Halloween preparation is an ALL OUT event. Carved pumpkins, at least four all with a theme and
a candle inside. Inflatables? Sure. Fake spiderwebs are all across the yard, fit with small fake
spiders and huge ones alike. A witch's brew cauldron with steaming dry ice, a large coffin with a
skeleton inside... Everything imaginable for decorations. Then comes costumes- only the most high
quality are acceptable. Every year is a different costume, and if Colt can't find one to his standards,
he'll make his own. Of course, he's a bit too old for trick-or-treating, so he wears his costume to give
out candy to the kids who come. Colter has made a reputation on his street of being the one giving
out full-sized candy bars, among a slew of other things- he rarely has any leftover. When Halloween
is over, well... he leaves the decorations up until Christmas time comes around. Then a whole new
set of decorations are put up.

bern smiled softly down at the thing he had in his palm; the thing's clawed fingers gripped to his cotton glove, hanging as it would to its mother normally.

the baby bat eyes were huge; as it blinked at him, the tiny creature ushered another grin to burst from bern's face.

as a wildlife rehabilitation specialist, it was important for bern not to get too attached; it was only that much harder to let go of the animal and release it if you had a connection with it... but....

bern had a special place in his heart for bats; halloween, while most found it a happy time of the year, was a dreaded day for bern, for rowdy teenagers often scared bats out of their boxes, leaving kits like this one on their own, unable to fend for themselves.

as bern tucked the bat into a mesh enclosure that he'd set up in his living room, the bat clinging to a cotton replica of it's mother, bern curled his feet up under him in an armchair, beginning to knit more bat-moms, for this little guy would not be the last to arrive at his house on this spooky night.

What do they do to prepare for halloween?:
Rowena goes to Michael's craft store and buys everything that even looks remotely Halloween-y or spooky and she buys it. Her house looks like a spook-fest 24/7 and she likes it that way! Cobwebs in every doorway, purple and orange string lights along the top crease of every room, skull shaped goblets and bowls of candy on every table. There's no "preparing" for Halloween, she lives it everyday! There's simply "buying more Halloween stuff to clutter her house with"!

"What do I do to prepare for Halloween?" the bubbly kalon asked excitedly, making you wonder whether you should've asked.
"Well... for starters, I have to decorate! The yard isn't big but I usually use a nice skeleton aesthetic, not very creative, I know, I know. Oh, wait! Before I even begin decorating I must put on that one song... Oh, what is it? Yes! Spooky Scary Skeletons!"
The kal gives a somewhat sheepish smile.
"So sorry- I am a bit forgetful this time of year; so much to do! Anyway- decorating is important, but why tempt trick-or-treaters to your house if you don't have anything to give them? There was one year, oh yes, when I forgot to buy treats and was handing out toothpaste! Oh my, what a year that was! Though i'm sure my dentist would've been proud... Anyway, we were talking about treats. I always buy candy corn, of course"
He smiles, giving you a 'how-obvious-was-that' look.
"Speaking of candy corn, I wish they'd sell it all year round! It is quite good, so sweet, and such tempting colors!"
You back up, hoping to escape staying another hour as this kal chats on.

First Barlok starts counting down the days, then he's asking his friends what they're doing? Parties? Trick or treating? Costumes? Should we organise them now? Are you excited? I'm excited he tells them, as if his friends hadn't noticed. They don't mind though, Barlok's energy is contagious, next thing they know they're carving pumpkins and hanging webs. He organises everyone, making sure everyone can help, or go to parties and has something to dress up in. No one is left out.

What do they do to prepare for halloween?:
well, homemade caramel apples? always a plus.
and when he dresses up as a terrifying ghost and swirls those fresh apples on sticks in his pot, turning them into caramel apples and plunks them ready and fresh into a bag for the trick-or-treaters right in front of their eyes? well, lets just say he's the favorite spot to hit on his block, which may or may not be a good thing, considering his popularity. He has to prep well, if he wants to get to as many trick-or-treaters as possible! Making the apples fresh before those before him, reminds him of the time he wanted to be an actor. He gets a kick out of how many children he can excite just through an apple-on-a-stick and a pot full of hot caramel.
