~Daku meets Sakura~

It was a summer to remember,
one that Sakura nor Daku would ever forget.

The day was hot as the cherry blossoms
fell around Daku. Usually he would have been
hidden in his cave from the war but
he needed supplies.
The blossoms that had fallen around him
were now picked up by a gust of wind and
cascaded around him blocking his sight.
When they floated back down his eyes
were caught by the sight of a beautiful
cet' with her katana drawn at his throat.
Her muzzle met his as she smirked.
"Who are you?"

~Sakura protects Kurai~

Kurai had never truley respected her mother,
until the day came she saved her life.

Summer was present as war continued
in the woods near Kurai's village.
She was fighting hard but she lacked the
proper training needed, because of this she
was struck down. Her vision went dark and
when she was finally able gather her bearings
all she saw was her mother standing before her
protecting her daughter with her life.
"If you ever touch my daughter again,
I will kill you!"
From that day on Kurai felt closer
and more appreciative of her mother.

~Prince in nature~

Prince never quite had a fondness for
the out doors, till a camping trip with his son
opened his eyes.

The summer sun gleamed through the trees,
Prince had been forced into going camping
by his son Razmius and his girlfriend Violerosa.
The sound of nature filled Prince's ears as he
took this time to try and relax. Somehow it
wasn't that bad, Razmius and Violerosa had
managed to make the events of the day
bearable for Prince, almost... fun.
Hiking, fishing, gathering sticks, and just being
away from it all changed Prince's outlook
on the outdoors into a liking.

~Iced Coffee~

Summer is hot but so is coffee, and it was this
dilemma that brought Kohi and Juniper closer
to each other.

Kohi ran a small coffee shop in his town,
but since the summer heat practically melted
everyone they would have nothing to do
with coffee. Juniper brought ice with her
today for some water but Kohi poured
coffee on accident.
She and Kohi tasted the mixture.
"Eurika!! the shop is saved!!"
they exclaimed as they added the new menu item
'Iced coffee' they realized that ,together,
they could do amazing things which brought
them closer than ever.

~Broken Bonds~

In the late summer months, darkness
would break Ailith and Azalea apart.

Terror was heard all around as Azalea
screamed at her love Ailith "What's wrong?
please stop this nonsense!". An evil laugh was
heard as shadows gathered around Ailith whom
was suspended over ground with dark magic.
She'd been corrupted by the darkness that had
befallen the world, because of this she became
one whom she was not.
Azalea cried in fear of losing the
one she loved, but to no avail,
Ailith was too far gone. Their bond
of love was broken by evil and darkness.

~Sorbaria Lets Go~

Letting go can be hard, but Sorbaria
letting go of her Daughter was much more.

Zinnia's passion for music finally
kicked off into a career. She was going on a
summer tour soon, but her mother
was reluctant to let her go. She feared
what would happen to Zinnia, if she
would make the right choices without
her mother. After talking to Zinnia she
realized that she had to let go, this was
what made Zinnia happy and that meant
more to Sorbaria than her fear. She learned
to trust her daughter more which brought
them closer.

Friends with dire news.
Kerio wanted some time alone. His father and mother were working, and Tanith, his sister, was supposed to watch him. He didn't want her to. She was a good sister, but being alone with her for hours could get annoying, she was also older than him, so she was the one in charge. A thick forest lined the edge of their property, and that's where Kerio went when he wanted to get away. The forest was serene, the warm green glow lighting up Kerio's brown and mint pelt, warming him through. The forest was quite besides a couple birds chiping happily in the distance, the sound of a waterfall growling miles away. Crack! Tens of branches sung in symphony as a viscet went falling through the canopy. Kerio lept up, his meditative stage shattered like glass by the sound of the incident. He crept slowly forwards, all four stubby legs on the warm earth. The foliage was flattened, smushed by the fallen viscet. He spotted them. A little, pink and yellow furred viscet, patterned in shattered hearts, lay in the destroyed plants, small legs in the air. They got up, looking surprised to see the little viscetling looking down at them.
"ACH! Flying always fails for me. Oops. You're a mortal, aren't you, I'm not supposed to let the mortals see me, I'm on a important and dire mission. A mission that will save the Cloud Realm!" She raised her tiny paw triumphantly.
"Th-the Cloud Realm? Where the angle and cupid viscets live?"
She covered her mouth with her paw for a moment.
"I wasn't supposed to tell you that either..."
"Its ok," Kerio squeaked, "I won't tell anyone, I was just looking for a play mate! You're a viscetling to, right?"
"Yep! Well, I'm a cupid, and we stay young for a very long time!Well... In my case, actually forever, but...."
"Well, can you play with me? My sister won't, but that's because shes a big grump sometimes! Oops! I never told you my name, I'm Kerio! I think Kerio is a river somewhere, like my mommas name!"
"Pretty name, I'm Raspberry. I don't really know why I'm named that though, I guess just a stereotypical baby cupid name, though I've never met anyone else named Raspberry. Everyone else has these fancy Greek names, like my last name, Eros. I'm still on my mission, but maybe we can turn my mission into a game! That way we can play together!"
"Sure!" Kerio chirped, "We can be spies!"
Raspberry looked a him with joy in her cyan eyes.
"That'd be fun!" She pointed to the bag at her waist. "I need to get the scrolls inside this to one of our monster hunters, she was tracking a dangerous demon and needs this info." Kerio's eyes widened, he'd always loved his spy books, and now he was living one! A warm glow shown from Raspberry's paws, her body now hovering.
"You can't fly like me, but just be as quite as possible. The camp is this way." Raspberry flew over the ground like a bird, but no wings kept her in the air. Kerio imagined her a bird. He thought she'd be a pretty rose falcon, the international bird of peace, a magestic light pink bird categorized by the pale yellow speckles tipping their wings. Kerio slunk through the bushes like a cat, watching the flicvking yellow and pink tail that floated in front of his face.
"Do you want me to come down and walk with you? Because you can't fly."
"Sure, then we can play spies!"
The two viscetlings crept through the grass, the trees keeping their pelts cool, the warm breezes soft. They laughed a tumbled through the forest greenery, both delighted to have a viscet their own age to play with, even Raspberry is technically older. Then the time came to finish the mission. They stepped into a clearing, the warn forest grass melting into dry Spears of yellowed grass, nearly straw, that poked your paws like tiny spears. Tents are set up in a circle, the brown feathered general accepting Raspberry’s letters. She pointed a bit to an unhappy looking red Viscet who stood totally still in the center of the tents, scowling in distain, and then walked off with the light scrolls. Keri and Raspberry started to make their way back to Kerio’s home, back through the brilliant forest. They walked in step, chatting happily about summer and their lives, until they met the Edge Of The forest, Kerio’s Home just a little ways beyond.
“Sometimes can we play together again?” Kerio asked, wishing his friend didn’t have to leave.
“Soon,” Raspberry replied, tail flicking absently, “I have some other friends to see, but I’d love to play again. Today was one of the best days I’ve had this summer.” Her paws started to glow with flight again.
“Bye!” Kerio shouted as she flew towards the clouds.
“See ya later!” She paused in the air to wave at him, grinning widely. As she flew past the thin sheet of clouds, back to her world, Kerio hoped they’d see each other again soon. He had his first non sister of a friend.

