name: shingko (nicknamed: karasu after the events which take place.)
gender: male
a shrill voice resonated from the alleyway in which he resided with his childhood best friend. "you, you murderer!" they shrieked, pointing their claws and pinning back their ears. "what have you done?!"
shingko knew he had to either act quickly or flee- he told himself that he wasn't a coward, that he would not flee- he would take the punishment and stand tall for he knew he'd done the right thing, but he did not stay. he picked up the abandoned cloak on the floor and curled it around is soft mane before tying it in place and sprinting off, scaling up the wall in front of him and jumping onto the rooftops.
he left the rusty, metallic smelling sword on the floor as he raced away, willing his mind to think of anything other than the sickening crack of splintering bone, the squelching of flesh and the way the blood flung all over the walls, pooling around the victim as he took a shuddering breath, watching as the steady drip drip of the red liquid fell from the weapon.
"oh, god." he moaned to himself as he ran, trying his best to keep up a good pace. he wanted to throw up.
shingko was so glad that it was night. his already pitch black fur was hard to see enough- added darkness was better. he swooped down a level to a lower rooftop, his shadow illuminated by the moons light.
he wasn't sure if the moon was angry or forgiving towards him.
"hey!" a loud voice screamed from below. "we can see you! come down at once, or face further punishment!"
swearing to himself he accelerated his swift footsteps, not really caring about noise anymore. he knew they were going to catch him and drag him back to the elders. they were good warriors.
he'd know, considering he was one.
unexpectedly, a net was thrown on top of him from above. he hadnt accounted for the high chimney above him and was too busy preparing himself to scale such a tall structure to realise it was an obvious trap.
he was pulled down off the roof roughly, slamming onto the concreted floor. he moaned, rolling over, before promptly passing out.

"shingko, son of yuri, son of rei, one who we bestowed such trust and faith- i sentence you to eternal banishment to earth's cruel surface. you are to be stripped of all names, rights and powers and will be forced to walk among the living ever more.
they'll all fear you for who you are. a big, bad monster!" the elder howled, slamming her paws down on the jury's table. "how dare you go out there and kill my, my-!"
"your son was a bad man, anaki!" shingko snarled, abruptly shoving his big clawed feet into motion. "a very, bad man!"
"he was not!" she shrieked in response, her big eyes watering and spilling salty tears down her furred cheeks.
"he killed thousands, my elder! how dare you justify that to me, to me face, when you know what he's done yourself! you know what he wanted to do, anaki? he wanted to kill all of you and overthrow you!"
there was a collective gasp in the room where it happened.
"i did you all a favour!" he pleaded as he watched her rise slowly, looking around in wildly. he saw his family in the stands, watching their expressions morph constantly. they were grieving. there was no way of getting out of this.
something heavy settled on his backfur, feeling akin to a sack of potatoes.
"take him away," she whispered, glaring at him. she gasped, breath coming in hitches. "take him away, now! down to earth to rot for all i care! get him out of my sight!" she screamed, watching as shingko came towards her for his final verdict.
he looked defeated.
she swung her paw back before slashing his nose. "that-" she heaved. "is for andani! my beautiful son who i will never seen again because of your selfish intentions! you wanted to be just like him, from the very beginning! you're a terrible monster who everybody hates!"
shingko never let anyone know, but he shed many tears after what she said as he cradled his bloody nose, awaiting for his starry pelt to be drained of power.

shingko asked, smiling to the small human child. he showed off his pearly whites, his expression one of happiness.
"yes, mr wolfie!" she squealed, clapping her hands.
the kalon chuckled, shuffling closer to her. "shh," he whispered, putting a clawed paw to his maw. "you must be quiet for this to work!"
"oh!" she responded in a hushed whisper (which was, indeed, shouting.) "sorry mr wolfie!"
"it's okay!" he rubbed her shoulder, supplying comfort if she needed it. "now then, allow me to tell you of my story, child."
shingko told the small girl all about his life. about his family, his dreams, his beloved- and his best friend. and andani. he told her fantastically illustrated stories with many hand movements and laughter from both sides before finally stopping.
"so why have you gots those spots, sir?" she asked politely, swinging her little legs back and forth on the log they sat upon.
he paused, casting his gaze to the sky above him. "they're stars," he told her, voice completely calm. "each star represents something that i've done. it's a good thing, i'd like to think. whenever i do something good, my pelt strings up one more star.
however, when i do something bad?" he said, pointing his paw at the dull crescent moon on his back. "they go dark.
they might even fall off. it's a very painful experience."
the girl gasped. "why? have you ever done something bad, mister?"
shingko closed his maw, his beautiful emerald eyes scanning her over. "once," he replied. "but once is enough for a lifetime, my child." he shut his eyes and leaned back, swishing his long tail behind him.
"m-mr wolfie!" she squealed after a few minutes. "you're glowing!"
he flung his eyes open, using his claws to scramble upright on the log. he looked at the back of his body, watching as the crescent moon refilled itself with colour.
was he forgiven? could he go home after hundreds of years? how could this be?
he told everybody of that day and how he happily shed many tears, hugging his child to his chest.
after all, he'd been committed to looking after orphans for so long now.
