Favourite Childhood Memory::When Sakura was younger, there was nothing in the world that he wanted more than a puppy. He begged his parents for weeks on end to get one, but they continuously refused, saying that the were 'too messy' or 'a pain to take care of' or 'just too loud'.
You see, Sakura's parents where kind neat freaks. Well, not exactly both of his parents, mainly his mother. Their house was spotless, and his mother and father were almost constantly cleaning things. Sakura on the other hand, was the complete opposite. He would track mud on the carpet, knock over vases, and bring animals into the house, and each time he would do anything like that, it would drive his mother half crazy. He was grounded a lot as a kit... He didn't exactly the nicest or most understanding parents in the world.
But eventually, Sakura had enough. After school one beautiful Thursday afternoon, when the cherry blossoms were falling from the trees, he went to the local pound. He had never been there before, since his parents had basically sworn never to go within 100 yards of that place, so sakura was a it nervous when went through the main door and heard all the dogs howling and barking at each other. There were at least fifty dogs in that pound, and most of them seemed quite aggressive, except for one little puppy that was huddled up in the corner, frantically looking around, probably terrified of the other larger dogs.
The puppy was very fluffy and brown in color, with blue eyes and a dark coloured patch on it's back, and as soon as Sakura saw him he fell head over heels in love.
Immediately Sakura told the head dog catcher that he was going to take it home, and as soon as he opened the cage to let Sakura go take a closer look at the dog, the puppy came bounding towards him with a friendly bark and began to aggressively lick him in the face. And just like that, Sakura took a dog home.
He walked home with the puppy in a dog carrier, and to his relief, he discovered that his parent's weren't at home. He immediately went upstairs and began to prepare his room... Putting a bowl of food and a bowl of water in his closet, basically completely lining the floor of his room with newspaper, and getting as many toys that the dog would be able to play with as possible and putting them in a pile in the corner of his room. A rubber ball, a fake mouse, and a tennis ball were all he could find that the dog would enjoy playing with at first, but then he began to improvise. He added an old sock, some fresh laundry, and designer pillow to the pile, and after a deep breath stifle his excitement, he let the dog out of the carrier.
Sakura quickly realized why the puppy had been in the pound. That rascal was very good at destroying things. It almost immediately ripped up the designer pillow, sending feathers everywhere, and then began to tare up the newspapers that littered the ground. And oh boy, did Sakura love it. This little puppy was almost as destructive as he was!
Well, everything was going great until his parents came home... His mother walked in to the house in a fuss, saying something like 'it smelt weird' and something about having a bad day at work.
Sakura did forget to give the dog a bath, so it did smell a bit, but how his mother could smell the dog from that far away he will never know. Almost immediately his mother and father charged up the stairs, ready to ask him if he had brought anything into the house that day, and as soon as they opened his bedroom door, they were ambushed by the dog. The little puppy immediately began to rip at Sakura's mother's fancy dress, and began to bark at Sakura's father. His mother after screaming and frantically trying to dislodge the dog from her dress, looked at Sakura with disappointment on their face before saying "Sakura Theodore Hemsworth, I thought we told you not to bring any more animals in the house!"
Sakura was prepared for this moment. He had been practicing what he was going to say to them all day now, so he puffed out his chest, looked his parents straight in the eye, and said "His name is Max, and I love him."
Sakura's parents glanced at one another, before saying "You said that about a skunk once"
Sakura felt like they had just his him with a brick. "It's different this time! I got him from the pound-"
"So thats why he stinks" His mother said, slowly pushing the dog away from her with her foot. "Go return him please, this house is no place for a dog."
"But-"
"No but's. Take Max back, now, or you won't be able to go out and play with your friends for a month." His mother said, angrily glaring at Max, who was happily scratching behind his ear.
Sakura felt himself start to tear up. He could
not let his parents take Max away from him. "No."
"What did you say?"
"I said NO." He said, anger and sadness flooding into his voice. He was ready to give up everything if it meant that he cold keep Max.
"SAKur-" His mother trailed off, watching as Sakura's father kneeled down to pet the panting little puppy.
"I like him" Sakura's father said, looking up at his wife.
"You can't be serious..." Sakura's mother stuttered, in complete shock.
"Sakura, if you promise that you can take care of him, and that you won't bring any other animals into the house, you can keep him." His father said, standing back up.
"I PROMISE!!!" Sakura yelled, running over to Max, picking him up and giving him a huge hug.
The puppy happily began to lick his face again, as if he was just as exited as Sakura was.
And just like that, Sakura had a puppy. Him and Max came inseparable. They walked together, shared food, slept on the same bed, and even destroyed things together. They became the dream team, the ultimate friends, and they lived happily ever after.
The End :3