Kerio (Canon as a viscetling) meets Raspberry.

About my Lindt meeting g1 sunstreaker's Piper

Image

It's Mid-July, and on the way to the airport in Philadelphia, Lindt Bradway didn't even notice the heat from outside the van. He was too engulfed in his tablet, looking over snippets of emails and documents that were being sent from his employer and some coworkers on the same project.
Lindt is a site analyst and bio-engineer who has work in Italy for the next two weeks. There, he will be meeting up with another branch of his team that is working on a new break through for organ transfer research. But, enough of this complicated work, he knew he had to put down his tablet at some point.
Lindt also knew he'd have free time while in Italy to enjoy the sites and food. He's a pretty low-key kind of guy though, so he wasn't overly excited over the matter. Lindt know's he is a bit of an odd ball socially so he'd be happy regardless of how he spent his time.

It's a 13 hour flight from Philly to Rome, and Lindt was more than ready. Making is way to the platform now, his list on what he needed to enjoy his ride came to mind. Which meant he was also saying it out loud as he went towards his seat. "Phone with battery box?--Check. Order a good amount of snacks?--Soon. Weird neck pillow decorated with pineapples?--Ready to wear it."

For most, an airplane ride isn't very comfortable or relaxing unless you're first class. Or in Lindt's case, constantly be in airplanes to get ot meetings. Lindt thought nothing of this trip being special, but he knew he had to make the most of it.

A few hours had now gone by, he had taken a nap, watched The Avengers, and started to listen to his music. It was when he was blasting "The Pina Colada Song" that he rose to go to the bathroom. He hadn't paused it, leaving it playing out his headphones as he walked off. Others hadn't taken much notice of the music since there was a child in the back screaming and other conversations going on. But, a certain viscet did hear it despite all of this. Her ears were pretty sharp, and this song playing was one of her favorites. She sat bewildered. "Who is playing that music?" She whispered to herself. The viscet next to her just shrugged, moving a bit in her seat to get more comfortable.

The girl continued to look around, wondering where the music was coming from, frantically trying to figure it out. She unknowingly was glaring as she sat up to look. This only caused some viscets to either shuffle in their seats or look away. Frowning, Piper eventually gave up, despite her want to find out. Instead, she started the play the song in her own headset and quickly started to space out while looking out her window. As she did so, Lindt passed by, getting back into his seat. Placing his own headphones on, he replayed the song he had missed. The last few hours went past, and the plane had landed right on time. It was now early morning in Rome, Italy. The two strangers, along with the rest of the passengers, went on their way through the airport to their own destinations.

The hotel Lindt made his way to was rather simple, the normal toiletries and a single queen bed in the side of the room. A dark red curtain covered the glass sliding door to the other side of the bed. The room smelled like it was just cleaned and vacuumed. Lindt sighed lightly, placing his luggage beside his bed and immediately taking out his tablet.
Scuffling through his bag again, he found his detachable keyboard and snapped it onto his computer. Moving comfortably on the bed, Lindt looked at the documents he had saved before connecting to the hotel's wifi. Once on, a call came on his skype and he spoke to his boss over the video call about how his ride was and the upcoming meeting.

"Yes sir, I was taken care of well and swiftly once I got here. I rather like this place." Lindt said with his usual quirky smile and nod.

"Good good. I thought it was best to give you a quiet and simple place while you stay. I know you are not one to overindulge."
The man chuckled, before sending over digital documents Lindt had to oversee. Once sent, his boss ended his meeting with another kind comment.
"Do take care of yourself now. These can get done by the end of the week on your time. It's not everyday one gets to be in Italy, you know? I am rather jealous, back here in Philly!"
Lindt shook his head embarrassed. "No, don't be! I miss home, honestly. But, you are right. I'll...I'll do my best sir." With that, the video chat ended and he closed his tablet's screen.

