" Hello. My name is Meriq Marquee. You may recognize me as many a character. Please, do come in. "
The mysterious man of many movies
When Pigs Fly: A struggling city boy finds himself in the slammer after stealing a wallet, and an old farmer decides to get him out if he agrees to work at his farm for 4 months. During the stay the boy falls head over heels for the farmer's daughter, who happens to be the same age as him. In this story of classic romance, love will blossom, hardships will be overcome, and pigs will fly.
Actor's Note: " I will never, ever, ever forget this experience. It was wonderful playing the city boy, and feeling the pressure on me from the farmer. This movie was all I could ever hope for in a job! "
Actor's Rating: " ★★★★½ Stars. This was one of my favorites! "
Midnight Everlasting: Ever since the 1800's, there have been stories of lycanthropy. Little did Maggie Mae and her older brother Derek know that the town they were moving to was the town where lycanthropy was first created. The witches that originally tortured their victims with the affliction cursed the town for every night to be a full moon. They soon after faded out of the history books. Almost everyone here is a werewolf, but do Maggie and Derek have what it takes to save the town from this curse?
Actor's Note: " Playing Derek was an interesting experience to say the least. I liked his character, and immediately clicked."
Actor's Rating: " ★★★ Stars. Plot was a little hard to follow, but the action made up for it at least partway. "
Ancients: In a faraway land known as Mertok, there lived a peaceful village nestled in the mountains. The village was said to be guarded by huge stone giants that supposedly are hidden on the misty mountaintops. When a curious young lad hears this tale, he decides to climb the mountain to investigate. Alas, the legends are true, and he befriends and introduces it to the town.
Actor's Note: " The scenery was beautiful, the movie was shot in New Zealand far away from any city. I remember one day on the set we were so hungry, we started chasing the wild chickens! "
Actor's Rating: " ★★★ ½ Stars. It was not a very exciting movie, but being the boy and seeing him bond with the giant was quite heartwarming.
The Long Run: When a dysfunctional couple find out they're expecting, they decide that maybe it's time to put a ring on it. In this hilarious comedy, you get to see the raising of a child that grows up in his family's crazy antics.
Actor's Note: " Sometimes I wonder why they chose me as the role of the father. This is nothing like I've ever done and I hope I don't have to do a role like this again. "
Actor's Rating: " ★½ Stars. This movie is so cliche its almost as if I've seen it 100 times. The only saving grace of the movie was the comedy, but then again, it was slapstick and cheesy. "
Things to tell to today's tribe
Name: " My name is Meriq Marquee. Meriq is pronounced mare-ick. You should know how Marquee is pronounced, however. "
Gender: " Male. Though some think I am female at first glance. "
Short Biography: " I was born in a small town in France, in a rural area where there were fields of tall grass and meadows. I became interested in acting my first year of highschool, when I took the first of many drama classes. It was the highlight of my school day. One day, a traveling theater came to our town, and they needed somebody to play the lead role because their actor was ill. I was the last one to audition, and Ii got the part. I did a great performance, and the theater offered me a job as an actor. I couldn't refuse, and soon I became well known. I was offered a premiere in a movie, and then I slowly made my way to the top after that. "
Favorite Things: " I've grown particularly fond of paper, it feels nice in my hands. I can only assume this is from the papers I have to grab when play my violin. Oh yes, and that is another thing I enjoy. I love classical and commonly drink green tea while listening. Did I already say that green tea is my favorite drink? Oh nevermind that. I enjoy old movies, the silent black and white ones. I also love simplicity and taking naps, as odd as that may seem. Nighttime is not my friend, and I can never seem to sleep. That is why I often look tired or droopy eyed, and what had earned my nickname, " The Sleepy Actor. " Getting back to the topic on hand, I also like cats and using alliterations or " fancy " words. Good luck understanding some of the things I say, but then again, i'm only a bourgeois. Farewell foes and friends of this fairly frugal frenchman!"
note: I may not get to post this by end hour, so i'm posting this now. Will edit if I have time.
