On Sale today! Limited time only 2.99 Teddy Bears!! I peered through the glass windows and saw the beautiful pink and blue bear that I had wanted for months. My eyes began to wander, and lit up seeing a huge pack of Haribo Gummi bears for one dollar!!

I ran home, planning everything out. I already had 29 dollars, so I could buy 5 teddy bears and 4 packs of gummi bears! Or 4 bears and 9 packs of gummi bears! I skipped down the street, eager to get home.

Once in my room, I opened my piggy bank, expecting cash to rain out like in my favorite music videos. Instead, a few rusty pennies clunked on my wooden floor. I couldn’t believe my eyes. 3 cents? I had to find a plan to make money, fast. Through my window, I saw a lemonade and cookie stand on the other side of the street. I was going to make a food stand. And I was going to put that puny lemonade stand out of business.

After planning things out, I decided to go to the state fair the next day and open a booth. I was so excited!!

The next day, I realized I hadn’t planned out or made any food to sell! I freaked out, my dreams crushed. I scrambled through the kitchen and found only ½ bag of chocolate chips, ice cream cones, rainbow sherbet, mac and cheese, and a pack of hot dogs. My spirits raised. I had the perfect idea. I turned on the stove and cooked the kraft mac and cheese, separating it into 6 different bowls and coloring it. Rainbow mac and cheese? Done. Though it looked anything but pleasing, I didn’t have any time to spare. I then boiled the hot dogs. It was indeed the grossest thing I had ever seen, but nothing a little rainbow sherbet couldn’t fix!!

I got to the fair and set up my lousy booth. My cardboard booth was nothing in comparison to the traveling restaurants. After waiting for an hour or two, my first customer finally came. She was hesitant at first, after all mac n’ cheese in a cone with a hot dog, a scoop of rainbow sherbet, and 5 chocolate chips didn’t sound appetizing. Reluctantly, she popped a dollar bill into my jar, along with a 50 cent tip. Already on a good start! To her surprise, the combination of cheese, meat, sherbet, and chocolate was delicious! My rainbow mac n’ cheese with hot dog and sherbet in a cone became a hit! By the end of the day, I had sold out, and had 58 dollars! I was shocked! I could get 10 bears and 8 packs of gummi bears! Or 5 teddy bears and 28 packs of gummi bears! My head was in the clouds. I walked to the corner store, excitement radiating from me. On the way, I passed an elderly kalon who was sitting alone under a tree.

I sat next to him and started a conversation with him. Apparently he had lost his job and had no family members to go to. I handed him my 58 dollars, wishing him the best of luck. When I got home, I felt the happier than if I bought those teddy bears. I felt something in my heart. I felt compassion. Besides, there was always tomorrow. I went to bed, feeling the happiest I’d been in, in years.

    Purple Great Grape
    Orange Tango Mango
    Yellow Boppin Banana
    Pink Strawberry Shortcake
    Blue Blueberry Cream

or you could get the duds!
    Purple Monster Toe Fungus
    Orange Catfood Surprise
    Yellow Yellin' Earwax
    Pink Franken-Fish
    Blue Salty-Oceanwater

Good luck and may the odds be ever in your favor!

Growing up Lucy was always helping her family run their carnival's food stands. Winter, spring, summer, fall. She always helped, grumbling about it for her entire childhood. She wanted to be free in the summer like the other kits, but either her uncle or her cousin or her grandma or SOMEONE always asked her to help out. And Lucy isn't the type to say no to family. So she toiled in the kitchens, frying funnel cakes and making lemonades, until the time came that Lucy's grandmother passed her stand on.

Turns out Lucy's a master at making new treats. Fried oreos? Check. Loaded nachoes deep fried and coated in cheese? Check? Master of funnel cakes? Check. Well, all that was boring now, so Lucy came up with this insanely cute, deceptive smoothie to tempt the masses(and as revenge for working all those summers). Her first taste-tester was her uncle. He had never been more proud and simultaneously disgusted in his entire life. And Lucy? Well... She makes it a point not to point out her warning.

prompt a bizarre food item for their
food stand, and why they created it!

At Ivory's food stand, fittingly called "Ivory's Fast Snacks & Odd Snacks", she sells a variety of snacks, like chips, cookies, fries, hotdogs... you know, the good stuff! Everyone loves popcorn, but at Ivory's Fast Snacks & Odd Snacks, the master of the show, Ivory, lets the customer go wild with disgustingly crazy combinations, some of which have earned their place on her menu! Her personal favorite creation, and her very own #1 rated "disgusting but exceptional" is popcorn tropical boyou, a sherbet sundae treat topped with worms (sour/gummy or nightcrawlers - its up to the customer!), supa spicy popcorn w/ lime soda flavored gel icing underneath the sherbet at the bottom of the bowl. You're allowed to add more though, of course. A popular addition is the swamp algae and kale, with some minnows if you're a fish type-of-kal!

Initially, Ivory had made this delicious treat for her nieces and nephews who loved it, but they have since passed. To honor their livelihoods and wanderlust for crazy food, Ivory brought bizzare food to her food stand! It's grown to become a unique part of her business that she utilizes to spread food consumption awareness, debunk misinformation and become very wealthy, often donating to charities based in Africa, Russia (specifically pro-lgbt charities in Chechnya) and countries in states of crisis without a stable source of clean water and the nutrients they need.