Lindt's face was blank. "What should I do then? Do I go out?" He said out loud to himself, looking at the closed curtains. He laid himself flat on the bed, now looking at the ceiling. "It's mid-day, I suppose. I am wide awake, and could use something to eat..."
Twisting his body back and forth on the bed, he was still unconvinced to sit up. He continued mumbling what he should and should not do for another good 10 minutes before finally throwing himself out of bed.
He changed into lighter, loose-fitting clothes since it was still warm. It wasn't summer like home, but being in the Mediterranean made it almost always warm year round. Once he felt comfortable with himself, he set off on his way. Looking for something to eat on his phone, he led it lead his way.

Meanwhile, Piper had just finished a nice nap in her cozy bungalow's outdoor hammock. Unlike Lindt, Piper was not in Rome for work and some small form of relaxation. No, she was here for a full vacation. Not a worry to think about her mind, at least until she came back! Piper stretched, reaching for a glass of lemonade she had. After a few sips, she looked at her phone. Looking up "places to eat", she scrolled down to find the perfect cafe near her place she was staying at. "Ohh! Awesome, I'm going there!" Piper smiled with a toothy grin, quickly putting on her sandals before skipping her way towards her rented Vespa. With the wind in her hair and the sun shining down brightly, there's no way Piper could ask for a better day!

The cafe's name is Gatsebo Street Cafe, well rated and near the city's center. The restaurant popped up on both of the stranger's phones as most relevant to what they were looking for, so what was about to happen was not a coincidence.

Lindt had gotten out of a taxi when he saw a street vendor speaking in Italian to passerby about tourist attractions. Lindt did not speak fluent Italian but was brought up by his grandmother who had. So, he understood the man pretty clearly. Once entering the shop, he stood behind Piper, who was about to be seated.
He then noticed her and his inner monologue became spoken out loud. "She is quite a pretty girl, isn't she?" Lindt took a moment to realize his statement, but it was too late. Piper turned around, red as a cherry. "Did you just--?"

"Ah, seats for two? Follow me then." The short, pudgy waiter said passingly as he turned.

Lindt shook his head while Piper threw her arms around frantically. "No, we aren't together!" They said in sync.

The waiter eyed the two then sighed heavily, showing them two small tables on the patio beside each other.
"Alright then, I will be back to get your menus then."

Before either could say anything else, the man was gone. "He's quite fast for such a short man," Lindt said, again uncontrollably while scratching his cheek. Piper made a shocked face, leaning towards him.
"You don't have a silent mode, do you?" She said, holding in a laugh. "You weren't serious by the way, ah, were you? About me?"

Piper didn't want to know partially, as she still was red in the face over the little statement. Lindt looked nervous and hid his face as the waiter returned with separate menus. He dug his face into the menu immediately.

"...Un bicchiere di Chianti Classico, per favore..."
The waiter brightened up when Lindt spoke. "Ovviamente!"

The stout waiter then looked to Piper, who was confused but cleared her throat. "Ah...do you have pina coladas here? Or just pineapple juice?" The short waiter nodded, a bit let down by her american preference of a drink. Once the waiter began walking off, Piper turned back to Lindt.

"You speak Italian easily, are you a local?" Lindt shook his head, still not looking at Piper. He was trying so hard not to open his mouth and not to think. If he even thought of something, he'd say it, or that's how it felt in the moment. Something about her made him speak out his monologue freely. He wasn't quite a fan of it, but he certainly didn't want to freak out her with it. How tiring it was explaining himself every time to each new stranger...

The girl made a pouted face. "You don't have to ignore me, you could just tell me you don't want to talk."

"I apologize. I am afraid I have caused you trouble." Lindt said, pushing the menu down to the table. His golden eyes met hers'. "I do know some of the language, Italian that is. I was raised by my noona...grandmother who spoke it fluently."

His eyes quickly darted to the ground. Looking into one's eyes isn't something he can do easily.
"Social manners...Social etiquette..." He murmured before speaking up. "M-my name. It's Lindt, Lindt Bradway. What is...your...name?"
Lindt was struggling even harder to look back up, but he knew he had to be polite.

"Piper. Piper Nebulon." She said with a wide grin. Resting her chin on her wrist, she tiltied her neck a bit. "You're an interesting fellow, Lindt. May I eat with you? Hope that's not weird, we are sitting beside each other anyways!"

Piper was speaking like her normal, comfortable self now. Unlike Lindt, Piper had no issues with talking to others. She just had to feel him out. But, the guy could say what was on his mind whether he liked to or not. Piper thought she had no filter, but Lindt took the cake.
Lindt was shocked. The lady didn't just shrug him off? Or politely nod and go about her business? She wanted to continue talking to him! Lindt's mouth dropped, but for once, nothing came out.

Piper giggled and sat over to the opposite of him. "I am was going about this trip alone, but making friends along the way was alsoin my plans." Piper started, explaining why she was in Italy and what drove her. She didn't care whether or not she had companions. Lindt didn't say much but instead focused mostly on her discussion. Once and a while he murmured how the food or wine was, but was silent otherwise. The waiter who had come back and forth had an amused look on his face like he knew regardless the two would've ended up sitting together.

Piper then asked something the guy tried to pass by. "So... you didn't tell me. Did you mean what you said, about me being pretty?"

Lindt was wide-eyed, but he his mouth answered on no command. "When I say things out loud, they are my opinions. My thoughts."

Piper frowned a bit but nodded, taking a bite from her meal. Silence fell for what seemed forever. Breaking the tension, Lindt then looked over at the street beside them. It was almost dusk now. It was then he noticed time was going too fast, not slow. He found it very odd but refreshing. A small smile appeared on his face as he looked on.

