Cat Name: blazeflower
Clan: twilightclan
Rank: warrior
Gender: shecat
Age: fifteen moons
Prompt: her favorite clan tradition would have to be the full moon. every month on the night of the full moon, twilightclan cats young and old travel up the cliffs and onto the plateau across from the camp. they sit all night, socializing, sharing tongues, and watching the full moon. it's considered a very intimate event amongst twilightclan cats, as they believe heavily in astrology and astronomy. blazeflower has been going to these since she was born, and they mean a lot to her. she can even remember her very first one.
-
"blazekit, come along. you don't want to be late." dawnstar meowed, purring softly as the young kitten sat in the nursery.
"but i can't find my feather!" blazekit whined, looking for a little feather she'd always carried around. most cats thought it was weird, but her adoptive mother, dawnstar, had gotten it for her one day.
the fluffy leader smiled and padded over to her, nudging the flame-point kit softly. "it'll be okay, you don't want to miss this."
blazekit sighed. "okay..." she murmured, walking outside with dawnstar.
the walk had felt so long. of course, with short legs and a tall cliff, it was pretty long. around halfway through, dawnstar ended up carrying her, padding in front of the other cats in the clan who were all trailing behind her.
the moment they got to the top of the hill, blazekit gasped. the field was beautiful, the full moon shining in front of them and reflecting on the ocean beyond twilightclan camp. it was incredible. on top of the plateau was a gorgeous, sweet-smelling lavender field and behind them were the cliffs.
she ended up playing with some of the apprentices while the warriors, medicine cat, and dawnstar were socializing and meditating, but she can never forget the first time she saw that view.
-
ever since then, blazeflower has gone to every single full moon. it's her favorite thing to do and she looks forward to it as soon as the last one ends. she hopes to someday bring her own kits up the plateau, just like dawnstar did with her, to show them the beauty of twilightclan's territory and the stars.

Cat Name: Vixensnow
Clan: DeltaClan
Rank: warrior
Gender: female
Age: 36 moons
Prompt: [999/1000 words]
the marsh-frost games
Each year, during the coldest season, most of the Clan leaves the warmth of the island camp to gather in the marshes. Marsh-frost offers plenty of activities and fun, and Vixensnow always looks forward to this annual event with interest.
The Clan gathers to watch - and, of course, play in - multiple events testing a cat's skill, courage, strategic thinking, and teamwork. Each event is unique and carefully planned so that no injuries occur.
In order to prepare, by tradition, Wrenstar selects a few cats she deems suitable for the job. Oftentimes, she joins them. The selected are commonly senior warriors, along with the occasional new warrior or apprentice. The chosen cats, of course, have the choice to decline the offer, for it is long and difficult work - but most would leap to their paws at such an honor.
When she was an apprentice, Vixensnow was chosen. She proudly went out to the marshes with the older warriors to prepare. This included seeking out both sturdy and thin ice, clear areas for spectators to watch and competitors to rest, and the overall condition of the area.
This took several days, from sunrise to sunset, from which she returned back to camp, whiskers frozen and fluffy fur dusted with snow, but eyes still shining with excitement. This task was often too difficult for the younger cats, who longed to patrol or go hunting, but Vixenpaw was more than glad to contribute.
The day of the marsh-frost games is set a few sunrises after the chosen cats finish their work so they have time to rest and prepare. Those who choose to compete and spectate follow Wrenstar out to the marshes, where prey, herbs, and moss had been prepared. Spectators settle down in warm reed nests at each event while competitors warm up with gentle exercises to get the blood moving.
Each day proceeds with the following events, one after the other:
the opening ceremony & the oath
Vixensnow often listened to this part with impatience, tail twitching restlessly and limbs full of energy. Highly competitive, she was always eager to compete. Wrenstar would give a quick speech that was recited each year:
"Today we hold the marsh-frost games, a day of friendly competition. The marsh and cold weather offer us many opportunities to learn and grow, and for that we thank StarClan. Cats of DeltaClan gather together on this day to compete in multiple events, all testing skill, courage, strategic thinking, and teamwork. Remember that there are no losers, only winners. May all competitors have the best of luck!"
All competitors are then given the oath to swear - "I swear by StarClan that I will be fair and just in these games. I will not deliberately cheat or break the rules, and I promise to be a good sport."
I. frozen fish
a few fish are cut out of a frozen river and hidden in an area where the reeds are thick. Competitors are sent out to find it, relying on their keenest senses to find the frozen fish. Each competitor may only bring back one frozen fish, and the first three to bring them back will gain three, two, and one point, respectively.
II. ice-rock
a smooth rock, flat on the bottom, is brought from the lake and put on one of the wider rivers with firm ice. Competitors are split into two teams and positioned on opposite sides along the river. A few smaller pebbles border the section of the river, marking the boundaries as well as the goals. Cats slide the stone across the ice into their opponents' goal. The first team to score three times wins and each player on the winning team gains one point. All cats from either team who scored gain an extra point.
III. hide-and-seek
in a particularly dense area of reeds and marsh plants - usually also the area previously used for the frozen fish event - hide-and-seek takes place. Competitors hide and one competitor is chosen at random to be the seeker. If all hiders are found at the end of an allotted time, the seeker gains three points, and if not, all remaining hiders gain a point.
-- break time! Fish and water is provided to all & competitors have some time to rest.
IV. fox chase
the cats must run through an obstacle course of sorts as if they're being chased by a fox - hence the name of the event. The obstacles include a bit of ice, some thick reeds, and open marsh. Stones are also placed along the path for competitors to jump over. First place gets three points, second place gets two points, and third place gets one point.
V. pebble wars
cats are grouped into teams of three and given pebbles to guard. Each team has some time to find a 'base' from which to defend their stones, and once each team is set, the round begins. Teammates work together to defend their pebbles while stealing from others. No battling is allowed; it's all about stealth, speed, and strategy. The team with the most pebbles in the end of the allotted time gains as many points as they have pebbles, as with the second and third place teams.
VI. thin ice
a shallow river with thin ice is found. Competitors must find a way to cross the river without falling in. Cats are randomly paired up and must work together to be the first pair to cross the river. First pair each gets three points, the second pair gets two points, and the third pair gets one point.
This is the last event so any cats who fell in can be brought back to camp before they catch a cold.
VII. closing ceremony
points, counted in pebbles, are totaled and the top three cats are announced. There is no reward other than pride and bragging rights!
Vixensnow hasn't gotten first place yet - but there's always next year!

