This song presents whimsy, which is how this character may be described at face value- whimsical.
The lively and more prominent singer is what you see. The duller and heavier tune, you may define for yourself...:: Username ::

Name: Bentley
Gender: Male
:: Personality ::
Calm and cool, Bentley has been called 'emotionless' at times due to his expression being practically stuck on a lazy smile. Under this facade is a caring, playful individual who will fight for what is right, even if what he thinks is right at the time may be wrong.
Personality in greater detail✪ = What he wants others to think, while ✫ = How he actually is/ thinks he is.

+4 Charisma (✪) = Some find his playfulness and curious self attractive, as it goes with enigmas. Bentley's ability to control a situation before it goes too out of hand is also an attractive trait, which many characters who need a firm hold of what's going on may appreciate. His curious garb is also a factor to his charisma, showcasing his knack for trinkets.
+4 Unnappealing (✫) = This is how he
thinks he is. In truth he wears what he does not because he likes them, but because he wants others to think of him as an odd fellow for acquiring them. Bentley does not see himself as attractive also due to his lonesome self- he does not give much care to himself.
+4 Extroverted (✪) = Despite how cool and collected he seems, Bentley likes to have fun! Running around and causing a ruckus is his favorite pass-time, but he never does it without good reason. Some hooligan got in a fit with a cute girl? Time for some justice- we better get mischievous!
+3 Introverted (✫) = Then it falls back down to what
really goes on in his head. Another fabrication, Bentley may enjoy the recognition he receives from his acquaintances, but in the end he wonders why he even does what he does. It's not what he
wants to do, but rather, what he
feels he must do. For what purpose, however?
+2 Logical (✪) = To think, or not to think; he makes decisions entirely off of who seems the most 'intelligent' in the room, and off of things he'd 'remembered'. Although others think he's much like a machine ('I wonder if he's doing calculus in his head all the time...?') he just goes with what seems best.
+4 Emotional (✫) = Being passive as he is, he struggles with his emotional self in an almost constant basis when the topic of decision-making is brought up. There are times Bentley has let his overwhelmingly emotional self slip, but covers it up easy with a reassuring smile and change of subject. Seeing him mess up is the best way to try and coax his true self out in a later time...
+4 Ignorant (✪) = Bentley plays as a fool, acting very oblivious and as if he were in a constant reverie. While everyone around him believes such idiocy, those close to him or watchful eyes will notice how he tends to frown while deep in thought, as if in a deep well of despondency.
+5 Intelligent (✫) = Those who know him
very well will tell Bentley is 'a kalon of quick wit and silver tongue'. Although it may come to a shock to others, his usual play of rhymes and jokes are nothing but constant brain exercises- if you play a fool for too long, you may as well become one.
+4 Laid Back (✪) = Passive as he is, others immediately identify that lazy smile with a laid back attitude. Of course this is
exactly what he wants them to believe, allowing them to be comfortable around him and spill their thoughts, while he, almost selfishly so, never lets a drop dribble down.
+3 Solemn (✫) = This is what Bentley
wishes himself to be- stoic and stern. The idea of being relaxed, of trusting the others around him is so
inane to him, he hopes that his farce isn't his true self... although there have been many times where Bentley actually enjoyed acting upon such ease and friendliness.
+2 Distant (✪) = Going along with his obliviousness, he acts in an aloof manner whenever a situation arises, especially concerning comrades- however...
+4 Empathetic (✫) = ...it is difficult to keep himself from feeling concern. Although his face presents no emotion to what is at hand, Bentley wishes to help who he believes to be his 'friends', who he'd rather call 'acquaintances' in his charade. The reasoning for all of this will come shortly, reader.
+5 Selfless (✫) = This is it. His
truest,
sincerest trait. There is no helping it. Bentley can come across as cold, unemotional and even selfish, but if there is one thing he cannot stop himself from doing, it is giving. Giving is the best way he can show that he cares, and even when he is in a bind he gives to those he loves. Any act of selfishness he may enact in his masquerade will be truly regretted.
:: Poem ::
I can't stop loving you
I've made up my mind
To live in memory of the lonesome times
I can't stop wanting you
It's useless to say
So I'll just live my life
In dreams of yesterday
Those happy hours that we once knew
Tho' long ago, they still make me blue
They say that time heals a broken heart
But time has stood still since we've been apart

