Sacred was bought by the stables, at an age roughly around the same as Lin-Lin. The two became fast friends, and enjoyed doing nearly everything together if they were to be allowed. The hot summer wind bellowed around the horses' manes, making the weather a bit more bearable. Sacred and Lin-Lin stood near the back of the paddock, hoping to be left out of the trail rides executed by the expert guides. They had just turned five years of age, youngsters by literally everyone's standards, but they both had solid heads on them, and were calm around strangers and those new to riding. Hanging out by the fence surrounding the area, Sacred turned to Lin-Lin, "You think they'll come all the way back here to take us for a ride Lin?" Her ears flickered back and forth, seeing a group of riders headed down the trail into the mountains.
Lin-Lin faced the gate as another pair of humans walked through to collect the next group of trail horses. "Well we're about to find out, looks like another group is getting ready before they get their riders." The silver bay said, shaking out her mane. Sacred and Lin-Lin walked along the fence line, keeping a solid distance from the people who were haltering and leading the other horses out one by one. With a heavy sigh Lin-Lin turned her head towards the gate and paced towards it, "Looks like we're the only two left and they're still coming back, must be a big group of riders this time Sacred."
Sacred leaned back and trotted passed Lin-Lin, "Well then we better have some fun before they call us huh?!" She squealed as she picked her hooves up high and brought her head in all collected. "Haha, look I'm a fancy dressage horse." She giggled as she imitated Lin-Lin, who was working towards her first competition.
"That's mean!" Lin-Lin raced towards her to mock nip at her flank, laughing as she galloped before skidding at the gate. "HA, I win!" Lin-Lin exclaimed with her head held high.
"That's not fair! You didn't say we were racing dork." Sacred acted upset, but with a giant grin on her face it didn't look sincere at all. The pair begrudgingly were led to the stable hitches, where they were tacked up for yet another ride with strangers on their backs.
