Name Meaning: Literally, 花淚 means Flower Tears, which were characters taken from from Spring Sight by Du Fu.

It depicts the scene of the fallen city, Chang-An after political upheaval. The poem is cleverly organized where the first two Chinese characters in the first half represent human conventions but it all becomes small in the face of nature; countries that seemed unyielding are but dust to how long mountains and rivers remain. Cities are over taken with grass and trees that used to be carefully pruned. The line 感時花濺淚 could be interpreted as a scene of flowers shedding dew, but it can be the narrator crying over the flowers at the scene of desolation and the flowers gently dip down to relieve the tear's burden from its petals.

The narrator is growing old and is uncertain what their future looks like. Any contact from their family would be worth it's weight in gold, but they may die before any news reaches them. I chose to use characters from the third line because of its reference to flowers and the different interpretations it can have. This fawnae hopes that people would be able to vent their emotions to her and let the emotions wash over the both of them.

Just vent out the desolation so everyone can move past and let spring in.

An archaic rule says that a lady should never reveal her age, nor her weight. Lady Damask is not shy about sharing either of those- they hold no power or sway. She will not however, reveal her full name. As far as anyone needs to know, her name is Lady Damask.

You may be inclined to ask why- and as long as she is not on the job, she'd tell you that it's because she values her life. Lady Damask is both a trader and merchant, the catch being she works nearly exclusively with fairies. If a fairy knows one's full name, they gain power over that individual. If she were to lose this edge, not only would she be out of work, but her very life would be on the line.

Of course, there is more to it than that. Perhaps she's made an unfair deal or 10 with the fae, and perhaps they were not very happy to learn of this after the deal was made. Fairies are very prideful creatures, and to be duped is a grave offense. Rumor has it that the only reason they'll continue business with her is in hopes that she will eventually slip up, and they will be able to exact their renege for previous transgressions.

Until then though, Lady Damask will continue with her snake-oil deals, bringing priceless relics, potions, tinctures and more back into the human realm. Ironically, Lady Damask is not so different from the fairies, and is a very prideful individual herself. You would take care not to land on her bad side, for she is famous for playing the long game, and holding a grudge.

celeste's beauty was very obvious to her and those around her.
everybody knew not to speak ill of her. she dazzled while the others
paled in comparison. but, the world was content.. peaceful, like this.
there was no desire to challenge her. regardless of how rude and stuck
up she appeared to those who were jealous.

but celeste wasn't stuck up nor rude. no, she was quite the opposite.
though she grew up in a nice and wealthy family, she was kind, always
rushing to help others. but did she do it out of the good of her heart?
or to gain something from it?

everything is a blur now,

she can hardly remember the years of her youth as she watches from the skies above.
