After the events of yesterday's stumble, Alli was hesitant to return to the crop fields, but she was worried that she would be letting Liz down, so she ultimately decided to return anyway. She figured she should get it over with first so she didn't have to anticipate it for the rest of the day, but planned to go see what the news was about the loose duck, whom she worried about. But she tried not to let that distract her, after all, she didn't want to trip again.
The splotches heifer approached the shaded booth next to the field, wanting to see if she could scoot past Elizabeth and just get right to work on collecting the produce. She hoped she hadn't seen her trip yesterday and that she wouldn't bring it up, Alli would rather pretend it didn't happen.
As Alli came upon the edge of the field, she heard the familiar voice behind her, welcoming her back for another day. "Well I'm curious now my dear! Where are you from?" Liz began. Alli stopped in her tracks, her heart jumping just a little. She slowly turned around, "Uh, well, currently I live at Red Robin Ranch, a farm a little way that direction," Alli gestured with her nose. She watched as the other cow's blue eyes flickered in that direction, before once again resting on her, waiting to hear more.
"But, I have heard rumours that there is a possibility of relocation, although I'm not quite sure where that is yet, or if it is actually going to happen or not, I suppose we'll see." She stopped for a moment, "I suppose you want to know more?" she stammered. "I personally think it's a lovely place to live, there's a lot of open space to roam, and not a lot of strict rules. There's a cozy barn available if we wish to use it, it provides great shelter for those to don't enjoy the rain, or snow, or wind."
"My favourite thing about the farm is that because it isn't super secluded or closed off, my love, Basil, is able to come and pay me a visit as often as she would like," the heifer's bovine cheeks beginning to glow pink.
"This relocation might pose a threat to that, unfortunately though," Alli mumbled. "But, if we had unlimited funds and possibilities, I could imagine it being so much better than it is already. I can't think of too many things I would improve, except maybe more space to roam, or a special place for Basil and her heard to stay when she comes to visit, maybe then she could visit for longer. Ideally, it would be somewhere with abundant wildlife, I would adore seeing some cute little critters more often. Oh! Maybe we could even adopt some barn cats? That would be the cutest!"
By this point, Alli had begun to ramble. "I could decorate my own little space, maybe a stall? I bet Bloom would help me bring in some pleasant little flowers to brighten up the place. I could even put some food out for the mice." After realizing how long-winded her speech was becoming, she decided this would be a good place to stop. "I'm sure you're tired of me talking by now, I should go start collecting the crops, huh?" Alli nodded to the older heifer and turned, entering the field, looking forward to the mindless task, and to continuing her daydream.
