Occupation: Alvonse works at a circus with my other Viscet, Marvus. He is the ticket man, though he'd like to be upgraded to a full showsman when he gets the chance! He dreams of a life away from it all, where no one knows who he was born as, and where he can just be himself. Of course, he can be himself here, however, he dreams of a life that's a bit bigger than peanuts and showtricks. When he's not cashing in tickets, he's working inside the booth and helps sell concessions. Due to his personality, he quite easily sells more than enough to earn his keep at the circus.
Where do they live: Alvonse lives in a small trailer, where he shares it with his 'adoptive mother' at the circus. It's small, cramped, and he doesn't have his own room, however, he's grateful to have a roof over his head. He helps his adoptive parents cook, clean, and earn his keep. He was kicked out of his real parents' house when he came of age, and the circus took him in, something he's very grateful for. He does his best to be friendly and kind with anyone. Outside the trailer, he has neighbors of all sorts, including the StrongCet (strongman), the bearded lady Viscet (someone who he admires) as well as the animal tamers.
Whats most important to them + why: The thing that is most important to Alvonse is the freedom to be oneself. One should never hide who they are for the sake of anyone else, and he knows that all too well. There was a time where he wasn't honest with himself, or those he loved, and kept an identity that would only keep those around him happy. However, it kept them happy, and that was enough for him, at least for a while. However, he eventually changed that, spoke his truth, and as a result, ended up on the street. Alvonse thinks it's the most important thing to be free to be yourself, and he will gladly follow that belief until the ends of the earth.
Because of this, he dreams of moving to a new town, where no one knows who he really was before all of this. A few 'cets recognize him from when he wasn't known as Alvonse, and although they're nice enough, it does make him quite uncomfortable. If he moved to a new town, he would truly feel free to be himself, with no barriers, no polite nods, etc. He dreams of owning a tailor shop one day, where he can make his own suits and also make himself look spiffy in a brand new suit. He's still saving, one penny at a time.
A short story about this viscets past written by you:The trodden-down Viscet skulked through the street, rain pouring down onto his thick coat. He had nothing on him; not a penny to his name, nothing more than the fur on his own back to call his own. And, he was alone, wandering the streets of his hometown as he tried to find someplace to take shelter. However, he was being turned down at every single corner; no one wanted to let in a ragged-looking young Viscet without their parents. Dejected, the Viscet made for the nearest highway out of the town, not thinking much on where he was going.
As he walked, the pavement gave away to cracked asphalt, and, eventually, just wooden paths. In the distance, he heard music, and the sounds of animals. Alvonse glanced up, looking around for the source, and then, he saw it; a giant red tent in the middle of a field, standing out for all to see. There were lights inside, people funneling into the tent, and animals waiting outside. Curious, he started trotting that way, wanting to get a peek about what the hub-bub was about.
"Excuse me little lass, where do you think you're going?" The ticketmaster asked gruffly, glaring down at Alvonse.
"A-actually sir, I'm a, um....boy." Alvonse tried correcting them, stuttering and looking away. "I just...um...wanted to know what was going on in there."
"Well, there's a circus in town, dontcha know?" He asked. "We play every Friday night; haven't you heard of us?"
"N-No, sir...."
"Well, well. Just this once...I'll let ye in for free." The ticketmaster slipped him a freebie, and Alvonse dashed in.
What he witnessed in the circus changed his life forever, as he watched the 'weirdos' of society flaunt themselves in a ring, as if they were the most amazing things in the world. And they were!! And the Viscets watching adored them. Alvonse wondered if, for a moment, he could find a place here. He didn't have a home...however, he could still work!
"And let you work here but have no home? Preposterous!" Marvus, the ringmaster, was loud, boisterous, and charismatic. Everything Alvonse wanted to be, save for the loud and boisterous part. But he was certainly friendly, and he had already agreed to given him a job! Cleaning peanut shells, but...it was something!
"I don't have any money for a home, sir..." Alvonse tried piping up.
"We'll have you live with Esmeralda until you get back up on your paws, little laddie!" Marvus patted his head. "You can pay your rent when you're a wee bit older, okay?"
"Um...okay!" Alvonse chirped. Gratitude washed over him. "Th--thank you sir!"
"My pleasure! Everyone's welcome here, in this little circus of mine!"
