[purpose]
if you were to ask elena why she was still breathing, it'd be hard to respond. there have been many close calls, from dehydration to blood loss. it's been a while, and despite all that has occurred, elena doesn't feel a thing. no one has been there enough than her aki. through it all, past the bipolar mood swings and scary disorder sideeffects, they see her as chance- a longshot, the jackpot. in a very real sense, a walking miracle; not only because she's a cancer survivor, either !

but she sees none of it. elena is as blind as a bat when it comes to how she affects others. she knows aki doesn't need to have her to stay alive; but they stay around, somehow dealing with her nonsense.

elena actually can have a sense of humor- not the type that you'd want to listen to, but more like crude jokes. aki is more for the offensive type of humor, so that's a plus.

she's not all sugar-sweet goody two-shoes, and lies a lot. that's two of the reasons she lost most of her friends and had a giant falling out with her closer ones. she strives to be her best but it never works in the conditions she has been exposed to.

Aki walked beside me, shaking fluffy white flakes of snow off his peachy hair. It was in a small bun, but it still collected little flurries on the base of his head. His violet eyes stared off into the sky, a humorous smile lifting up the curves of his cheeks. Ak' was a very handsome guy, I’d admit, but he's not the cutest out there. Plus, we're more like brother and sister. All platonic, no romantic, and definitely 0% sexual. I'm also pretty sure Aki is gay.

My glasses were being quite irritating. Snow left little dapples of water on the surface, making it hard to see, but I still made my way past people crowding the sidewalks. I sighed, raising and dropping my hands to my side with defeat. Guess I'll be blind.

I continued my conversation. “Well, ‘parently he was the bus driver's son, and didn’t like being called wuss either. Logic. I wasn’t surprised he cried too! Hypocrites, right? And his dad didn't do crap!” I complained a bit, hissing in slight annoyance. We were walking to the bus stop to head to an art convention. Christmas was nearing, a few days less than a month away. Earlier shopping is always best.

We stopped at a curb with a bus sign near it. I could’ve taken my car, but Aki insisted the bus was a chance, a place to see different people. Yeah, there are surely different people on busses.

The light screech of the bus soon came upon us while we stood and chatted about what to get and what might be there. A man who always comes to any convention possible made natural-smelling and naturally-made candles that Aki and I absolutely adored. I believed he had a boyfriend, but none of it mattered to me. Not like I'm attracted to every person I see hAH-. He was friendly and ecstatic and sold damn good scents, so he was cool on my list.

Apparently the bus was ‘high quality’ compared to others. It was decent, but when Ak' and I took the sluggish route, things were… Interesting.
