With a little shrug, he's leaving the keys and pushing them off the main trail with his foot a bit. People seemed desperate for these keys and he really didn't want to infringe on that mess by taking these keys.

Do they pick up the keys or leave them? - Alice looks at the silver objects gleaming in the faint light. Part of him wants to pocket them, but he can't bring himself to do so. He leaves them on the path, praying someone else might pick them up so he can't carry the guilt.
