Name: Taktuq; inuit name meaning fog
Gender: Male
Explanation:
Though a blizzard was raging outside, Taktuq paid it no mind, almost oblivious to the harsh weather as he sat inside his workshed, the light from his lanterns bathing his polar bear scarf, a symbol of this village, in warmth.
A scarf of thick fur that kept any plumerian wrapped in it protected, long and broad claws that made scooping and scraping snow aside easy, and heavy pads to protect their paws from numbing cold as they dug deep into the snow. A scarf that was as practical of a tool as it was a fierce symbol of their people who made their homes in this landscape.
It was a symbol that Taktuq was proud to bear, and one that he strived to uphold its innovative beginnings with his own tinkering and inventions. To make his village, his heritage, just as proud of him as he was of them. Sitting alone in his workshop night after night, and finally he had something to show.
Alone it looked like a plain satchel, but unclasped, it was a small battery-powered heater. Small enough to take into the field without issue, large enough to heat a small dug out den.
It was perfect.
