Owner's Name: aray17
Dog's Name: Stunned by the Sequoias // Suha (means forgotten)
Other pets and their personalities: here are all of my dogs:
Golden Hills Baltics. Suha gets along with all of my dogs because they are all easy-going and well behaved. Her bad habits did not rub off on the other dogs luckily. Her best friend is
Lyra. Lyra is very energetic and very obedient. Lyra is so easy to train and was a very good influence on Suha. Lyra would nudge Suha when Suha wouldn't obey me. Suha got guilted into obeying me so she could keep her friendship with Lyra. Davidson, Everest, Althea, and Harley are my four mischievous dogs that push the boundaries at times. They like to run off the trails during trail rides but know when they have to obey me. They are Suha's four play buddies who she can be wild with and run around like a mad dog. Zavier, Roy, and Ford are very strong leaders and never disobey so they are strict on Suha.
Are you willing to put in the time and effort to train your new dog? yes! I have a lot of patience and know how to discipline my dogs very well when they misbehave. I also have many ranch hands on my ranch that are very knowledgeable and helpful with training dogs.
Do you know what heartworms are and how they are prevented? Yes, heartworms are transferred by infected mosquitoes. They are treated by 60 days of shots
Are you willing to make any changes or special alterations in order to accommodate any special needs your new dog may have?: I would take her to extra discipline classes and would feed her separately and keep her in my spare horse stall, away from the other dogs until I could get her to stop nipping. When she nips over food, I take away her food. To get her to stop being such a smart alack, when she disobeys or does something naughty, I take away her beloved blankie and toy and that helps deter her from doing it again. I now store all food and treats high up on a locked cabinet shelf so she cannot open it to get to the treats and food. She won't be a part of any of the racing teams for a while until I am 100% sure that her nipping habit is gone and that she is ready to take and listen to orders. If she nips other dogs or people, she is put in a stall all by herself and she has to stay there for a while. Length of how long she is in the stall depends on how bad she nips. To train her to pull a sled, I will train her individually then add dogs as she progresses. I will have her pull sleds with logs or hay on it to get her used to pulling something heavy.
What may be a reason that you would return this dog?: The only reason I would return her would be I died or if she could not stop nipping no matter how hard I tried.
