Prompt;; Wisppaw's name comes from her lore-loving father. He lost his mate and other two children due to a freak accident in a thunderstorm, and couldn't bear the agony of seeing his former family's ghosts around the familiar territory. As a result, he decided to leave his old clan with his only remaining connection to that lost family, his unnamed daughter. It was a difficult time for him, and the only thing that kept him pushing on was the ghostly lights he swears he was guided by; will-o'-the-wisps. He felt his daughter's name was only more appropriate upon the colour her eyes became, a sign from the spiritual beings in the world that he made the right decision.

Despite what he claims, Soulsong did not earn his name by being "the wisest, most deserving of a cool name, awesomest cat in the world." He and his siblings had been named after a footwear theme by their housefolk. His sister was Lace, and his brother was Shoe. Soulsong was Sole. When the tom left behind his kittypet life and joined PetalClan, everycat assumed he meant "Soul" when he was really saying "Sole." Eventually, the confusion was cleared up, but Soulsong decided to stick with the slightly less confusing prefix of "Soul."

Soulsong's suffix comes from his love of sound. He's always making odd noises by tapping the ground with his claws, jumping on rocks, or even humming softly to himself.

Whippoorwillshine got her pre-fix from her time as a loner. She’s had the name whippoorwill her whole life, her mom naming her that due to her chatty nature and sing-song voice. When she eventually joined Echoclan as a warrior, she was given the suffix ‘shine’ because of her bright personality and how she’s always ready to tell a joke and lighten the mood, always seeing on the bright side of life and breaking through the dark.

Pebblefall got his prefix rather later than his siblings. His mother couldn’t think of what to name him, so she decided to name him after the thing he loved the most; pebbles. His first clan lived by a steep hill where small rockfalls were common, so it was no surprise when a few pebbles fell during his warrior ceremony. His exclamation of ‘Ow!’ was so loud that it drowned out the name the leader originally gave him, Pebbledash. When he asked what she’d said, smiling awkwardly, she replied: “I name you Pebblefall, in honour of your tendency to be hit by falling rocks.”

Originally a kittypet living with her mother and siblings in the rafters of a weather station, Cirrus was named after one of the most common types of clouds. Her mother, though she thought it was trivial, related her wispy tail to the cirrus clouds often noted, along with the fact that her head was always in the clouds. When she came to join Saltclan moons later, the name stuck, her warrior name Cirruswhisper given to her after she moved so silently in the night, like a wave of clouds drifting across a pale moon. The only thing that tends to give her away is her white tipped tail, that she keeps hiked up over her back and tends to catch the light no matter what she does.

As a kit, Stickyclaw was constantly making messes. His mother had to spend hours and hours grooming him. He never grew out of that, and even now he often has twigs, mud, spa, or who knows what stuck to his pelt.

In a show of sympathy, the leader gave him the suffix of "claw" for his fighting skills, and in hopes that cats would take the messy warrior a little more seriously.

prompt;; before she joined rimeclan, she'd been a housecat named fairy. fairy had always been a little different - always with her head in the clouds, seeking magic behind every corner and treasuring kit-stories long past the time other cats had grown out of them. when fairy eventually wandered off into the woods, never to be seen again, absolutely no one was surprised.

as with all things, however, fairy herself took this new development in stride. when the feral cats who prowled the woods appeared, she'd remained calm in the face of their bemusement - for every forest had its guardians. and when they'd offered to take her in, under the condition that she receive a clan name, she'd agreed - as long as it was fairyfloss, after the candy her housefolk had so enjoyed. fairyfloss did, after all, follow the naming system.

no one had managed to come up with a proper rebuttal after that, so fairyfloss it remained.

Prompt;; Dovelight was born pale as the freshly fallen snow, as pale as a dove thus earning her name of Dovekit at the time. As she grew, her warm personality shined a light over others, a light that is now slowly fading. She’s become a loner in a short period without anyone really knowing why.