"I thought you were pretty, and you certainly are."

    x
    indent
as chiyoko peered over the side of the boat, she let out a small gasp when she noticed a small pod of dolphins swimming alongside the ship. her paws tightened around the cool railings, and when she inhaled deeply, chiyoko smiled faintly at the sensation of sea spray against her face. traveling to a new kingdom had been such a foreign concept to her, and although she had initially insisted on staying in shihyou in order to preform her job as usual, a few choice viscets (namely kohaku and yoichi) had gotten in contact with two other viscets, and planned for the unwilling guardian of the mountains to take a trip to heiwasame. their reasoning was that chiyoko needed to get to know the world outside of the mountains, and through much persistence and bargaining, she finally gave in and allowed kohaku and yoichi to get her a ticket to the kingdom that thrived from the ocean's blessings.

indentfiddling with the hilt of her dagger, chiyoko released her hold on the railings and took a few steps back. she raised her head upon hearing the ship horn's call, and as she cast the pod a dolphins a remorseful look, the guardian of the mountains turned around and walked away. the ship was beginning to near land, and as she continued to walk along the sides of the railing, she could see the greenery and the trees that dotted the shores of heiwasame. several seabirds soared in the skies, and as they let out their cries, chiyoko raised a paw to pat down at her black fair, feeling almost self-conscious of the armor that she wore. the golden metal reflected the sun's rays back into the sky, and when visclings pulled at their parents' paws and pointed at the guardian of the mountains, she could only smile sheepishly.

indentwhen the ship neared the pier, chiyoko straightened up and flicked her hair over her armored shoulders. her golden yellow eyes glimmered in anticipation at what was in store for her, and as she made her way off the ship, she noticed two viscets who appeared to be looking for someone. the blue furred one made eye contact with her, and when he turned to his side to nudge at the viscet standing next to him, the guardian of the mountains blinked in confusion. she averted her gaze to step off the ship, but almost immediately after her paws had touched the wooden pier, she was jostled by the large crowd of viscets, who were most likely searching for the viscets they knew on the ship. chiyoko cursed softly as she nearly tripped over someone else's paws, and while she had kept her head down to avoid stepping on anyone, she lifted her head at the wrong moment and ended up walking straight into another viscet.

indent"ah, i'm so sorry!" she exclaimed, lifting her head to take a better look at whoever she had bumped into. it was tbe blue furred viscet who she had saw earlier, and although the guardian of the mountains visibly tensed at coming into contact with the viscet who she had caught him observing. however, the other viscet didn't seem to think anything in particular was wrong, as he smiled softly at chiyoko before taking a small step, as though he were respecting her private space. she glanced at him in distrust, wariness still evident within her yellow eyes, when the cat eared viscet turned to call for his friend. she had been about to leave when the other viscet caught her eye again and gave her a small shake of his head. he didn't bother to say anything, and when tbe brown furred viscet who hadn't been standing next to him decided to step forward, the blue furred viscet smiled again.

indent"it's no bother, don't worry about it, miss," he said softly, and as his pale eyes flitted around the area, the guardian of the mountains let out a small sigh and tapped an impatient paw against the ground, clearly itching to leave the pier. the blue furred viscet took no notice of her discomfort, and after what appeared to be some pondering, he extended a paw towards chiyoko, to which she simply stared at in her dumbfounded state. she couldn't find the right words to say in regards to the other viscet's strange behaviour, but thankfully, she didn't need to say anything; the blue furred viscet twitched an ear before opening his mouth. "are you by any chance chiyoko? my name is kaelin, and the viscet standing next to me is ryota. we promised yoichi and kohaku that we'd take care of you for your temporary stay, so please don't worry too much about where you'll be staying."

indentcatching on to the disbelief that still remained prevalent within the swordswoman's cold stare, the viscet standing next to kaelin let out a small sigh of exasperation before giving her a smile of his own. ryota handed a letter to chiyoko, and when she flipped the envelope over to examine the contents, she made a small sound at the back of her throat upon seeing two very familiar names: yoichi and kohaku. the envelope was addressed to kaelin and ryota, and as the guardian of the mountains let out a small sigh, she handed the letter back to the brown furred viscet and inclined her head slightly in acknowledgement. "for now, we're going to take you to the conservatory just so you can freshen up a little and regain your bearings. afterwards, we're going to explore most of this town, so be prepared."

indent"duly noted," chiyoko commented, dipping her head slightly once more. kaelin and ryota exchanged glances, and as kaelin began to walk away, ryota gestured for her to follow him. chiyoko gave a small nod, and as ryota began to walk away as well, she followed hurriedly behind.

    indent---

indentryota and kaelin hadn't been kidding when they said that they were going to explore most of the town. for the next few days, chiyoko had found herself waking up early, and when she met up with the two viscets who were supposed to be taking care of her each morning, they'd leave early and return late. however, these exploration trips weren't for nothing; ryota had taken the guardian of the mountains to meet many of the locals, and kaelin had shown her some of the nicer locations for tourists and souvenir shops that were worth checking out. they had been nice to chiyoko, and often let her choose where she wanted to visit, while providing some input of their own. more than anything else, they had focused on allowing her to unwind from her normal and stressful life of being the guardian of the mountains.

indenton this particular day, however, ryota and kaelin had burst into chiyoko's room at five in the morning, when she was still sleeping soundly. they didn't hesitate in rousing her from her sleep, and when she cracked open an annoyed and exhausted eye, she groaned loudly and ran a paw through her hair. guhh... why are the two of you here? it's so early, i need some more sleep... we were out so late last night, and i'm starting to think that this is even more tiring than being on duty when i was still in shihyou. seriously, what gives?"