Cat Name: Lightpaw
Clan: NorthClan (link in signature)
Rank: Apprentice
Gender: Female
Age: 13 moons
Prompt:- - - - - -
Lightpaw’s favorite ceremony is one she hasn’t even experienced yet- a Warrior apprentice’s visit to the Starpeak.
She loves to hear about it, though. Before an apprentice of NorthClan becomes a warrior, they’re brought by their mentor to the Starpeak to visit with StarClan. Lynxstar created this ceremony in the hopes of bringing each successive generation of warriors closer to StarClan; since NorthClan is still new, still being created, not every cat among them has grown up believing in StarClan. Lynxstar wants to instill that belief, that those who no longer walk the earth are watching from the skies, in his cats the best way he can- by showing them. Seeing for themselves that StarClan cats do walk the skies- and in some cases, even encountering a lost loved one of their own- has deeply affected many of the cats in the Clan.
Lightpaw has heard her Clanmates’ stories- stories of lost loved ones come back to greet them; stories of legendary figures from the stories of FrostClan to impart wisdom... it all sounded amazing to Lightpaw. She wasn’t old enough or close enough to becoming a warrior to make that trek yet, but she yearned for the day when she could visit the Starpeak for herself.

Cat Name: Fweppaw (Dustkit)
Clan: ElmClan
Rank: Warrior
Gender: Male
Age: 17 moons
Prompt: [159 words]
Fweppaw's favorite clan tradition is the naming of kits! All the 'paws gather around and peek through the nursery door for a glimpse of the new arrivals, pushing and shoving for a better look, much to the annoyance of the mother and the older Warriors! Placing bets on their names is a time-honored tradition among the apprentices. It is so competitive that they will often stake rare catches on getting a name right, especially if they can identify the exact kit the name will go to. It's part of their rite of passage to get at least five kit names correct before becoming Warriors.
Speaking of Warriors, Fweppaw's second favorite tradition is the naming of Warriors. Bets are placed among the apprentices over this as well. Predicting your own Warrior name is a rare and special thing, especially since translations are rarely exact. Fweppaw hopes he can one day predict his one Warrior name... hopefully before he gets it!

Cat Name: Foxsky
Clan: CloudclanRank: Warrior
Gender: Male
Age: 17 Moons
Prompt:Foxsky's favorite clan tradition is name changing ceremonies.
While the other traditions happen like clockwork and thus can generally be expected to greater or lesser degree, there has always been an appealing air of mystery over whether (and if so, when) a cat will be renamed.
Don't get him wrong, he feels sad whenever a cat is renamed for an injury or unfortunate event but in the clan he grew up with the renaming ceremonies always held positive connotations. Perhaps the one he remembered best was when his own mother, a young female named Brokenpelt (for the pattern of scarring across her back, due to an attack when she was a kit) was renamed with the much more suitable moniker, Braveswan. The name was meant to commend her courage for continuing to battle as a warrior and also for the beautiful she-cat she had grown to be, despite the marks upon her skin.
Now he always feels joy for cats being renamed and urges the leader to pick something which is not only an accurate description of the cat, but also something which they will be proud to associate themselves with.
