Coco wasn’t exactly well liked in Clover’s town, which Clover never understood why since Coco was genuinely sweet. That didn’t change anything between the two of them however, as she would always be her best friend and companion no matter what. Her pet bird was calm and a bit shy in comparison to Clover’s fiery nature, a balance that worked well when it came to companionships. Sure, sometimes they didn’t get along with their differences but it was always solved in the end. They always had each other’s backs; whenever Clover got into trouble that she couldn’t solve by her wits alone Coco came in, and when Coco couldn’t fend off threats to her well being it was where the kalon came in. Often, Coco helped aid Clover with her worsening sight over the years.

Clover and Coco first crossed paths when she found the bird wounded and took her in, unaware that Coco wasn’t a chicken, but rather part of a species of firebird that were rumored to be able to burn down towns with a single stroke of the wings. Still, after the bird recovered Coco kept on following Clover, whom let the bird stay with her. Understandably, many were quite unnerved at the thought of a firebird residing in town. Despite the many attempts the townsfolk have tried to tell her that Coco is a firebird, Clover refuses to listen to them badmouth Coco. After all, even if what they said was true, Coco would still be her friend nonetheless. Firebird or not, Coco would always be a beloved companion.

Maybe one day, Clover could convince the town to warm up to the Coco she knows as her best friend.
