Fact: “The Red-bellied Black snake has a widespread distribution in eastern Australia occurring in swamps, forests, woodlands, and even urban areas in the region. It is one of the few large venomous snakes still found in the Sydney region. This species more commonly resides near dams, streams, and billabongs. They are even capable of staying submerged underwater for more than 20 minutes.”

Fact: Australia is home to over 190 species of snake, 25 of which are toxic to humans and 20 of those are among the most venomous in the world. Despite Australia harbouring many of the world’s most dangerous snake species, snakebite deaths are rare and only account for about two deaths a year. Statistically, you are more likely to be killed by a dog or a cow than a snake.

Fact: Pygmy pythons are also known as anthill pythons, as they're often found in insect mounds, preying on the geckos that also have insects as their food source!

Fact:
The Common Tree Snake (Dendrelaphis punctulatus) is a non-venomous species found in eastern and the northern tropics of Australia. It is a species that does not constrict it's prey of frogs, skinks, fish, small reptiles and eggs - even though it lacks venom. Instead it uses its sharply angled back teeth to "chew" it's prey down the esophagus.