The StoryThe basis for his fake face, his refusal to present himself as he is is revealed in his story.
Before I go head-over-heels for details, I shall present the outline of the story as shortly as possible, way before I go out of hand.
In the beginningRecommended listening :: Ray Charles - I Can't Stop Loving You
This song represents the true force of emotion the character withholds. Below the vibrant flora we see is only soil, after all.In the spring, Bentley was born within the hilly meadows of a remote forest to a pair of happy parents. It was him, them, and two other siblings, a male and a female. Being the youngest born was a bit tough for him, since his older brother and sister played rough often. He stuck close to his mother, who he loved very much.
Spring came to summer, where he was able to meet other kalon children to play with. A bit reluctant to go far from mom, he refused to join the others most of the time. With some urging however he eventually came over those fears and went about his way to go and play. It was then he learned of the dangers of the world, watching a youth's tail get stuck in a trap laid by hunters.
Summer drifted to fall, and the traps were becoming commoner and commoner. Bentley feared for his life, thinking about that unfortunate child, and clung to his mother for protection. In that time his siblings were aching to leave, to have a life of their own- but he.
Fall flew to winter, where food was scarce. The family had many unsuccessful hunts, and what meager sustenance they could obtain came from those nefarious traps. Then they, too, fell to them- first it was father, who lost his foot and eventually died of infection. Sister fell, too- a snare took her from this Earth. Then it was-
"Mother!" Bentley cried out, his eyes disbelieving the scene in front of him.
There she was, the one who bore him, the one who raised him, the one who
loved him-
"Bentley! Leave with your brother, now! Go, before the hunters come!"
"I can't, I can't just-"
"
Go."
That was the last thing he'd heard from her. Bentley blindly ran from her, cursing the hunters for laying down those accursed traps- unknowingly, as they were laid for the
bears. The distressed kalon ran and ran, but ran so far he came to a place he'd never known. Here he cried; he moped; the silence.
She and I"Why are you sad?"
Despite the good intention behind these words, Bentley nearly jumped out of his fur. Wide, curious eyes looked into his bewildered ones. A giggle came from that same voice, and the strange kalon playfully pounced about the snow in such a vivacious spirit, it was like a he'd fallen from a nightmare into bliss.
Here he meets his beloved, a kalon born into captivity with such a perfect and sociable demeanor, she was classed as a fine pet for anybody to have. However, she is owned only by an elderly woman, a park ranger of the forests which the wild kalon lived. This one was the one that made Bentley safe, happy, and loved for most of his life after he was rescued on that day.
But as the leaves on trees feel the cold's faintest touch and wither so, we too wither at death's faintest. When we cannot uphold ourselves any longer, it swoops in and takes us away, like the dead petals of dried flowers that flow with the gusts of autumn.
"Bentley? Bentley, where are you?"
He'd tried to free her, to take her away from those people-
"Just put him back into the reserve. I don't know why she'd take him, he seems a bit too aggressive to me."
He couldn't save her, couldn't save the one who
he loved-
"Bentley? Oh, help me, Bentley!"
Where are you?Bentley came back to the forest in which he was born and raised after his owner passed away. His beloved was given to the deceased's daughter, but he did not come with as he 'posed a threat to the children' due to his feral past. Distraught, he was. All that he had that proved they were in his life was the jacket the woman had made for him, the small braid she'd tied for him, the rings she'd clipped at his constant request. Those rings were quite difficult to obtain, he'd think to himself, smiling about how he'd become jealous of a kalon TV star who bore these same rings.
When these memories made him sad again, again, and again, he stopped remembering. He stopped remembering for so long, he'd forgotten how he'd come across these items, and eventually crafted a tale in which he, the star, obtained them by mean of action and victory.
That is how he got his start. He started by forgetting the things that made him who he was, by putting up that facade. This is how he came about such good friends, such amazing and strong friends.
Did he really forget who he was though? Did he really forget all of the regret he had, his disability to save who he
loved?
Remembering things can hurt. Forgetting things may seem like an easy fix, an easy way to get rid of the hurt-
But once you remember again, after minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, even
years-
That is when it will hurt the most.
Thank you.