indentkaelin and ryota exchanged small glances, and when kaelin shrugged, smiling at the same time, ryota stepped up and reached for chiyoko's paw and pulled her up into an upright sitting position. "i'm not sure if you know about heiwasame traditions, but today is quite the special day. we're holding a celebration to commemorate the prosperity that the sea has provided with us." the brown furred viscet turned around slightly to give kaelin an aggrieved glare, and as ryota let out a small sigh, he ran a paw through his tousled hair as well. "don't... just don't listen to anything kaelin says today, alright? this is all just 'another festival' to him, but in actuality, it's not. kaelin doesn't know any better. just ignore him for today and save the last shreds of my sanity, thanks."

indent"oi, that's rude!" kaelin complained, prompting a snort from ryota and a small chuckle from chiyoko. the cat eared male presented both of them with looks of betrayal, and with a small flick of his tail, he let out a small sigh and crossed his arms over his chest. the guardian of the mountains let out a small noise of amusement from the back of her throat, and when kaelin shot her a vicious (but she knew that it was all in good fun) glare, he started to speak again. "anyways, as i was about to say, it's true that this is just another festival, and i really don't understand why every single viscet in heiwasame needs to get all excited for it. there's tons of festivals in heiwasame, there's nothing too special about this one."

indentchiyoko let out a soft groan when she rubbed at her eyes with the back of paw, and blinking blearily once again, she let out an incomprehensible mumble and swung her legs over the side of the bed. "i don't know about you, kaelin, but this is my first heiwasamian festival, and i'd rather for you to not ruin it with your complaining. might i also add that this is my last day here?" silence met the gray furred viscet's words, and when she looked up in confusion, she noticed for the first time that both ryota and kaelin sported disappointed expressions on their faces. "is something wrong? did i say something that i wasn't supposed to say?"

indent"... no, you didn't say anything wrong at all. yes, we're aware that it's your last day, so that's why i'm determined to make sure that you enjoy yourself as much as possible. since kaelin is a party pooper, he isn't allowed to contribute to the discussion unless he's got something positive to say," ryota declared, clapping his paws together as he watched the guardian of the mountains stand up unevenly. chiyoko had thought that she had seen kaelin flick his ears slightly in annoyance, but when she blinked again, kaelin was standing completely still. "anyways, there's going to be tons of stalls and games for us to visit, so it's always better for us to get moving as quickly as possible. since kaelin is lazy and always wants to sleep a little more, he's always against this."

indent"saying 'always' is kind of pushing things, don't you think, ryota?" kaelin retorted, but he let out a small huff and tapped the tip of his tail against the ground, resigned. chiyoko clicked her tongue against the roof of her mouth in amusement as she reached for the armor that she had draped around a chair. the blue furred viscet raised a paw to brush a strand of hair away form his pale olive-green eyes, and when the guardian of the mountains raised her head at the other male's sudden action, kaelin gave a small smile. "in any case, ryota and i should probably go and get ready as well; we'll meet you outside of the conservatory, chiyoko; don't you dare be late."

indent"sounds good to me!" the guardian of the mountains called out, humming slightly to herself as she slid her knife back into its hilt. kaelin and ryota exchanged small glances, and with a small wave, the two of them left her room, allowing chiyoko some personal space so she can prepare for the day. "now, time to prepare for a festival..."

    indent---

indent"hey now, that looks kind of fun! ryota, can we try out that goldfish scooping game? i'm probably going to be terrible at it, but it's nice to to expand ones' horizons, right?" head bobbing up and down in excitement, chiyoko tilted her head towards one of the larger stalls, indicating at the one where many viscets were lining up in an attempt to catch goldfish with paper-thin nets. the black haired viscet's golden eyes sparkled at the prospect of catching and winning the game, and when kaelin turned to face her with an inquisitive look on his face, ryota let out a small laugh and nodded his head in agreement.

indent"that could be fun, i'll play with you. kaelin, do you want to play as well? i'll pay for the games," the brown furred viscet commented, flicking the tip of his tail in anticipation. kaelin furrowed his brows together as he shook his head quickly, and with a small shrug, ryota turned to face chiyoko, his eyes glimmering in excitement. "i haven't played goldfish scooping games in so long, so i'm rather rusty. how about we turn this into some sort of competition? if you win, i'll buy you anything you want, and if i win... uh... we get to play more games? i don't know, i'll have to think about my prize a little more."

indent"wow, the prize for winning is pretty good... food, games, souvenirs, and goldfish? i couldn't be happier," chiyoko commented snarkily, but she bit down on her lip after speaking, shifting around nervously. "ahh... i'm excited, but i can't help but feel slightly nervous, now that we're actually going to play that game. i would like to have at least one goldfish to bring back to shihyou - wait, can goldfish even survive in such cold temperatures up on the mountains? maybe if i turned up the heat in my house... or maybe i could leave the goldfish with you two." the guardian of the mountains shivered slightly at the thought of the snow-capped peaks that decorated her home, but straightened up in order to seem more confident.

indentupon hearing chiyoko's words, kaelin cocked his head and shot a small smile towards her. "i suppose we could work something out if you win those goldfish, chiyoko. besides, i think i speak for both ryota and i when i say that we can do anything for you today. after all, we're friends now, are we not?" the cat-eared male let his arms drop to his sides, and when ryota directed a kind smile towards the guardian of the mountain's direction, she let out a soft gasp.

indent"friends... admittedly, the concept of friendship is rather foreign to me, but if this is what having friends feels like, then this is something that i can probably get used to," the golden-eyed female viscet murmured, rubbing her paws together in anticipation. her eyes glimmered with excitement, and as she let out a laugh, she tugged slightly at ryota's wrist, pulling him towards the stall with the goldfish scooping game. kaelin followed behind, with a chuckle passing through his lips, as she piped up again. "alright then, it's time to play."

indentgrinning warmly at the armored viscet, ryota let out a slow exhale before straightening up as well. "agreed. may the best viscet win, and no hard feelings, despite the outcome."

