the night of october had finally come. the one night alone, where spiritual beings could walk among kalons, where you could assume the identity of anything, or anyone. a night of deciet, and good-natured trickery, and for one in particular, their only night off.

have you ever wondered how exactly hell communicates with the mortal plane? be it one's final words, a letter of interest, anything one could possibly think of. it must be sent from one to the other by some means. and that, that is why the mailcarriers have such importance.

maraschino, and lyre. both not entirely mortal, both foreigners to the witchbased realm where they were stationed. but the two were quite close, sharing their individual burdens. it was only proper for them to spend their time off together.

their night was spent dashing between houses, the chilled winds nipping at their heels as if it were hoping to spur them forward. they would tail groups of 'trick or treaters' as they themselves had no idea of what they were doing, never before had they taken advantage of all hallow's eve. but it was well worth the effort. Lyre, having no idea why strangers were giving her a feast of sweets,
was overjoyed. whilst maraschino wandered silently, pulling the other away from
the mesmerizing lights.
