NA Snake Fact:
the eastern hognose which is found throughout north america is famous for its dramatic defensive behavior. it flattens its head to mimic a cobra and hisses. if that doesn't work, it just resorts to playing dead (complete with emitting a foul odor to convince the predator its rotting)
