Personality wrote:Chase is both friendly and incredibly cocky. He’s rather full of himself, being smug and confident. Chase is extremely mischievous and known for not always following the rules. However, once you get to know him, he is a lot kinder than he seems. Chase uses jokes to hide behind – and if he trusts you enough, he’ll tell you the truth about his past. He is one of the most experienced and skilled fighters, and he will use his abilities for the good of his clan. Chase doesn’t believe in Starclan, however, he supports his friends and clanmates in their beliefs – and would never say anything to hurt them.
Chase often has nightmares of his brutal past, and on those days he has extreme anxiety throughout the day and can get rather snappy and stressed out. Other cats know to leave him alone when he has these ‘episodes’. Some things trigger these panic attacks, and sometimes he can feel them coming while other times it happens out of nowhere.
Backstory wrote:Chase was born into a rogue clan – known as the Bloodthorn Band. He is very skilled at fighting due to a way of training that included extremely severe punishments. He lived there for the first seven months of his life – the worst months of his life.
Friends weren’t a thing – it was hunt or be hunted. You couldn’t trust any cats, not even littermates. It was every cat for himself – starting at the young age of 3 moons a cat would begin training in the ‘Irontooth’ method. This method meant cats were training for hours every day, oftentimes into the night. If you faltered, argued or stood up for another cat you would be punished.
However, even though Chase grew up in this harsh environment, his personality grew when he joined Wishclan and he began to become more than a trained robot and his own, individual character.
Chase leaving his home was a hard decision – but he knew it had to happen. Growing up in an environment like the Bloodthorn Band takes its toll on any cat. But Chase was extremely lucky that the chance to leave arose for him. The band of rogues was attacked by a group of canines not far from Wishclan’s territory, and the clan heard the cats’ distressed calls and came to help. Afterwards, while the band was destroyed and scattered, Chase decided to turn his back on all he had known and join Wishclan.
While in the Bloodthorn Band Chase had been scolded and chastised whenever he showed anything other than what their leader wanted, and his anger and need to be free brewed and boiled inside of him. Joining Wishclan was all he needed for his personality to break through and shine. He likes to use his skills to make himself known, because he doesn’t want to be ignored or disregarded ever again. Chase has amazing talent and he knows it – and he wants others to know that his past hasn’t defined him.

"What is it exactly that you want from me?" Hickory asked the dark tabby tom
with a frown. "You want me to join your clan?" The second inquiry left her mouth
before she could smother it. She swallowed, her deep blue eyes looking up
at him.
ThistleWing smiled, his sharp teeth glinting in the pale sunlight. "That is exactly
what I am asking of you... Except." He paused, glancing away, his yellow eyes
looking at the pair's surroundings. "I don't just want you to join. I want you to thrive."
"Thrive?" Hickory echoed, her muzzle scrunching up in confusion. "How exactly
would I be doing that?"
"My dear." ThistleWing swept his large muscled form around the mottled she-cat.
"Thriving is in your nature."
Hickory frowned, but her eyes betrayed her, showing the dance of excitement
in the dark blue pools.
"You will be a miracle on all four paws. Walking with the beauty and grace of my
clan." He mumbled into her ear. "You will stand beside me on the throne, A daughter
to the crown."
Hickory shivered. She had been meeting this tomcat at this so-called 'border'
for moons now, and she couldn't help but feel intrigued to join his monarchy and
clan. He had promised her everything she could have dreamed of.
All she had to do, was follow him with undying loyalty.
"All of my followers will worship you. A warrior princess if you will."
Hickory looked back toward ThistleWing, her head tilted slightly.
"What about your own children?" She asked him.
Thistle shook his head. "They mean little to me. They have only become
disappointments." He explained, tapping his thick tail across her back.
"But you would never disobey me would you?" He asked her.
Hickory shook her head. "Never." She told him.HickoryDream wrote:"Do you promise to follow me without question? To come to my beck and call?

