Dia De los Muertos, or more commonly known, Day of the Dead/Saints!
Since I'm Spanish, Day of the Dead is very special to me and my whole entire family. I really want to see you work hard on this, so I want you to research and make your form the best you can! You may order art, but making your own will increase your score. I also want a short story 500 max. This video may help a bit more :) For bonus points, use a Day of the Dead related palette and use the colors with your form. There will definitely be runner-up! Add is 55%. End date is on November 2nd. Good Luck!

back story ~ amalia was a very calm
and relaxed pp, she used to
sit at home and ready and
study. she's never really
been to a party or anything
like that. she was mainly
home with her family. that
was, until her father passed.
her family would always
celebrate dia de los muertos,
and even though amalia is
Hispanic she never celebrated
it with them until he was gone.
now she celebrates it every
year and not only is she happy
to celebrate it she does it
with her family!

muertos is feeling the presence
of her familia around her.
Something Special ~ amalia
is an amazing face paint. She
hopes that one day she could
become a professional face
paint artist.
How she celebrates it ~ amalia
celebrated with her mother
and grandparents mainly,
but her whole family gets
together and putting up
the beautiful ofrendas.
they put candles, buckets
of flowers, mounds of fruit,
peanuts, plates of turkey
mole, stacks of tortillas and
big day-of-the-dead breads
called pan de muerto. they
have lots of food, bottles of
soda, hot cocoa and water
for the weary spirits. but
they put out toys and
candies for the angelitos,
and on nov. 2, they add
things for the adult spirits.
her grandmother make
sugar skull sculptures,
and amalia and her mother
paint them, bright and
beautiful colors with
beautiful designs. This is
also one of her favorite
parts. they also make tons
and tons of tortias to give
to family's and neighbors.
Then she paints sugar skulls
on everyone's face. She's
very talanted and everyone
loves her face paint.
Extras ~ the reason
I picked the name is because
its my great grandmothers
maddan name. She was
beautiful and an amazing
woman who lived to be 100
years old. I miss her very
much and when ever my
family and I celebrate dia
de los muertos, I pray for
her!

Primrose was always a joyful child, even after both her parents died. One might think that this would be peculiar in a child's behavior. Primrose went to live with her Abuela and Abuelo in Mexico. Her parents had not been to see them in a long time, so having Prim was a joy. At first Prim was not her usual self, though her grandparents did not know this. She would sometimes go without talking for an hour or even have a Día del Silencio, or Day of Silence. Prim's Abuela began to worry about her young Nieta. Therefore, when she was able, Prim's Abuela told her about Dia de Los Muertos. Prim didn't seem very excited so Old Abuela took her to her mother’s grave. Prim sat there for a long time and cried over her mother’s death.WIP

This holiday allows Prim to be able to feel close to her parents, and have one day where she can believe she has a normal life.
Something Special:
How she celebrates it: Prim and he grandmother spend all morning cooking her parents favorite foods, making beautiful flower arrangements, Calaveras and painting each others faces. They then take everything to her parents graves and then decorate it like a beautiful garden and a picnic.
Extras:
Prim absolutely loved painting Calaveras. Prim began to experiment with other things. She put chocolate, coconut, yogurt, juice. Prim liked being able to make her Calaveras edible. Prim especially liked making ones with chocolate because she could use icing and sprinkles to decorate them. Prim would take them to the cemetery and eat them as desert during their picnic with her parents.
