I stared at him flatly.
"What?" I grunted. He raised an eyebrow.
"Well, isn't that just the nicest thing to say to me after I go to all that trouble..." he replied, grinning as he nudged the small object closer. I lent down to examine it, tilting my head in curiosity. It was a small blue stone of lapis lazuli [occ; a rare stone often found in underground water caves] shaped in a heart, polished until it sparkled, neatly attached to a white shell carved like a clip. After he realized I didn't know what to do with it, he pressed a paw down onto it and it clicked open. "You clip it into your ear," he explained. "It'll make you look pretty."
"What, I don't look good enough now?" I snorted. He looked confused for a moment, then chuckled.
"It'll make you look prettier, not pretty." he said gently, picking up the clip in his jaws and gently clipping it onto my left ear. "You look nice."
"Only nice?" I felt the corners of my mouth tilt upwards slightly.
"Beautiful." he said, and grinned, before dashing off. "Beat you to the shore, BD!" he yelled as he disappeared behind the cliffs. I wished he would call me Damson.
"Cheater!" I called in return, darting off in his direction. As we neared the shore, the salty smell of seaweed got stronger. I stuck out my tongue, and tasted the tangy, familiar flavour on my tongue.
:: Memories ::
• Was brought up with a JBD known as Pebbles - they'd been best friends for what seemed like forever.
• Lived by the sea, in a cave in the cliffs, with her mother and father. In a cave only five leaps away lived Pebbles and his parents.
• Received her heart ear clip from Pebbles.
• Learnt to love the taste of blue damson plums from the tree that grew in the grassy patch outside her sandy den.

:: Flashback ::
I met his gaze. It was difficult to hold it, because I felt like melting.
"You've been keeping something from me." Pebbles murmured. I felt like crawling under a rock and never coming out.
"Yes." I whispered. A tight clinging lay in my chest.
"I thought you promised to tell me everything?" The pain in his eyes made me feel so terrible I couldn't hold it any longer.
"I'm sorry." Before I could stop myself, little tears ran down my cheeks. "I'm so sorry."
"What did you keep from me?" he wanted to know.
"My parents are leaving the sea and moving to somewhere larger, more habitable, with a larger bean population."
When I looked up and saw the sadness in his eyes replace with anger, I flinched.
"You never told me!" he yelled, jumping to his paws.
"Pebbles, I'm sorry!" I wailed miserably. "Please, I didn't want to tell you because I couldn't bare having to see your reaction!"
"You want my reaction?" he hissed, and lifted a paw as though to claw my face with it. I cringed away from him and dashed away from the clifftop. I heard footsteps behind me. I shivered - he was faster than me, and we both knew it. Suddenly, they stopped. There was a cracking sound and a yelp. I stopped. I turned. Pebbles clang desperately onto the side of the breaking cliff.
He reached out with his spare paw toward me. "Help me up!"
I stared in horror. The cliff cracked further.
"BD!"
I swung out a paw to grab his, but the cliff broke off with a sickening crunch.
I ran. This would forever be a secret no other bean could know.

• Her parents wanted to move out of the uninhabited countryside by the sea and to a largely-populated area where there were more beans.
• Pebbles became furious because Damson kept a secret from him.

Damson, in the simplest manner, is ardent, lighthearted and affectionate, with a strongly humorous side. Her personality is very deep, yet very open. Her sweet attitude may be of good use most of the time, but sometimes staying so loyal to her loved ones makes her own life a little strenuous.
At first meet, Damson is buoyant as ever. She, being so welcoming and loving, will never judge a bean on their looks. She is the life in a party, the light in the dark. Damson is well-known for how forgiving her ways are, and the fact that she can change almost every bean into a warm character!
Damson is more devoted to her loved ones than you would think possible. She hates to see her companions in sorrow, and will do anything to cheer them up. Nothing is impossible to her, and she will never rest until everyone thinks the same.
Sometimes, such a strong devotion can corrupt a relationship [see 'teen years']. Damson has learnt that every friendship [or more] and it's vows of no secrecy can be more difficult than you could imagine.
Damson may be a full-on ecstatic party bean, but she avoids the stuck-up type. Even happy-go-lucky doesn't try to befriend everyone.
This girl is a joker. She adores irreverent or tongue-in-cheek humor. Damson will gladly spend her entire life proving that being entertaining to others is the best feeling any bean could get.

Brief History
She didn't really have a terrible child hood, she had friends that were always scared to talk to her. Since she always would sleep walk and apparently do terrible things when she would sleep walk. That's when he got a lot of the scars on her arms and where her parents got their scars. Her sleep walking hasn't been happening as often, but people are still terrified to invite her to sleep overs.

Her favorite color has always been pure white, she likes the feeling the color white brings her.

Her favorite memory was when her and her father went to the beach to watch Ozzy live in concert. Even though it was super loud, she enjoyed her self, and it's the reason that her hearing isn't that great.

Brief History
She wasn't very rebellious since her parents got divorced she had to go live with her father since her mother was unstable and couldn't keep a job or a house. So she had to be the woman of the house, so she couldn't be rebellious or her family would be completely torn apart if she was.