"ᴡʜᴀᴛ ʀᴇʟᴀᴛɪᴏɴsʜɪᴘs ᴄʜᴀɴɢᴇᴅ ꜰᴏʀ ʏᴏᴜʀ ᴠɪsᴄᴇᴛs ᴏᴠᴇʀ ᴛʜᴇ sᴜᴍᴍᴇʀ?"

[username ;; Barnes&Rogers]xxx[total words ;; 1296 ]

      [viscets mentioned ;; aidan, eros] [words ;; 1296 ]

"during the summer, Aidan and Eros' relationship took a hit... only to get back on its feet in a way neither of them expected."

'I'm heading out.' The words floated throughout the house, their volume showing their intent to be heard from any room. The front door opened, but didn't close. A sigh, wispy and light, left Aidan's mouth as he glanced outside, before back over his shoulder. He knew that if he didn't leave now, he would be late, but if he didn't wait for a response, he would just worry and, inevitably, all that would await him when he got home, was an argument. Unfortunately for him, the argument decided against waiting, instead appearing from the hallway in the shape of his boyfriend of six years. They were just teenagers when they met, and now, Aidan wished they could go back those years, when love knew no bounds, and fights were far and few between. Time-travel, however, was impossible.

'Again?' Eros' voice was quiet, his tone holding notes of frustration, his expression resigned. Swinging the door closed, Aidan made his way back into the house, shaking his head gently. He placed his keys into the bowl, the light clink the only sound as he watched Eros' shadow appear and disappear with the setting sun streaming between the blinds.

'Is there a problem?' He asked, leaning against the wall as Eros made his way from the hallway into the main room. There was a frown on his face. Stopping in front of Aidan, he opened his mouth, taking a deep breath before closing it again. He seemed at a loss for words, but the silence only last momentarily.

'No, no, 'course I don't have a problem with my boyfriend going out every night, and not telling me where he's going, or who's he's going with,' Eros said, snapping slightly, 'No problem at all.' With the amount of late shifts Eros had had at work, he had been hoping to spend time with his boyfriend, and yet, Aidan seemed to leave at every free chance he got, leaving Eros to stay at home alone. He worried a lot, only falling asleep when Aidan was safely home again. It didn't help that he never knew where Aidan was going, or who he was going with.

'Sorry for wanting a social life!' Eros was surprised at the snarl in Aidan's voice, his eyes widening as the other viscet's lip curled up, 'I don't need you monitoring my every move. You don't get to decide who I hang out with.' There was so much stress, building up inside Aidan, and he instantly felt bad that he had taken it out on Eros. Yet, that's what he'd been doing for three weeks. Guilt was rising in his chest, like a sudden weight, and he felt as if he couldn't breath. He needed some air. Without another word, he spun on his heel, heading outside and slamming the door behind him. The car engine started up quickly, and the squeal of tires could be heard as he sped off. In turn, Eros turned, slamming the bedroom door as he went in, only to crumple to his knees on the other side. Tears ran down his cheeks, and he barely had the strength to pull himself into bed.

He didn't know why Aidan was being so defensive, but he didn't like it at all. Three weeks of fighting, including two nights where Aidan stayed at a friends, and a night where Eros stayed in a hotel. It just didn't feel worth it anymore. Why fight to stay together, just to fight again? Sliding out of the bed, he made his way to the wardrobe, digging underneath a pile of junk to find what he was looking for. A small box, the inside laced with silk. A small cushion lay in the centre of the box, and upon it, a small glowing ring. He stared at it for a few minutes, before laying it back inside the wardrobe, re-covering it with clutter. He wasn't sure if it would ever leave the box. Not anymore, that is.

Aidan arrived home at three am, but Eros wasn't asleep. He hadn't expected him to be, and yet, when he turned over as Aidan walked in, a soft smile on his face, Aidan couldn't help but jump slightly. Eros' cheeks were stained with tears, and quickly changing into pyjamas, Aidan let an even softer smile appear on his own face.

'You're still awake?' He asked, though he knew the answer already. Sitting on the edge of the bed, he flicked a lamp on, the soft golden light illuminating the room. Eros nodded.

'I couldn't sleep, not knowing if you were safe. Especially not after the last thing we did was fight.' His shoulders slumped, and he looked away. Gently, Aidan placed a paw on his shoulder, pulling him into a tight hug. When they pulled away, Eros pressed a kiss to his boyfriends cheek.

'I'm so sorry.' Pulling himself under the covers, Aidan curled up, his tail wrapping around Eros'. Together, they slipped off into the veil of sleep, the weight still resting upon them. They just hoped that maybe, they could lift it together.

When Eros woke, Aidan was already awake and out of the room. Between the tiredness, and the memory of the previous night, tears began to build up in his eyes, and he rushed from the room, out into the kitchen, only to let out a breath as he spotted Aidan sitting at the island eating breakfast. There were tears on both of their cheeks.

'Morning,' Aidan smiled, though it was visibly an unhappy smile. Taking the stool next to him, Eros pushed the bowl away, taking the spoon and putting it back in the bowl. Aidan's head moved in a soft nod, almost invisible had Eros not been looking directly at him.

