Why?: Cyrus inspired her towards her dream all her kithood, never letting her give up or think she couldn't do it and now that she's not only a great artist but has her dream job tattooing others, she wants some way to thank him. He's a sad soul, she knows he tries to seem happy but colorblindness obviously gets him down. So she's decided to gift him with his first tattoo, a bunch of beautiful flowers in shades of black and grey to prove to him that a lack of color can still be beautiful. And as that one fades, she replaces it over and over with different, beautiful things.

Standing below a treehouse in the dense forest she held a package.
To: Nico

She held her breath for a bit, almost regretting the decision. She then called out his name.
"Nicooo! Its Ruby. I, uh, have something for you!"
A male kalon peeked its head over the side. Their fluffy hair brushing smoothly to one side as their eyes black like the night shone down at her. A grin quickly spread across the hidden boy's face in recognizing the girl.
"Hey Ruby! I'll be right down." He jumped off the deck and landed hard on his paws in front of her, hesitating for a second then letting out a held in breath. "Hey I survived!"
"Don't ever do that again." Ruby said with annoyed glare. "You could have broke something."
Nico tipped his head high and puffed his chest. "Lucky for me I'm so strong."
Ruby couldn't help but blush, thankfully her fur could hide it. She cleared her throat and Nico noticed the box she had.
"Oh? Whats that?"
"Its for you." She said quickly handing it to him.
"Wow, really?!" He began to tear the paper away very slowly, making Ruby more anxious.
"Well? Open it already!"
"I wanna keep the paper. Its so nice." He quickened the tearing and then opened the box. "Wow.." He pulled out a black crescent moon necklace and placed it around his neck. "Oh wow! This is so cool!" He then looked at the moon more closely. "Is this some sort of stone?"
"Its Onyx. I didn't know your actual birthstone but..I thought it fits you well."
"Yah..and thats totally ok! You really know my taste." He gave Ruby a warm smile. "Thanks Ruby."
Ruby's eyes darted to her paws nervously. "Its, heh, no problem."
They stood in awkward silence before Nico let out a groan.
"Oh no..I don't have any gift for you at the moment.."
"Its alright!" Ruby said. "Your happiness is all that satisfies me." She gave a reassuring smile at the end but Nico still looked unsure.
"Can I tell you something?" He asked.
"Of course."
Letting out a long sigh, Nico's sunshine face turned darker. "I've..never really had any friends before. You're my first one, and I wonder why you choose to be. I know I can be annoying, but yet you stick with me. Why?"
"Well thats easy." Ruby said with a short laugh. "You're so funny, imaginative. Your annoyance is really just a bubbly personality, and that really completes me when I myself am so bland."
Nico's eyes widened. "I complete you?"
"Erm, yah totally. I should be thanking you instead for putting up with me being a big grouch."
"Well, I suppose. But I say we complete each other. I make you imagine the possibilities, while you show me the reality. "
"I guess.."
Nico looked at the present once more, rubbing a finger to feel the stones cool surface. "But really, why did you give this to me?"
Ruby thought about it for a minute.
"Other than being nice, I know you've been through some tough times, and you somehow made light of it. I thought of you as the moon. Shining in the darkness."
"Its only because you light me up." Nico laughed.
"I..uh..oh. I didn't think of that. I forgot the sun was the one-"
"Dont nerd out on me now." Nico joked. " I get it. I know what you are trying to say. Really means a lot, again, thanks." He stretched out his arms.
"What are you doing?" Ruby asked, confused by this weird display.
"Come on bring it in." Nico said, coming in closer.
"No." Ruby said seriously before giggling. "No stop it."
Nico finally got her to agree and they awkwardly hugged, laughing the whole time during the embrace.

At the airport, Ramona stood fumbling for the right words.
Her niece, Ruso was about to leave on a journey he had dreamed for forever. The lion plush Ramona had gave him when he was only a kit, was now tucked under Ruso's arm, even though many would say he's too old to carry around stuffed animals around with him.
Ruso was so much like her, and watching him grow up made her feel as if she was re-living her childhood memories. All the shows and trips Ramona took Ruso to swarmed in her head.
It would be years at the least till the next time she would see him...
"Hey, aunt Ramona..? I-I feel nervous.. what if they decide they don't want me there..?"
Ramona gave a soft laugh
"Oh, Ruso! Don't worry, they'll love you! What's not to love about you! You have the most unique way of thinking, and you have the skills to back it all up."
Ramona stroked Ruso's cheek
"And of course, you're so sweet and compassionate, you'll meet so many new people and make so many new friends"
She said acutely aware of Ruso's insecurities.
"I'll miss you so much aunt Ramona... you'll call me, right?"
"Of course, of course! I'll miss you too... you have to tell me about all the cool new things you learn, okay?"
Ruso gave a small nod with the sweet smile of his
Ramona undid her necklace and placed it around Ruso's neck. A thin golden chain with a rather tiny pendant, barely noticeable other than the sharp reflection of light.
"This necklace gave me so much luck. It is now your turn, you'll do fantastic, don't you worry"
Ruso gave Ramona a tight hug before heading towards the entrance.
Ramona smiled and waved at him with a smile,
bittersweet and nostalgic.
