Sea breeze and seagulls flying free. The coastal gales were passing by, strong and wild, like nothing could hold it back. Waves lapped against the shore, the tides calm and eager today; waiting...

Seashells were sprinkled onto the sand, seaweed of earthy colors and other debris were scattered across a swell. The tides were low today, pools engraved into the rocks. There, creatures of all sorts lay still, waiting for the high tides, to be swept out to sea, back home. On the low edges of the jagged rocks, worn down by time, there sat a siren, singing his lonely song. Blue shimmery scales, torn wings, and a sad smile. He hoped someone would hear his voice, but sadly, no one could hear, the lonesome song of the siren.

Zimiri, son of the seven seas, born out of the seawater and spiraling currents. Born a siren, a symbol of the sea, a creature that was dangerous and lured sailors to the ocean, before drowning them. Two things were wrong here though, Zimiriwas a siren, but he was a male, not a female, and he certainly didn't sing-song anybody to death. A misconception, a misunderstanding. People were wary of sirens, for their dangerous past brought others bad luck and sometimes death if inevitable. He only wanted someone to hear him, recognize him, for his voice was a powerful trait of his. Its soft melody, melancholy and inviting. On nights of the moons, full or crescent, he would look about the ocean's edge, wondering if anyone, anything, could hear him through the night. Soft glows lay on the rippling waves, medusa jellyfish were floating on tops, letting the waves move them towards land. Under the moon, the creatures of the sea were restless, and so was Zimiri.

Birds of white, flying high, calls of the ocean, windswept sand, and the smell of salt. This was life everyday, near the ocean. The beach was empty today, only the scuttling of crabs and gulls could be heard. Life was too quiet, too lonely. He sat near the tidepools, gently placing his paws in crystal clear water. Only something in the corner of his eye distracted his attention away from his paw. The sight he saw didn't surprise him, rather, it made him confused. A kalon in a white flowy dress was walking across the sand, hair curly and a light brown shade. She had a sun hat with a small sunflower and a blue ribbon. She kicked up sand and it flew right back into her face. Zimiri laughed, a heartfelt laugh, a once in a lifetime thing. The kalon must have heard him because she turned right in his direction. He hid behind the rocks, Zimiri was always shy, but at the same time, he always wanted attention. Unfortunately for him, the girl found him, she smiled brightly, the corners of her mouth lifting up. She climbed on top of the uneven rocks, nearing him. "Hi there! My name's Kiyoshi! How about you? Dazed, he looked at the ground, not wanting to catch gazes before replying softly, "Zimiri." It was awkward at first, but they talked; Kiyoshi mostly initiated the conversations, Zimiri was too timid and he rarely talked to people. They soon got more comfortable, they kept talking and talking, like there was no tomorrow. Ever since that day, Kiyoshi would always come back for more.

Every day, for who knows how long, the two were inseparable. Kiyoshi showed him around the lands, while Zimiri showed her the ocean, the seas, and the stars that seemed to smile to them at night. The stars out near the ocean where quite brighter and prettier than the ones inland. Nebulas and celestial objects galore littered the night sky. They ran and jumped together, hand in hand, nothing could bring them down, nothing. They danced in the moonlight, moonbeams hitting onto them, bringing out their features. They sang like songbirds on high, their voices joining in harmony, a sweet lullaby; a melody. Their voices echoed around the lands, the sea creatures and the ones on land came over to see the commotion, only to find the two singing together. The others watched from afar in awe. Zimiri was overflowed with joy, someone was not afraid of him, someone was singing with him. Zimiri was radiant, he was delighted, for he, was no longer alone.

» Kiyoshi and Zimiri went on their path of life and decided to build a house near the sea cliffs where they first met. They now spend their lives making music together and enjoy the peaceful life by the oceanside. Zimiri thought Kiyoshi would hate him because he was a siren, but she didn't. They both learned more about each other. Kiyoshi is sweet and caring, while Zimiri is more on the silent and shy side, but they both worked out perfectly.

» Zimiri is best friends with Kiyoshi because they're both different. They only swim in freshwater though since Kiyoshi is very sensitive to salt water. They swim on Sundays since they have nothing to do.
