WHAT IS A MAKOATL?
A Makoatl is a terrestrial shark-dragon hybrid recently discovered
off the coast of the greenland sea. They have the powerful tail
and jaws of a shark, with the body and (occasional) horns of a dragon.
They usually have manes, and are covered in thick coats of fur-
adapted to keeping out the cold in their native habitat.
They live on a diet of mainly meat and fish, and are known to be vicious
hunters! Despite this attitude toward their prey, however, they
are very protective and mothering to their offspring,
as well as to each other the majority of the time.
WHAT MAKES A MAKOATL?
Makoatl (plural, MAKOATLS, MAKOES, or MAKOS.) have several
species-specific identifiers to look for. The first and primary one is what's
called 'the ring.' There can be more than one, and they can be anywhere-
but EVERY SINGLE MAKO has at least one 'o' shaped marking on their body in some place.
A mako without an 'o' is not a mako!
Besides the necessary 'o,' Makoatl can be very different in appearance.
Hair, the presence of horns, and accessories can be varied. Most makoes
DO possess a mane of sorts- any mako with less
is incredibly rare, and more hair than usual is equally uncommon.
Makoatl ALWAYS possess the tail of a shark (or shark-like tail)
as opposed to the tail of a dragon, as well as the back fin of a shark.
Horn-wise, Makoes can possess anything from antlers,
to ram horns, to unihorns, to 'dragon' horns. There is no limit to
the kind available- BUT, not every mako has horns. More often than not, they have
no horns or antlers to speak of!
Accessory-wise, every Makoatl is different. Some collect natural things-
shells, coral, starfish, scales, things of that nature- and attach
them to themselves with fishing line or cords. Others collect nothing at all
and are bare of any accessories. It overall depends on the individual!
THE RULES OF THE MAKOATL!
- Staff members ARE allowed to enter contests, given they have the same chance
as everyone. You are NOT allowed to backlash against a staff entering.
- There will be no thieving of Makoatls, nor bribery tolerated! Zero tolerance.
- Makoatls are not allowed to have powers unless they are specially made.
Normal adopts cannot have any type of powers.
- You will treat every staff member and makoatl owner or lover with respect.
- Staff is APPOINTED;
please do not ask for staff member spots or try to take on staff spots.
Don't minimod; there are already mods in place.
- Customs will not be open at any point. They are generally reserved for
staff and special events.
- Any one person may own up to four Makoatls at any given time,
not including any specials won in contests or raffles. There is NO co-owning Makoes!
- Makoatl's can NOT be your fursona- sorry!
-They can love and crush on other species.
YOU MUST, however, follow the other species' rules.
- They cannot breed with any other species at this time. Nothing
out of the blue!
SELLING, TRADING, REVAMPING = NO
- You may NOT sell for any currency or revamp your Makoatl.
- If you no longer wish to own your Makoatl,
message the artist, and it will go back up for adoption.
- If you are banned from Makoatls, staff reserve the right to revoke your Makoatl.
You may not post images or share your Makoatl(S) publicly and you cannot post in
any Makoatl-related post.
- You CAN gift Makoes, but you must notify ♥Talon or Chim
