What are they?

Puffin-Snouted Lizardtails, better known as "Puffsnouts", are a colorful mammal slightly resembling a bird, a dog, a lizard, and a cat. They have large, stout bodies, are approximately three feet in height, have a large, scaled and furred leopard gecko like tail, a furry body, and a beak-like face. Their ears are similar in shape to that of a deer's. They are very intelligent, having their own complex language and able to learn the language of other animals and humans. They mainly eat fish, fruits and meat, however they do not eat birds. They have small, but very sharp fangs and long claws that are retractable only on their front paws. They live in groups called "Clouds" ( EX: A Cloud of Puffsnouts ) that claim their own territories, but are usually peaceful with their neighbors. Puffsnouts are from another world and are, in a sense, "portal" animals who have the ability to travel to other worlds by use of their ability to create and close portals. They enjoy swimming, and their thick coats are somewhat waterproof. For Further information, visit the About Section.

Personality: shamrock is very playful, often jumping around and frolicking. she will lay in the grass for hours, picking at flowers and tearing petals off. her favorite plant is a vine maple, a tree with nearly circular leaves are red-tinted when new, light green as they mature, and then orange, scarlet, or yellow in the fall.

Short story: once, as a young puffling, she ventured out far past her parent's boundaries, where giant butterflies flew overhead, and various fungi gripped to tree trunks. she gazed, in awe, walking under vine maples and cherry blossom trees, the petals and leaves blending together into a beautiful red-green and pink collage. she stayed there, splashing in the stream that surprisingly stayed uncovered, where she played pirates and queen of the forest, until her mother called her home. and everyday after that she heads down there, snoozing or counting what seemed like endless butterflies.

Personality: Basil is often quite shy but once she warms up to you she is very energetic! Her friends often joke and call her "Bae"sil because she acts like everyone is before anyone else! She loves her alone time to sun and read a book on a sunny day.
Extra1: As a young puffsnout, Basil's mom taught her how to garden. Their home was surrounded by a glorious garden filled with all types of plants. Basil loved to sit in the garden and watch the butterflies and bees as they flew from flower to flower. Her favorite part of the garden was herb garden. She loves the smell of herbs and how they tasted. Gardening always reminds her of home and she always keeps flowers around. Basil is often found in her garden tending gently to her plants and always smells like the outdoors with a hint of... well, basil! Therefore, Basil's favorite food is slices of tomatoes (from her garden) with mozzarella cheese on pieces of toast with a balsamic glaze and basil sprinkled on it. Her favorite drink is peach tea with a few tea leaves.
