The final battle had truly begun.
Cinna didn't know where to begin. How does one go about vanquishing... a weasel? She pulled out her rolling pin and stared at it curiously, waiting to see what exactly it would do. The creature eyed her warily, glancing back and forth between her and the stash of gold, silver, and jewels behind it. It appeared that the weasel had a fondness for such shinies, and that would explain the bracelet around its neck. What she didn't understand was why the stone in the bracelet radiated so many bad vibes that it gave her chills from across the room. It was pretty clear that the band was the source of all the darkness, but was it really a greedy weasel that had willed all the monsters into existence? She found it hard to believe, but then again, it wouldn't be impossible. Giving a simple mind unfathomable power is a recipe for disaster.
The weasel chittered angrily, causing the stone to emit a dark fog which swirled around the creature. Cinna watched in horror as the fog made the weasel grow into a ferocious beast, a giant, hulking creature with blazing purple eyes and fangs dripping with saliva. It let out a roar and lunged towards her, claws outstretched and drool dripping down its jaws. She only just dodged in time, wrinkling her nose as she got a whiff of its horrid breath. She attempted a swing at the beast with her rolling pin, but it only phased through the dark mass, throwing her off-balance when she didn't hit anything like she anticipated. Unable to regain her footing, Cinna toppled to the floor, and the were-weasel took the opportunity to strike.
Cinna flinched in anticipation for pain that never came. She heard the beast's claws tear through a material but was surprised to find that it wasn't her flesh or fur. Instead, it had caught her bag, the bottom of which was now ripped to shreds. The four elemental crystals tumbled onto the floor, and it was then that she had an idea. Now if only she could pull it off without getting herself killed.
Desperate to gather the crystals off before the monster could reach them, Cinna scrambled over to them and scooped them up in her arms. The four relics began to glow as they perhaps sensed the severity of the situation, and she was only happy to let them grow closer as she enacted her plan. She stared the were-weasel in the eyes, knowing the greedy creature would come after the shiny objects. Cinna used this to her advantage, holding the crystals close and making her way to the king's throne as the beast followed, trying to give them as much time as possible to charge up their combined powers. She could feel the humming of magical energies all throughout her body as she held the treasures close, and soon she knew it would be time to unleash their attack. She gently set the elemental crystals upon the seat of the throne and stepped back, preparing for the chaos she knew would come next.
The weasel monster took the bait, as expected. It bounded over to the throne and eagerly grabbed at the shinies, but cried out in horror as it realized it was stuck to them. The room was filled with a blinding light as the crystals released the powers of wind, earth, fire and water, surrounding the beast with an attack that no mortal could wield with their bare paws and hope to live. Cinna had to squint from behind the throne in order to watch; aside from the bright flash, the monster was surrounded by a ball of four incredibly powerful energies. The darkness began to dissipate, and as each tendril of hazy ilk fell away from the beast, the ball of magic closed in even more. The were-weasel put up as much of a fight as it could, but the final result had been obvious ever since it laid its claws on the crystals. As the final clouds of dark smoke fell away, an amorphous form slithered out of the stone on the bracelet. It had the same eerie purple eyes as the monsters that had come from it, and its malicious gaze bored into Cinna's soul until it, too, was torn apart by the elemental powers that had been unleashed. Finally, the ball of energies dissipated, and the only beings that remained were her and the now normal, bracelet-free weasel. The jewelry item in question clattered to the floor, and Cinna snatched it up before the creature could try to add it to its hoard again. The dark purple stone was now dull and lifeless, but just to be sure, she used her rolling pin to smash it to bits. The crystals on the throne glittered with a hint of the power they had just released, and Cinna picked them up before the weasel decided it wanted them again. This was not the case, however, for as soon as the animal saw the light glint off the treasures, it let out a fearful squeak and scampered away. Breathing heavily, Cinna looked around as the dark traces on the castle faded away and it returned to its former glory.
The darkness was no more.
