Legend wrote:There once was a story of a Flitz who roamed the woods, only visible by the light in their tail. It is said that they would scoop up small Flitz and take them away, never to be seen again. However, that story is only an old wives tale to scare away young Flitz from wandering into the woods at night. The true story of the Flitz is of a much kinder, gentler soul, named Taru.
Now, no one knows Taru's true name, only the name that the stories had made for them. Though, some who have lived around the places where Taru lives has come to know them as Shamira, a guardian of the forest and those that live in the depths of it. But, before we get to that, lets start at the beginning.
Back when Taru was first seen, many thought them to be a monster, someone that would steal and eat young Flitz. Many would tell along a false story of the litter of pups that were stolen by Taru, and who were never seen again. They would tell of a hideous monster with a skull for a head and claws the length of an adult's ear. Tell of the light that came and stole their small pups away in the middle of the night after a too-long adventure into the forest. Told of the red markings on the skull said to be from the small pups. That's what they told, and for many a generation, this was the Taru. A beast who ate small pups and adorned themselves with what was left.
However, as the years went on and many got more curious, a few brave Flitz adventured further, later, deeper into the woods, some to explore but many to see the Taru with their own eyes. The expected a beast with no remorse.
Instead, they found Shamira. The quiet, introverted guardian who would use their tail to light the way back out of the forest as many of the brave explorers got lost. They helped bring them home and made sure nothing dare come near to harm them.
They didn't find Taru, a monstrous beast. It was impossible to find the beast in the woods. Taru never existed. The only beasts were the Flitz that started the stories of Taru.
Now, amongst adult Flitz, Taru is only a wives tale. Taru is fiction. A legend.
But Shamira? Shamira is a caretaker. A guardian. One who watches from afar and keeps those it sees safe.
Taru is a legend. Shamira is real.
