WHAT IS A MAKOATL?
A Makoatl is a terrestrial shark-dragon hybrid recently discovered off the coast of the greenland sea. They have the powerful tail and jaws of a shark, with the body and (occasional) horns of a dragon. They usually have manes, and are covered in thick coats of fur-adapted to keeping out the cold in their native habitat. They live on a diet of mainly meat and fish, and are known to be vicious hunters! Despite this attitude toward their prey, however, they are very protective and mothering to their offspring, as well as to each other the majority of the time.

How did she get those scars?: She was being her shy self and didn't want to get near anyone else so she ventured off by herself and she got lost. Finding herself in a predicament, she panicked, and as doing so she got caught in a snare, but she quickly got loose, only to find out that she had caused damage to her body.

How did s/he get those scars?: He loves roses, and ran into a rosebush to smell them. Unfortunately, the thorns of the roses are really thick and pointy, so they got caught in his pelt.

How did s/he get those scars?: Those scars were the result of a fateful hunting competition. Scarlette had been diving deep into the sea in hopes of hunting down rare prey, but her tail had poked into an octopus, which caused it to squirt a jet of ink at Scarlette. Blinded momentarily, she flailed around in the water and unfortunately scratched herself badly on a human machine with many, many jagged edges.

How did s/he get those scars?: Ariel takes pride and care in rescuing animals of the deep sea who are in trouble. She had a friend, another Mako, who got caught up in some fishing nets and wet to save him. When she cut him loose, the wire thin threads' ends had beed cut to a point and they cut at her as she drug him to safety.

"Well, haha I'll tell you! It's nothing bad, no worries. But okay, so one day I was shredding some sick waves off the coast when this crazy girl fierce predator decided to charge me down, throwing me into the water and as she did so I got a handful of claws kicking at my belly. I got hit pretty hard but what I wanted to know was why did that just happen. I mean, I'm not mad or anything. I hear the ladies like scars. But anyways, I turn to find the girl creature and I come face to face with a polar bear. Guess i know why she was running.

You ever hear how fast or how strong these things are? Well, whoever told you; THEY'RE WRONG. Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong. That sucker wasn't even full grown but had me underwater in seconds, it must of been rabid or something I bet. But anyways, so I kicked out, girl forgotten, and managed to swim to the surface before the bear had me by the leg. It just wouldn't give up. So I start scrambling in the water probably looking way too stupid for a Mako like me, manage to kick again, right in that loser's nose. I guess it got real mad after that because it tore near holes from my spine to halfway to the knee all a sudden. Stung like a mother but I guess it got it's reveng. I swam to shore real quick, and I don't know when it stopped chasing me but it did. That was a bit back when so honestly I'm lucky I made it.