eyes staring down at Hickory.
The mottled young she-cat glanced around, her eyes landing on AdderFire, who
shook his head subtly. Hickory curled her lip. He was a disappointment to his
father.
"I promise." She looked up with a smile as the large tom leapt down to the
sandy clearing.
"Then by the power invested in me, I shall now give you the name "HickoryDream.
You may join whichever rank you wish, and your training will begin tomorrow.HickoryDream wrote:"You will be joining my assassins yes?" ThistleWing asked curiously. His

Hickory frowned and shook her head. "I was thinking of being a nomad." She confessed.
ThistleWing scowled. "that won't do." He told her.
"But you said--"
"I said what the clan wanted to hear. If you wish to become my warrior princess,
you must protect me as my assassin.
"But I don't want to hurt anyone." Hickory's eyes clouded. "I want peace."
"That's not a possibility" ThistleWing told her. "You promised to follow my every

However, of course, what's best for the clan in Adder's eyes were much different from Thistle's. Hickory couldn't see though how ThistleWing could be so evil after all those months of him trying to convince her to join.
And now she had all this blood on her paws that she never wanted.
But her vow to him had betrayed her, and she couldn't disobey him, even if that meant killing cats unethically. She hated it.
She hated the fact that now that she was his 'warrior princess' that she couldn't do anything on her own. Everything was for Thistle now.
"You know I warned you." AdderFire meowed softly, his amber eyes soft as he looked at the she-cat's tormented face.
"I know. But I trusted Thistle more than I trusted you then. You know he calls you a disappointment right?" She asked.
AdderFire's face scrunched up and he nodded, though his eyes deceived him with the sudden flash of sadness that shown through. "He called my brother and sister that too when he initially started creating ThistleClan." He explained with a shrug.
"He trained me to kill," Hickory whispered, catching the chocolate tabby at her side off guard. "He said I was killing bad cats, but really they're all okay. They were not so bad." She shuddered. "I shouldn't have vowed." She said, tears beginning to rim her eyes.
"None of us should have," AdderFire replied. "We all regret it."
"Someone needs to do something." HickoryDream hissed under her breath. "I've been here for moons now, and I've killed too many cats for him. I can't do it anymore."
"We're all too scared though." AdderFire frowned. "I would, but I couldn't go so low as to killing my father." He continued.
Hickory shrugged. "And he gave me everything I could ask for." She shook her head. "I couldn't do it."
"Someone has to."HickoryDream wrote:"I have to."
HickoryDream stared at AdderStar, able to easily make out his outline in the darkness. His deep amber eyes reflected the pale moon as he looked at the mottled she-cat.
"If you think you can do so cleanly and properly, I think you must." AdderFire meowed, his voice hushed. "However, my father isn't a fair fighter, and won't go down easily."
"He trusts me." HickoryDream whispered. "You forget he calls me a daughter. all it will take is a well-aimed blow."
"I thought you didn't like bloodshed. That you never wanted to do this."
HickoryDream shivered and she nodded with a scowl. "But he deserved what's coming to him. And I am one of the only ones capable."
AdderFire nodded slowly, his thick tail waving around his paws. "Then go now, while he's out. Take him out in the darkness and cover your tracks." The tabby told her. HickoryDream nodded and stood, looking around at the empty camp before slipping away into the dark territory.HickoryDream wrote:
Slipping quietly amongst the undergrowth, HickoryDream rubbed up against the thick trunk of a tree, marking the scent along the border. Of course, she still had to do her job, despite being on a different mission.
She found thick smelling flowers and patches of garlic, things that AdderFire suggested she use to mask her scent. She hoped it would work, it didn't smell anything like she usually did.
Shrugged to herself she continued on. The only good thing about ThistleWing was that he couldn't cover his tracks well. The path he took was well trodden, and his scent so far grew more and more fresh as HickoryDream followed it.
As she peeked aroundside another hedge of undergrowth, she spotted him, her eyes narrowed as he walked along the border, marking every few tail lengths to keep the boundary constant.
HickoryDream barely held the growl in her throat.
He took everything from her. He convinced her to join the clan, only to go back on his promise of her thriving.
She never thrived, but with her at his side, ThistleWing surely did.
She flattened her ears as she approached him from behind, but shook out her fur before coming to his side.
"Hello, Father." She greeted with a smile, her gaze warm as she looked at him.
ThistleWing barely flinched, but his face softened at her arrival.
"Ah, hello daughter. Coming to keep me company I presume?" He asked her softly, his gruff meow casual.
A small stab of guild passed through HickoryDream but she nodded. "Yes! It's a beautiful night, no clouds or things that could get in the way of the stars." She answered.
ThistleWing chuckled warmly, and he swept his tail to touch her shoulder softly. "You're a good one Dreamie, I know I'll always be able to trust you."
It was now or never. She couldn't risk him getting on edge. He was vulnerable now.
So why was she hesitating? Why were tears threatening to spill from her eyes.
She bit down on her tongue hard to keep the tears from coming, almost crying out.
"Father I have a question."
She barely managed to speak without her voice breaking. ThistleWing regarded her calmly.
"Are you proud of me?" She asked him, pausing to sit down and stare at his bulky frame.
Thistle paused as well, sitting across from the mottled golden she-cat. He nodded, his yellow eyes welcoming. "Of course I am! You're my warrior princess." He told her. He put a paw forward, a symbol of comradary.
HickoryDream leaning forward, tears 'of happiness' springing from her eyes as she returned the gesture, only to leap forward at the last second and clamp her jaws around his throat.
ThistleWing stiffened, his claws digging into her pelt harshly as he gasped for air. HickoryDream remained in that position until the dark tabby stilled, his eyes staring off in a daze.
Tears really did fall from the she-cat's eyes now. staining the tom's pelt as she leaned forward to lick closed his eyes, giving him a peaceful expression. He died easily, that's all she could've asked for.
"If only you could've been a better cat, it wouldn't have had to end like this." She sobbed, pressing her nose into his thick fur and breathing in his scent one last time.HickoryDream wrote:

personality wrote:HickoryDream tries to be an optimist. Of course this isn't always the best for her. Despite trying to always view things as 'glass half full' it often betrays her. She wants everything to be okay, she wants everyone to thrive. She wants bullies to be exiled. She wants kits to grow up healthy and happy.
However, of course she has a little bit of a dark side.
She has an extremely large guilt complex, she takes the blame for everything, even if she had no part in it. As well she never wants to start conflict or risk anyone getting mad at her. She wants to remain on everyone's good side since that's all she really has now.
She's surprisingly good at lying, though her cover tends to break if the cat looks away. She's quick-witted as well, and can put on a friendly face even in the midst of disaster.
She tends to wear a smile whenever she's around others and only really lets her guard down around cats she's really close to, like AdderStar or HoneyWind.
She can be a little anxious, but only if very serious things are to happen, she never wants to be unprepared. She can be a bit obsessive that way, she always wants to do the right thing and never looked back afterwards. But if the right thing includes bad actions, she can never live it down.
She's curious, and she can be a bit naive when meeting strangers. That's why she never likes patrolling. If she wasn't so naive before she'd never be in the current situation.
She enjoys talking alot, but she also enjoys quite silence, sitting together with another cat, the only noise the whisper of the wind. That's the good stuff.
She tends to be very quiet and reserved around cats she doesn't know very well but can be very loud and childish when with kits. She doesn't want them to think she's an uncool adult.
history wrote:Hickory led a very sheltered life before she came to thistleClan. She was a home-cat, who never wanted to leave the safety of the den. She was calm and quiet and tended to just lay around all day.
Of course, this all changed when she ventured out of her home for the first time in moons, curious of what was beyond the garden. It took a few tries, but eventually, she pumped herself up enough to leave the fence and explore the surrounding forested area that her humans built their den in.
It was fascinating! She never knew just wonders! Everything was green, the grass was soft, she could hear the birds chirping really close!!
It was the best place she could imagine being in.
Until she met ThistleWing.
She had crossed a border and ventured too far in, it was freezing and she was starving. She just wanted to sleep, running into the dark tabby. And despite every instinct that told her to fleed, she had never seen another cat before, only heard of them, wow she needed to get outside more. And she was freezing, almost hyperthermic, she didn't have the energy to flee.
He warmed her up, it was calming almost. Like a warm blanket, she nestled into him until she was warmed up.
He was... nice, despite his scarred and scary appearance. He led her back to the territories edge and they bid farewell. Except Hickory didn't know where to go from there, she stayed at the border till he came back at the next day.
Curious as to why she didn't leave, Thistle started talking to her, she was a smart cat who didn't understand the wilderness. She couldn't hunt to feed herself, she couldn't defend herself.
He had to fix that.
The lessons started soon after, him teaching her how to hunt and fend for herself, they sparred and she soon proved herself to be a worthy adversary. ThistleWing was proud of who she had become.
Hickory loved it, she saw him as a new father, since she couldn't remember her old one. He was protective of her and looked after her health. He even brought a healer out to look after her when she well from too far up.
Life had become easy again, it was fun to hunt and chase.
And then he offered her a spot in his clan.
It took a lot of convincing, and of course she was hesitant at first. But slowly she realized life could get better if she joined her adoptive father in his clan.
She could be his warrior princess.