Renown for her traveling circus, Prism and other oddities, she is referred to as the ‘Ringleader’ by fellow employees and customers. Others applaud her for her brilliance and creativity in crafting what was to become one of the most popular energy snacks in the region she travels in: the ‘circus bonanza’. Originally made to help workers at the circus get through long and arduous performances, it contains typical circus foods, eg. popcorn, cotton candy, lemonade, etc. and a shot of what Prism often refers to as ‘pure energy’. At the festivals that follow her circus’s performances, she’s the proprietor of a small stand that sells her circus bonanza’s by the half dozen to eager customers. The snacks popularity had originally been boosted by an Australian journalist, who after attending a festival in Melbourne, referred to the treat as ‘circus life in a snack’.

Rainbow Popcorn

Postby cribunni » Mon Feb 25, 2019 10:24 am

Her rainbow bun bounced wildly as she ran around her booth, quickly gathering her ingridients together. She was late again, and the customers would be here soon. Raine had been struggling to come up with a good idea for months now, the campaign giving her one last chance to sell at her booth. “No profit, and you’re out, Raine. We can’t afford to rent the booth to you if you don’t have anything to recooperate.” The head campaign manager had been very clear with her; she either come up with a ground breaking idea, or she leaves. Raine shook her head, blinking hard before squaring her shoulders and getting to work. She put a smile on her maw despite herself, the forced stretch of muscles soon becoming real. She dumped the first ingredients into separate containers, each then receiving different food coloring. Pink, yellow, red, blue and green. She poured each container into the machine, flipping the switch as she added in the oil. Soon enough the lights of the old machine blinked themselves to life, the cheerful snapping noises bursting from the center. Raine smiled as heat radiated off of the machine, watching as her newest masterpiece came to life. Once the machine was done, she took white and red striped containers and scooped the treats out, placing dozens of them on the counter of her booth. She grabbed the rainbow sprinkles, dusting a generous amount over each container.

Just in time, the bell rang as the gates began opening, customers pouring in to look around in joy at the long lines of booths. Small children darted between booths, pointing and laughing at all there was to see. Raine was sprung out of her thoughts as an elderly couple waddled up to her booth, smiles wide. They bought two containers, laughing as they watched one another eat generous amounts before leaving hand in hand. Three small children came to buy from her, and eventually she had a long line of people buzzing in excitement. Raine turned her machine back on, cooking more treats for her customers. She put out her closed sign as she continued to make more, kalons sitting on the benches waiting impatiently for Raine to open again. The crowd was loving it. Raine looked up in surprise as the head campaign manager walked up briskly to her stand, paws clasped behind his back. He looked at her counter top with raised eyebrows, and she noticed a small smile begin to play at his maw. He silently slid a $5 bill across the counter, picking up a container and popping a green piece of popcorn into his mouth. “Rainbow popcorn.. not what I was expecting.” He ate a few more pieces, his grin much warmer than Raine was used to. “Good job.” Raine smiled as he left, his popcorn grasped in his paws. Now this was a good idea.

the sun beat down on a rather bland day at the
carnival. nacho had hoped that his summer job
would be interesting, but most of his eight to
four shift was spent waiting. while food stands
tend to be quite popular, the one he worked at
could barely manage getting seven order in eight
hours. this stagnant flow of customers could be
blamed on multiple things. you could blame it on
the fact that they had only three menu items
(corn-dogs, cheese sticks, and something that's
probably meat), the location (at the very back of
the park), or the fact that there was already
twenty two deep fried food stands in the carnival.
and so, the vast majority of his time was spent
waiting. and waiting. and waiting. until someone
stumbled upon the stand, only to end up going
to get the newest deep fried monstrosity of the
month instead. the cycle of waiting, waiting,
waiting started again.
nacho couldn't handle it anymore! it was all too
boring for him. he needed to spark up interest
somehow. his mind raced for an idea, until he
finally got it. he needed to create his very own
monstrosity. "can you tell randy I'm taking my
lunch break?" he yelled to his coworker as he
raced out of the stand. the door slammed before
she could even respond.
it was hotter outside of the stand than it was
inside it, but nacho's mind was too focused for
him to care. using what money he had on him, he
bought food from a total of four stands; ice cream
with toppings, apples and caramel, pickles, and
popcorn. though upon his return, his coworker seemed
more surprised about his ability to get back on
time than what he got. pitched in from what they
had and from his own pockets. while making it,
nacho had amassed a small crowd of people outside,
namely from those who worked at the stands he
had ordered from. the cheap fryers could barely
even fit his unsightly creation by the time he was
finished.
the lumpy ball of sugar and fat was nearly the size
of his head. it had (and continues to have) five layers:
- the outside layer, made of pickles and peanut butter
- the second layer, made of popcorn and butter
- the third layer, made of caramel and apples
- the fourth layer, made of cookies and cream ice cream
- the core, a large piece of bubblegum
"so, who wants to try it?" he asked, almost as if he
had expected the crowd to form.
crickets.
hmm.
"I'll give you a hundred dollars if one of you eats it all in half an hour."
people immediately rushed up to the stand. the
rest was history. this oddball (quite literally) became
the main attraction of food stand. while officially
known as the fried gobstopper, it is also referred
to as the "cannonball", "the deep fried surprise",
and "oh my god what is that thing". the challenge
is what originally made it popular, however it has
now become a fairground favorite due to it's unique
blend of flavors.