'I think we both know we need to talk.' The tears seemed to reappear then. 'Maybe this relationship isn't the best for us. Maybe, maybe its just not good, anymore.' Aidan took a deep breath. Standing up out of his seat, he took a hold of Eros' paws.

'We've been fighting, for quite a few weeks.' Eros nodded softly, almost in acknowledgement to the statement, 'I've been under so much stress, but, I had no right to take it out on you, and for that, I'm so sorry. No matter what happens, no matter what stress I'm under, there is no reason for me to take it out on you. I'm at fault for that, but I can't do this anymore. All these secrets, all these nights disappearing. Its just not worth it anymore.' There was a silence, only broken by the occasional soft sob. 'You probably think I don't love you. But I do, so so much. And I can't stand being so distant from you.' Eros frowned slightly, the change in tone confusing him. It had sounded as if they were breaking up, but that mood had changed, drastically. 'I promise, that if you will take me, as you husband, as your mate, that I won't let these things build up,' A gasp left Eros' mouth as Aidan dropped down to one knee, 'I promise that I won't let things get this far, and if I ever go out looking for another wedding ring for you, I promise I'll tell you at least a half-truth of where I'm going, so you don't have to worry so much. So, will you, Eros, marry me?'

Tears built up in Eros' eyes, but he was nodding. He was nodding so hard. Hard enough that it felt as if his head would come free from his shoulders.

      'Yes. Oh my gods, yes.'

i'm really not happy with this lol, but my inspiration has left me, so it'll have to do. sorry its terrible.

Re: Viscet #2567

Viscets used;
Makani | Makenna | Aella

Wavy hair fluttered in the warm, summer breeze. A young viscet, no older than eleven, was flying on her own for the first time.

This was supposed to be the summer that Makani would learn how to guide the waves like her mother, and how to fly higher among the clouds than she ever had before. But she grew restless and so instead she had slipped away while her mother was sleeping to forge a grand adventure of her own.

Though, as it turned out, it wasn't much of a grand adventure-- at least not at first. She had gotten lost in unfamiliar territory quickly. The forest she had been flying overhead of soon became the forest she was crashing into.

Tree limbs raked against skin and fur as the young viscet broke through the dense trees and struck several of the limbs-- meeting the forest floor with a crash. Even with the soft cushion of the decayed leaves from the previous fall to lessen her impact, she was certainly still feeling it as she stretched out her limbs cautiously.

Makani grimaced when she stretched, back aching worse than she could ever remember.

Her nose twitched when she finally started to get her bearings, and when she stopped seeing stars.

This place was most certainly not familiar. It was nowhere near her home and definitely didn't have even the scent of it.

Had she really traveled off that far? She had flown fast, and headed the opposite direction of the shoreline, but didn't everywhere go back to the ocean? She had never seen anything but the ocean, she never thought there could be a place this far out that didn't touch it. She wasn't even close enough to smell the fresh salt in the air, not even a faint whiff of it.

She was both excited and terrified.

She used the tree root she had landed on to push herself into the air, careful to stay in the treeline as she began to explore.

Everything here was so green, so alive, that Makani could practically feel herself vibrating with life and curiosity as she jumped from tree to tree. Soon her injuries were all forgotten in the excitement and adventure.

The sun filtering through the leaves began to reflect orange in the dim lighting of the forest, and the entire forest seemed to turn quiet in reverence of the fast fading light of the sun. Makani too began to grow quiet as she waited for the nighttime sounds of the insects to invade the ever-fading light.

Except... the light stopped fading. The world seemed to be wrapped in an eternal twilight, even as the next hour came and went.

At first, Makani was fascinated. Now she was a little frightened. The forest was silent enough that she could hear her heartbeat in her ears. She stood, not sure of what else to do, and would have walked on if it weren't for the noise she finally did hear.

Just as she took a step, it sounded as if someone took a step behind her.

Makani's heart caught in her throat, but she faced her fears and turned... to see a girl barely older than her behind her.

Laughter filled the trees, echoing as Makani tried to cover her mouth to stifle it.

"Sorry I just thought... you were a monster! I didn't think there was anyone here, you nearly startled me!"

The other girl smiled softly, toying with some of the silver jewelry she was adorned with.

"Are you saying I didn't startle you?" The viscet replied, her voice gentle and yet... there was some almost commanding tone under the surface.

"Well, maybe you did." Makani answered honestly "But now that I know you're just a girl my age, there's nothing to be scared of."

The other viscet chuckled softly. It might have sounded perhaps a little mischevious had Makani listened closely.

"Would you mind giving me your name?" She asked, eyes betraying hopefulness.

Makani tilted her head at the strange way the girl had asked, but she answered regardless.

The other girl grinned "You can call me Makenna." was her response to the name. "Or, you can call me master, now that you've given me the name from your own lips. Now you have no choice but to serve me, mortal!"

Makani laughed, taking it as a game as most young girls would.

"Yes, master!" Makani joked "Tell me what you want!"

"I want you to... amuse me, servant!" Makenna replied, not realizing the other girl only saw it as a game.

"Yes, master!" Makani replied as she began to float in the air, and then float upside down making funny faces at her new companion.

Makenna laughed at all of Makani's silly antics for several minutes as the girl did just about anything she could think of to amuse the other girl until she decided to land on the ground again, a little bit tired from all of the goofiness.

"Who said you could stop, mortal!" Makenna frowned "Ok, fine, you're probably tired... being a mortal and all." her eyes lit up "Oh, oh, tell me jokes now! I command you!"

If Makani had known any jokes, she probably would have continued to go along with it. Well, she did know jokes, having been around sailors, but her momma always told her not to repeat those or she would be in so much trouble.