meeting Thistle wrote:Hickory was cold, she was freezing. The fur one her flank was plastered to her ribs as she crawled along the frosty ground. Twilight was approaching, and she was wondering if she would make it through the night.
A cry left her as her legs finally fully gave out, her muzzle falling into her paws as she as her eyes fell closed. The only thing she could do was curl up against herself into a ball in an attempt to conserve what little heat she had.
She was frail and tiny still, her ribs jutting out from not having any food for too long. She just wanted to be home and back with her humans. She couldn't help but feel like she made a grave mistake going out beyond her fence. She missed the safety of her bed.
She didn't know how long she had been curled up against the cold ground, but eventually, she felt a warm body curl up around her. She whimpered softly, nestling amongst some thick fur and beginning to purr.
Another cat finally began to purr. It was raspy and loud as if it hadn't been done in that specific throat hadn't purred in years. A thick tail blanketed Hickory as she slowly cracked open her deep blue eyes.
Her eyes landed on a need yellow gaze that rested on a scarred muzzle. Hickory gasped in panic, but her aching muscles were too stiff to leap back. Her ears flattened against her head and she began hyperventilating.
"Shhhh." The dark tabby said softly, wrapping himself tighter around the young she-cat. Who was this strange cat?
"Who--" Hickory was unable to get the rest of the words out of her mouth, and her eyes widened in panic.
"My name is Thistle. I saved you."
He saved her?
Thistle must have recognized the look of confusion on the she-cat's face. He let out a hearty chuckle as he looked away. "You were freezing out here my dear, you are lucky I found you when I did." He purred again, his eyes closing for a brief second before he brought his attention back to the mottled she-cat. "Are you warm enough to get home now?" He asked her, tilting his head.
Hickory's mouth fell agape for a brief moment, she was having a hard time comprehending all of this new information. Slowly, she nodded and looked away for a quick second.
Thistle stood up from laying on the frozen ground and his warm was quickly replaced by cold all around Hickory. She shivered but rose to her paws, she would be able to get back right? She looked back to Thistle, who smiled softly.
"Get safe now, you cannot just go crossing over borders. Some cats aren't as friendly as I." He said with a chuckle before turned and trotting off into the frost undergrowth.
Hickory watched him leave, and her tail drooped. What now?

I am the Queen,
