, this time, they were no longer part of the living. The reporter thought to try and be friends with Odyssey, confident that the spirit would acknowledge them now. No such response was given. Finally, once and for all, the reporter gave up. They went back to their own business, found their own place to haunt and call their home. And when a smiling young boy with a journalist's notebook asked the same intrusive questions, he too would leave him without acknowledgement.

"It's okay if you don't want to answer... I don't mean to be a bother to you like I am to everyone else..."

So the cycle continued.

In the towns there was a panic, it seemed that anyone who claimed to see a ghost who had ignored them soon died after their encounter. The methods were not investigated, and names were never placed onto the faces of the victims. Nobody ever seemed to care about them, and their souls left without a trace.

Odyssey was never discovered, and all who encountered him gained the same treatment, and the same demise. He never cared, for nobody had cared about him. His mother treated him like he didn't exist. His father treated him like a pest. His school treated him like a science project... The final straw the ghost who he had found days before he decided that he would never be anything more than an annoyance.

He knew the truth.