"I... don't know any good jokes though." Makani replied, "Ask me to do something else, maybe?"

"Servant!" Makenna grimaced "You aren't supposed to back talk, only do what I say!"

"Ok, but this isn't fun anymore." Makani dusted herself "Maybe we can play tomorrow? I think I'm gonna climb a tree and sleep."

"No, Makani, you have to do what I say! You have to come home with me and stay as my servant. You don't get a choice!"

Makani looked back to the other girl, tilting her head as she studied the other girl. "You're a little bit of a brat, aren't you?"

"B-brat!" Makenna huffed "You can't say things like that to your master! Who do you think you are, mortal?"

Makani shook her head, turning back again to find a tree to rest in until it was daylight if there was going to be real daylight again. This place was so strange, Makani couldn't be sure of anything.

"Did you give me a fake name?" Makenna demanded to know as she followed after the other girl. "I'm the daughter of the Queen. You can't lie to me! You have to give me your True name mortal! You should only have one name, it can't be that hard to give me the right one!"

"That is the right one!" Makani replied "I don't have another name, that I've ever heard anyway. Can you stop following me now? We'll play tomorrow."

Makenna couldn't make sense of it at all, but she turned from the other girl and disappeared intot he trees.

---

"You're a demi-goddess!" Makenna yelled up to the tree that Makani was resting in "Why didn't you tell me! Were you just making a fool of me?! Trying to get a good laugh out of it?! Out of me?! You can't disrespect a fae princess like that! You'll suffer for it!"

Makani grumbled as she wiped the sleep out of her eyes.

"Mmm... my momma is a demi-goddess of the wind and sea. Not me, I'm just learning things from here." Makani answered, her voice gruff from sleep. "Now can I go back to sleep?"

"But now I need to know your name."

"You do!"

"No, I don't!" Makenna yelled back "Not your True name! So give it to me!"

"I don't even know what you're talking about. Go home! It's... well it's night time I think. It still looks like twilight, but still!"

Makani grumbled as she realized the other girl wasn't about to change her mind and run off. She climbed out of the tree, sighing as she reached for Makenna.

"Take my paw. Let's go play, and forget about all of this servant stuff, ok?"

Makenna looked to the offered paw, hesitating only a moment before taking it in her own.

"Fine, servant, but this is not over..." Makenna mumbled as a blush appeared on her face. She wasn't used to touching others or being touched. This was indeed strange for her. "So, where are we going?"

Makani snorted "Well I don't know this place!" she replied "But does it matter? We're going on an adventure!"

Makani was finally going to get that adventure she wanted, even if she had to drag this other girl with her the whole way. It was very fortunate for Makani that this was indeed a magical forest, with lots of interesting things and creatures to see and chase about.

Eventually the sun rose again, staying in the sky and lighting the forest in subtle light through the trees for only a handful of hours before the sky decided on twilight again for another few hours until finally, the sky settled into night, and dew formed below the canopy of the trees and onto the soft grasses and mosses of the forest floor. And still, the girls were not done. Makenna had gone from tolerating where they were going and viewing Makani as a servant-to-be into seeing her as an equal. She was able to see how smart, funny, and just... fun that Makani could be. Likewise, as Makenna began to shed her shell, Makani began to see just who she could be behind all the self-importance and stubbornness.

They lay in the moss, earthen and damp smells enveloped the area and the both of them but neither of the girls seemed to mind at all. They giggled as they rested beside each other in a soft patch of the moss. In a matter of moments of silence, after they were done with the hushed whispers and the giggling, both of them were out like a light.

Two mothers watched, fondness in their expressions as their daughters rested together.

"Are you sure you won't give her to me? She would make a good match for my daughter. They would make good queens together, don't you think? Could you imagine, a demi-goddess and fae power couple? They could take on the world together. Besides, we could have an alliance, you and I." the Queen chuckled softly as she watched the two of them cuddle up next to one another for warmth in the cool night air. It was certainly endearing.

Aella, Makani's mother, shook her head "We called truce when we saw them playing together, but no. I'm not willing to give up my daughter for a lasting alliance. I don't trade in lives, as you do. It's not our way. And I love my daughter, very much."

"I suppose you would." the Queen replied with a soft smile "Still let her stay for a little longer anyway. Enjoy part of this summer in the fae forest. I'll watch after her, on my honor and on my daughter's life no harm will come to her. Could it hurt, anyway, to allow her some time in the summers to meet with her new friend? Her only friend her own age, yes?"

Aella sighed faintly, knowing the Queen was right. Allowing her daughter to bond with another young immortal her age was healthy. She pricked a paw pad and held it out to the Queen.

The Queen did the same, and gripped Aella's hand in hers, giving a firm shake.

"So it is said, and sworn on blood, no harm will come to your daughter here." The Queen looked to Aella pointedly "And no harm might come for my daughter from your hands."

Aella gave a nod "Your daughter will always be safe with me and my domain, should she stray there." she assured the fae queen.

"Then, truce. True truce, for now. But always for our daughters."

"Always for our daughters." Aella repeated as she puleld her paw back again "Anything... for her." her eyes glistened with proud tears as she looked down to her protege. She whispered a small assurance to herself, almost a spell, before leaving the forest to attend to her work at sea.

This was new, this agreement with the fae Queen, but she knew that their dynamic was forever changed. There would be no bad blood between them, not with their daughters in the way.

This was a good thing, indeed. And as an added bonus, Aella mused, if someone did try to hurt her daughter now, then the Queen would get involved. There would be no safer place for her daughter outside fo the ocean than that forest, surrounded by the subjects of a Queen who she now had a blood oath with.

Things were going to be different now with the fae indeed.
